Hamas members go to Iran to ask for financial aid

By ASSOCIATED PRESS

April 11, 2006
Six legislators headed to Iran on Tuesday, and said they hoped to win financial support for Islamic and Arab countries.

The delegation left Gaza several days after the United States and Europe announced they were cutting aid to the Hamas government. The Islamic group has acknowledged it is broke and will have trouble paying the salaries of some 140,000 government employees. Arab countries have promised to help close the gap, but have so far not kept their pledges.

Russian FM Lavrov: Halting aid to Hamas-led PA is a mistake

April 11, 2006
By Haaretz Service and Agencies

MOSCOW - Halting aid to the Hamas-led Palestinian government is a mistake, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday, Interfax news agency reported.

The European Union this week temporarily suspended direct aid to the Palestinian government to pressure it to recognize Israel, end violence and accept peace accords.

Lavrov said Russia would not be halting aid but he said Hamas must meet the demands of international mediators.

Comments: The chaos caused by the bankruptcy of the Palestinian government is yet another step along the road to the war of Ezekiel 38.The fact that they are seeking aid from Iran, a named member of the Ezekiel 38 alliance, is significant. Note that Russia, traditionally held to be the leader of the Gog-Magog alliance is also involved. I also believe that this war will be the next major event on the prophetic calendar, one last wake-up call from God before the Rapture and Tribulation. It won’t be long in coming, as tensions grow daily in the region, fueled by Muslim hatred of all things Jewish.

Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Peled: Iranian Nuclear Independence a Threat to Israel’s Existence

23:46 Apr 11, '06 / 13 Nisan 5766

(IsraelNN.com) Retired IDF Northern District Commander Major-General Yossi Peled told Channel 1 TV’s Politika program on Tuesday night that if Iran does reach nuclear independence, it will indeed represent a threat to Israel’s existence.

Comments: If Israel’s existence depended on the works of man, this would indeed be true. But God Himself guarantees that a remnant of Israel will endure to the end and enter the Millennial Kingdom. Israel is the apple of God's eye and will not be destroyed by something so puny as man-made nuclear weapons, although Israel will suffer terribly during the Tribulation.

Southern Psalmist, 1871

The Salvation of Israel.

O THAT the Lord's salvation

Were out of Zion come,

To heal his ancient nation,

To lead his outcasts home!

How long the holy city

Shall heathen feet profane!

Return, O Lord, in pity;

Rebuild her walls again.

Let fall thy rod of terror;

Thy saving grace impart;

Roll back the vail of error;

Release the fettered heart.

Let Israel, home returning,

Her lost Messiah see;

Give oil of joy for mourning,

And bind thy church to thee.

Turkey calls off 20-year water deal with Israel

Source: Agence France Presse (AFP)

April 11, 2006 -- Turkey and Israel have scrapped a long-standing project to ship water from Turkey's southern coast to the Jewish state on the grounds that the deal is no longer feasible, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced Friday.

"The two sides have reached an agreement to cancel the deal because rising oil prices have increased the cost of transporting water in specially built tankers," a ministry statement said.

Another reason, it said, was the Turkish government's decision to privatize the water-treatment facilities on the Manavgat River, from where the water was to be shipped to Israel.

The project, negotiations on which have been going on for years, had been meant to relieve Israel's chronic water shortage and give a fresh boost to its relations with Turkey.

In 2004, Israel had agreed to buy 50 million cubic meters of water a year from Turkey over  20 years. Turkey has built facilities capable of exporting 180 million cubic meters of water annually on the Manavgat, which flows into the Mediterranean near the southern port of Antalya.

Turkey has been Israel's main regional ally since 1996, when the two countries hammered out a military cooperation deal, much to the anger of Arab nations and Iran.

Relations have gone through cooler periods, however, since the Islamist-rooted Justice and Development Party came to power in Ankara in 2002.

Comments:  Ezekiel 38:6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah (modern day Turkey) of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

Bible prophecy students have been saying for years that Turkey will one day sever its friendly ties with Israel and once again align itself with its Muslim brothers.  Turkey after all was the center of the Ottoman Empire that occupied the Holy Land which “Christian” Europe organized multiple crusades (several military campaigns usually sanctioned by the Papacy) to drive the Muslims out.  Turkey’s role in NATO for decades and its political cosiness with the Jewish State have infuriated Muslims worldwide.  Turkey’s application to become the first Muslim member of the EU further added to the inflamed situation.  Turkey is a rogue state of Islam.

