China is ready to work for Mideast peace

April 24, 2006 -- Chinese President Hu Jintao told Saudi Arabia on Sunday that the world's most populous country was ready to help bring stability to the Middle East.
"The Middle East is a vital region in the world and there will be no achievements and development in the world without a stable Middle East," Hu said in the translated comments.
"China is ready to work with Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries to strengthen peace and development in the Middle East and to build a world of peace, stability and prosperity," he told Saudi Arabia's Shura council, an unelected legislature.
Comments: When the world’s most populous nations says it wants to help forge a peace accord between Jews and Muslims, the media take notice. It’s may be pure talk and nothing else considering that in the past, China had not lifted even one finger to facilitate the peace process, but instead pointed its index finger (in the U.N. HQ in New York City) at Israel for subjecting the Palestinians to extreme hardships and for occupying their land.
So what makes the Chinese think they can achieve something that the Quartet (the U.S., Russia, the EU and the U.N.) hasn’t been able to pull off? Communist Russia has a strong influence in the Arab world, yet there remains no peace in the Mideast. Communist China has a lesser influence with the Muslims so by mathematical induction, it would seem that China would fail in its endeavor. The wild card in this game is the involvement of the oil rich Saudis. They’ve floated a peace plan a few years back when the ruling king was still alive and it raised some eye brows. The Saudis were willing and ready to put their wallets where their mouths were and fund the peace treaty aftermath. Abundant money would flow to the Palestinians should the Saudi plan fly.
Bible prophecy is clear that the person who will cement a comprehensive peace treaty will come from one of the countries of the Old Roman Empire. China was never part of that empire; however for China to make such a pronouncement lends another voice in the increasing calls for Mideast peace. Saudi Arabia’s (the birthplace of Islam) active involvement and contribution will be crucial. Can such a peace really come about and is it far off? Look up dear Christians for our redemption draws near. Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Bin Laden calls United Nations as "infidel" body

April 24, 2006 -- Osama bin Laden called the United Nations an "infidel" body used to implement "crusader-Zionist" schemes against Muslims, according to new sections of an audiotape aired on Sunday.
"It is an infidel body and whoever accepts its resolutions becomes an infidel. It is a tool to implement crusader-Zionist resolutions, among which are the resolutions of war against us (Muslims) and those to divide and occupy our land," bin Laden said in the tape aired on Al Jazeera television.
Bin Laden decried that Muslims have no permanent seat at the world body's Security Council "although they represent a fifth of the earth population."
"The world's crusaders alongside pagan Buddhists hold the five permanent seats and have the veto right in the so-called Security Council, while the Islamic world of 57 nations ... have no place," the al Qaeda chief said.
However, bin Laden said he was not demanding a Security Council seat for Muslim nations because it was an "infidel body".
The United States, France, Britain, Russia and China occupy the Council's five permanent seats and have the right to block any proposed U.N. resolution, while the other 10 seats are rotated among the rest of the international organisation's member states and have no veto power.
Comments: Islam considers all non‑Muslims “infidels”, i.e. non‑believers, and that includes the atheistic Russians and Chinese. There’s a saying “The enemies of our enemies are our friends”, relatively speaking. Friends they are for a season and when they’re no longer useful, jettison them out of the window.
Russia and China are ideologically and politically opposed to the U.S. and Israel and so does China although you would never suspect it when the visiting Chinese leader staged a love‑in with U.S. President Bush in America just last week. Islam manipulates Russia and China to further its ultimate aim, i.e. world domination. First get Russia and China to defeat the capitalistic Americans and the Zionists in Israel and afterward, pit the Russians against the Chinese and whoever is still left standing after all the dust has settled, Islam would finish them off with the sword. Godless nations cannot share this planet with the followers of Allah. Islam is an implacable religion.

