U.S. Tries to Dampen Talk of Iran Strike

By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

Mon Apr 10, 2:01 AM ET

WASHINGTON - While stressing that diplomacy is the first course for dealing with Iran's nuclear ambitions, the White House is not ruling out a military response and says "normal defense and intelligence planning" is under way.

The White House, sensitive to President Bush's image as a war hawk, is trying to play down the possibility of a military strike on the country that Bush included among nations forming the "axis of evil."

"The president's priority is to find a diplomatic solution to a problem the entire world recognizes," Bush counselor Dan Bartlett told The Associated Press on Sunday. "And those who are drawing broad, definitive conclusions based on normal defense and intelligence planning are ill-informed and are not knowledgeable of the administration's thinking on Iran."

Comments: Matthew 24:6-9 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

Yet another rumour of war, and it seems I just read about an earthquake in Iran and I just posted about the bird flu for the weekend edition. Can the end be far away? We are already hated even in this land of religious liberty. I can’t tell you in a Christian newsletter the vile things I get called on Yahoo for posting about Jesus. I wouldn’t even repeat them at the Old Sailor’s Home.

These are but the beginning of sorrows. In my opinion, things will get much worse before we are called away.

Mat 24:1-51 - We have already seen that the rejection of the testimony to the kingdom in grace, is the cause of the judgment that falls upon Jerusalem and its inhabitants. Now in chapter 24 we have the position of this testimony in the midst of the people; the condition of the Gentiles, and the relation in which they stood to the testimony rendered by the disciples; after this, the condition of Jerusalem, consequent upon her rejection of the Messiah, and her contempt for the testimony; and then the universal overthrow at the end of those days: a state of things which should be ended by the appearance of the Son of man, and the gathering together of the elect of Israel from the four winds.[1]

Still no visa for Hamas invitee

By HERB KEINON

The participation of a Hamas representative at Monday's session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg seemed unlikely Sunday since France had not yet decided whether to issue him a visa.

"The visa has not been issued," French Ambassador Gerard Araud told The Jerusalem Post.

Araud said the Hamas visa issue would likely be raised in Monday's meeting of the 25 European Union foreign ministers in Luxembourg. That meeting is expected to deal with the EU's overall relationship with the new Hamas-led Palestinian Authority government.

Asked if it would be difficult to get the visa issued in time for the Hamas representative, whose name Araud did not know offhand, to attend the three-day PACE parley, the French ambassador replied, "I think so."

If, indeed, France does not issue the visa in time, it would mark the second time in two weeks that Hamas representatives have been unable, for "technical reasons," to travel to Europe to take part in parliamentary gatherings.

Comments: If France approves this visa, they will be letting the fox into the henhouse, or a more appropriate analogy might be letting the wolf into the fox’s den.  Only mischief can come from allowing a Hamas representative to sit in EU councils, but than the EU is up to plenty of mischief on it’s own. Even though they are not currently contributing financially to Hamas, they have a strong anti-Israeli agenda of their own. Examples would include encouraging Israel to divide the land, in contravention of God’s clear commandment.

Joel 3:1-2 For behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,

I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

Joel 3:9-17 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD. Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about. Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.

Muslims in Europe strive for integration

Source: The State.com

April 10, 2006 -- Imagine a style of Islam in which mosques link up with churches to share ideas on spirituality and Muslim scholars spur new schools of thought on how to understand and appreciate life in the West.

That’s what Muslim leaders from across Europe described Saturday as part of broad visions that touched on everything from Islamic law to lesson plans for school children — all aimed at forging a clear European Muslim identity that retains traditions but does not clash with Western values. Some speakers even gave it a name: the “theology of integration.”

But in quieter tones at a conference on Islam’s future in Europe, there was agreement that any significant changes are still a long way off for Europe’s 33 million Muslims at a time when the pressure for reform is mounting. One of the main reasons, experts and scholars said, is the current realities of Islam itself.

The Quran has many passages about tolerance toward non-Muslims amid Islamic settings. But there is almost nothing in Islamic codes or religious texts dealing specifically with issues facing Muslims living as minorities in different cultures.

Others suggested more outreach to Christian groups and churches in Europe to explore common spiritual heritage or requiring teachers in mostly Muslim schools to introduce lessons that stress the children’s European bonds.