With the EU stalling Turkey’s membership bid by imposing one hurdle after another of preset conditions and with Iran applying intense pressure on Turkey to disenfranchise itself from the West and especially Israel, Turkey may have finally turned the corner and is returning to the Muslim fold.  “Welcome Back Kotter” is a popular rerun in Ankara these days.

The alignment of nations that will participate in the Ezekiel 38/39 invasion of Israel is coming into crystal clear focus.  Gog the leader from Magog just has to fire the starter pistol and the invading troops will begin their convergent march toward Israel to take a spoil and to laid waste on the much hated Israelis.  Bible prophecy must be fulfilled.

Poll: Most don't believe in body's resurrection

Source: Scripps Howard News Service

April 11, 2006 -- Most Americans don't believe they will experience a resurrection of their bodies when they die, putting them at odds with a core teaching of Christianity.

Only 36 percent of the 1,007 adults interviewed a month ago by the Scripps Survey Research Center at Ohio University said "yes" to the question: "Do you believe that, after you die, your physical body will be resurrected someday?" Fifty-four percent said they do not believe and 10 percent were undecided.

"This reflects the very low state of doctrinal preaching in our churches," said Al Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., and editor of the Southern Baptist Journal of Theology.

"I continually am confronted by Christians, even active members of major churches, who have never heard this taught in their local congregations," Mohler said. "We have a lowest-common-denominator Christianity being taught in so many denominations that has produced a people who simply do not know some of the most basic Christian truths."

The survey also surprised a prominent revisionist theologian who discounts a literal belief in a physical resurrection of Jesus.

"I don't know what to make of this," said retired Episcopal Bishop John Shelby Spong, author of "Resurrection: Myth or Reality" and other books that downplay supernatural events in the Bible. "Maybe the old Greek idea of an immortal soul has taken over and the idea of a resurrected body has fallen into disrepute."

Comments:  2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.

With humanism having its grip on Americans and Playboy’s hedonistic fatalistic lifestyle being propagated, it’s no wonder a great percentage of people don’t believe in a bodily resurrection after death.  For a person who has lived a decadent life, being resurrected to face a Holy God would be absolutely horrifying to say the least.  If the annihilation (a false doctrine by the way) of the body, soul and spirit at death can somehow be true, a person’s accountability for his sins is non-existent.  There would be no judgment for their sins and no lake of fire to be cast into.  Better to be totally destroyed even if there will be no more consciousness. “Live and die like a dog”, they say. But God says our souls are immortal and all physical bodies will be resurrected (even the ashes that were sprinkled into the oceans and into the air).  The body will be reunited with the soul and spirit.  Those people who have been saved by God and Jesus will have glorified new bodies while those God and Christ rejecters will have resurrected bodies more aptly suited for an eternity of suffering and torment in the lake of fire.

The lack of Bible reading and the non-teaching of the resurrection of the body from the pulpits say much about the sad state of Christianity today.  Basic Christian truths are either being disbelieved or not even being taught.   Simply astounding!

Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them and they were judged every man according to their works.

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Rabbi: Jews should know the New Testament

Source: Associated Press

April 11, 2006 -- Of all the texts considered required reading in a thorough Jewish education, one major work with Jewish roots is usually missing from everyone's list: the New Testament.

Most Jews shun Christian Scripture. As a result, they can't answer Christians who ask why Jews don't accept Jesus as the Messiah.

Reform Rabbi Michael J. Cook says this "self-imposed ignorance" is dangerous.

At a time when many Christians are embracing the Jewish origins of their faith, holding Passover seders before Easter, Cook says he has taken on the "Herculean task" of convincing Jews they must learn how the Gospels molded Christian attitudes toward Judaism.

"The New Testament is the greatest single external determinant of Jewish history, and deleteriously so in its causing Jews grievous problems," said Cook, who holds the unusual job of New Testament professor at a Jewish seminary, the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. In a book he plans to publish next year, "Modern Jews Engage the New Testament," he will present an education plan for how Jews can learn enough to answer "why they process it differently from Christians."