TV séance claims to have reached John Lennon

April 24, 2006 -- A controversial television séance airing on Monday will claim it has reached the spirit of John Lennon, but viewers will have to pay $9.95 to find out what the peace-loving Beatle has to say.
The special, being carried on pay-TV service In Demand, was organized by the producers of a 2003 attempt to channel the late Princess Diana. That show failed to find Diana and received reviews that could have sunk the Titanic but it is estimated to have grossed close to $8 million.
Sight unseen, the Lennon effort has been attacked by the late Beatle's friends and fans as a tasteless effort to profit from his assassination 25 years ago. But producers say they are hoping to lure an audience that now loves such prime-time network TV shows as "Ghost Whisperer" and "Medium."
The program features what is described as an Electronic Voice Phenomenon, or EVP, that a psychic on the show claims is the disembodied voice of Lennon speaking at a séance in one of his favorite New York restaurants, La Fortuna.
EVP is based on a belief that spirit voices communicate through radio and TV broadcast signals.
Comments: The Beatles arrogantly proclaimed at one time that they were popular than Jesus Christ. Jesus didn’t enter a popularity contest when He walked this earth, healed the sick and forgave certain sinners of their sins. He came to do His Father’s will.
John Lennon was taken away well before his time; he didn’t get to collect his old age security checks. The unsaved don’t comprehend that God holds our very breath and He allowed a crazed maniac to take the life of one John Lennon, an antichrist (“anti” means to take the place of Christ) of a sort. Lennon was decidedly anti‑Christian. He and his fellow Beatles were adherents of Hinduism and Hare Krishna. They believed in reincarnation. They wrote songs such My Sweet Lord (Krishna not Jesus), Hey Jude (i.e. Judas) and Imagine (there’s no heaven). By most accounts, John Lennon and George Harrison (at his death bed, he asked that his ashes be sprinkled in the Hindu’s Ganges River) both died without Christ and are in that holding cell called Hell.
This TV farce will appeal to those who desperately seek Lennon’s utterance from the other side of the grave. They have worshipped Lennon for decades and any word from their “god” will be worth the $9.95. We know that the dead cannot communicate with the living (Luke 16: 24 & 30). Demons however can and have imitated the voices of those that have died. Yes, Satan’s demons control the air waves and they communicate to people that way. People whose minds have been primed will believe the dead are speaking and will be further deluded. Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.

Religion in Europe: EU searches for correct terms on Islam

24 April 2006 --It may be just words, but European Union policymakers struggling to build better ties with Muslim nations have set themselves a new task - hammering out guidelines to ban the use of terms considered derogatory to Islam. The focus is on stopping the bloc's officials and documents from using words that are considered offensive to Muslims or give the impression that Europe's drive against terrorism is specifically aimed at Muslims.
…EU insiders say the new lexicon will be non-binding but will probably be endorsed by the bloc's leaders when they meet in Brussels in June.
…While waiting
to see if politically correct language can help ease current strain between
Europe and Muslim countries, EU officials, including external relations
commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner and Javier
Solana, the bloc's foreign and security policy chief, are
doing their own bit to bridge the gulf.
Both Ferrero-Waldner and Solana told
EU foreign ministers in Salzburg last month that the EU must work with the
UN, the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Conferenc to rebuild
trust with Muslim countries.
The paper also said that foreign policy measures must be backed up with
tougher domestic European legislation to tackle Islamophobia and build a
better dialogue with Muslims in Europe.
Egyptian FM calls for respect of religions, cultures

24 April 2006 -- In a final statement adopted at the end of the meeting, foreign ministers of 11 member states affirmed that the coming decade would be the "decade of dialogue between civilizations and mutual respect for all cultures, religions and beliefs," said MENA.
It was the first ministerial meeting following the first summit of the Euro-Mediteranean Partnership convened in Barcelona, Spain on Nov. 27-28, 2005, which was to commemorate the 10th anniversary of establishing the partnership.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Alaa al-Hadidi said the gathering discussed a host of regional issues, including the Middle East peace process and assessed the Barcelona process, which was born in 1995 when the Euro-Mediteranean Partnership was established.

the International Conference of Islamic Scholars (ICIS) to be held on
June 20.
"We have invited him to speak on what the West wants from Islam and then
there will be something like
a bridge
of understanding between the West and Islam," Hasyim said on Friday after a
meeting with Solana.
He added Solana
was expected to be a keynote speaker in the conference.
Comments: Like I mentioned in yesterdays Newsletter, Javier Solana and Benita Waldner are doing a pretty good job promoting peace and security in the near and far European neighborhood. As the first article explains both are doing their part to bridge the gulf between Islam and the west. Back in 1995 it was Javier Solana who was the architect of the Barcelona Process or so called Euro-Mediterranean partnership. This process brought together 12 Middle East states including Israel and the 25 EU members. The goal was to promote peace and security on the EU’s southern shores and a free trade area by 2010. It was also Javier Solana who initiated The European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) which was drafted by the European Counsel in 2003. Solana was at that time (and still is) the secretary General of the Counsel. Currently Benita Waldner is the Commissioner of the ENP and the goal of the ENP is intended to breathe new life into the slumping Barcelona process. The ENP (Map) brings together 10 Middle Eastern countries including Israel, plus 6 countries to the east of the EU. The Neighborhood Policy also has an initiative called the European Neighborhood Initiative (ENPI) this is a seven year budgetary period for the ENP members lasting from 1 Jan 2007 to 31 Dec 2013 exactly seven years. This agreement with 25 EU members and 16 ENP member countries totals over 800 million people and it is a peace and security agreement with “many”.
What I find interesting, is that Solana has been invited to be the key note speaker at the International Conference of Islamic Scholars. They want to know what the west wants from Islam and how to bridge the gap that divides us. Don’t forget Solana is… hammering out guidelines to ban the use of terms considered derogatory to Islam. I’ll bet Javier Solana’s message at that conference will be Peace, Security, good governance and the rule of law. We can check back on June 20th.