Many scholars agree that Jews would benefit from studying the Christian texts.

Comments:  John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

Religious Jews rejected Jesus when He first came into the world.  They were expecting the promised Messiah to liberate them from Roman oppression.  Instead they got the unwanted message of the Lamb of God who came into the world as a babe born of a virgin, grew up as a carpenter, suffered and died on the cross and shed His blood to save them from their sins.  Early on in Jesus’s public ministry, they wanted nothing to do with Jesus.  After Christ ascended back to His Father and the Church came into existence on the Day of Pentecost, the Christian message of Christ’s salvation, first to the Jews and then to the gentiles was totally rejected.

New Testament reading was certainly out of the question for the followers of Judaism for nearly 1,960 years now.  Jesus and the New Testament are intertwined.  Even though the very first Christians were Jewish, rabbis have castigated Christianity for trying to convert Jews.  Christendom acquired a loathsome label when the Roman popes persecuted and slaughtered thousands upon thousands of Jews for refusing to be water baptised and not bowing their knees to Rome.

When you mention Christianity to Jewish people, they immediately point to the Vatican.  They aren’t aware that there are many evangelical (Bible believing) Christians who love Jews as Christ commanded them to do so and desire their salvation.  It’s not about converting to the Christian faith.  It’s about believing faith in their own Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.  Reading the New Testament may be the conduit the Holy Spirit uses to reach their minds currently shrouded in darkness.  Jesus warned that because of the widespread rejection of Him, there will come a man who will claim to be the Jews’ long awaited Messiah and will bring peace (albeit a false one) to Israel. They will gladly accept him at first, but in due time, he will turn on them and kill them.

Iran priming Hezbollah for war with U.S., Israel?
Source: Worldnetdaily

11 April 2006 -- Iran is attempting to draw Lebanon into a conflict with the U.S. and Israel and is priming the Hezbollah militia to assault the Jewish state in the event of an attack against Iran's nuclear facilities, Lebanon's Druze leader Walid Jumblatt said in an interview.

"Lebanon is being used by the Iranians as a front which could be used if the Americans retaliate against Iran's nuclear facilities. Lebanon is now entangled in a greater axis. It is no longer independent," said Jumblatt, speaking to WND's Aaron Klein and ABC Radio's John Batchelor on Batchelor's national radio program for which Klein serves as a co-host.

Comments:  In the event of an air strike against Iran’s nuclear power instillations, the Hezbollah will be instructed by Iran to launch an attack on Israel as a distraction.  There are warning signs that Iran may be looking for other help in a future conflict against Israel and the U.S.  Today the news tells us. Iran’s Rafsanjani is to hold talks with al-Assad in Damascus. Just the other day, An Egyptian helicopter was nearly struck down by the Israel Air Force recently after they reportedly entered Israeli airspace.  The planes approached the foreign aircraft after the latter were suspected of heading to the nuclear research plant near Dimona”.

I believe that Israel is facing their most dangerous period since the Yom Kippur war and possibly since 1948 when they became a Nation. There is no doubt that if Iran is attacked by the U.S., Israel will be attacked by Iran, the Hezbollah, possibly Syria and Egypt maybe dragged into this. Folk’s, I have a feeling we won’t be waiting for very long before this escalates.  Iran flies nuclear flag in US face

Ps 83:2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

 3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

 4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

Sharon Declared Permanently Incapacitated

Source: Chron.com

11 April 2006 -- With his chair empty and a small brown gavel lying untouched in front of it, ailing Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was declared permanently incapacitated by Israel's Cabinet on Tuesday, officially ending his five-year tenure.  Sharon, 78, suffered a devastating stroke Jan. 4 and has been in a coma since.

Comments: Although Ariel Sharon chair sits empty and can no longer lead as Prime minister, the Jewish people will not only remember him as a statesmen,  he will also be remembered as a war hero. Sharon has fought in all the major Arab Israeli wars since the creation of the state of Israel. He was instrumental in the crushing Egyptian army defeat in the 1967 six day war. Yes, Ariel Sharon has made some military and political blunders but his legacy will always live on.

Keep watching!