Comments:  More and more, we’re seeing a growing propensity for religions of the world to integrate, i.e. find common spiritual ground.  They keep telling people that everyone believes in the same God (by the way, Allah and God of the Bible are two different entities); it’s just that we have different ways of expressing it.  “We’re all going to make it eventually to the Promised Land” is the bold proclamation.

The emerging New World Order wants no faith being excluded in its grandiose plan to unite mankind.  Man is a spiritual being and needs to connect with a higher power.  Islam’s followers represent a significant portion of Earth’s 6.5 billion inhabitants. Even though Islam’s basic tenet is assimilation through conquest rather than live harmoniously with other faiths, other beliefs are bending over backwards to accommodate Islam.  President Bush, a professing Christians, has said Islam is a peaceful religion, but he was being politically correct so as not to offend Muslims.  Anybody who has studied the Quran (Koran) knows that Islam’s goal is to take over the world, however the Western world is doing its best to temper this through dialogue and appeasement.  Any possible common ground must be explored.  The Virgin Mary is revered by both Muslims and Roman Catholics.  That commonality, especially in Catholic Europe, will be tapped to unite Islam with Christianity in a post-Rapture world.

The Jesus Papers tries to strip Jesus of his divinity

Source: TIMES ONLINE

April 10, 2006 -- A Holy war between writers is switching from the High Court to the bookshelves.

One of the authors who last week failed to win a plagiarism case against Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code has written a new book just in time for Easter to question the very tenets of the Christian faith.

Michael Baigent’s The Jesus Papers tries to strip Jesus of his divinity by claiming that he wrote letters to a Jewish court denying that he was the son of God.

The book was published in the United States last week on the same day as the first American paperback version of Brown’s novel.

The Jesus papers in the book’s title are two scrolls supposedly written in Aramaic and found under a house in the old city of Jerusalem in the 1960s. It is claimed they are letters written to the Jewish court, the Sanhedrin, by Jesus, saying he is not the son of God but is filled with the spirit of God.

Baigent also claims he has discovered information about a mysterious document that purports to provide evidence that Jesus was alive in AD45, more than a decade after the accepted date for the crucifixion. The document was supposedly seen by Alfred Lilley, canon at Hereford Cathedral, at a church in Paris in the 1890s but later vanished. Baigent believes it now rests in the Vatican.

Biblical scholars were quick to pour scorn on the claims.

Comments:  The recent vicious attacks on the personage of the Lord Jesus Christ is unprecedented in recent history.  This shows that Satan knows his time is short and he must accelerate his evil machinations on this God rejecting world.  His dupes are unregenerate reprobates who are burning the midnight oil churning out heretic novels that attack the very core of Christianity by creating doubts of who Jesus really is.

In 2006 so far, there was a ludicrous hypothesis that Jesus walked on ice and not water thus there was no miracle; that Jesus had married Mary Magdalene (a common sinner thus He couldn’t be the unblemished Lamb of God who could forgive sinners); that Judas didn’t betray Jesus at all (a false Gospel if there ever was one); and now this abomination, i.e. that Jesus denied He was the Son of God (His divinity is questioned).  All of them utter blasphemies against the Triune Godhead!  If Jesus isn’t God, then every human being on this planet is going to Hell.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.

Atheists are having a field day with all of this, agnostics sitting on the fence are leaning toward “there is no God after all” while some professing Christians might throw off all pretences and show their true colors.  The gross deceptions of Satan are even shaking the faith of true believers as predicted by Jesus.

May God help us as the days grow darker and Satan’s wiles are more ingenious and overt.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

Israel at Security Alert Level C

Source: Arutz Sheva

April 10, 2006 -- Security personnel in Israel went on high alert on Sunday after more than 70 warnings of impending terror attacks continued to flood security offices.

Most were received after 16 Palestinian Authority Arabs were killed in anti‑terrorist activity over the weekend.

Public Security Minister Gideon Ezra has ordered forces to remain at Alert Level C, the second-highest alert level, according to Israel Radio.

Comments:  To say that Israelis are tenser these days than a finely tuned Stradivarius would be understating the reality of the situation.  With Hamas armed to the teeth with Palestinian firepower and sharing common borders with Israel, Iran threatening Israel with long range nukes, Hezbollah in Lebanon lobbying rockets into northern Israel, Syria’s underground missile launchers, and Egypt biding its time to attack Israel once again, the people of Israel are on high alert or they should be if they’re not already.  The separation fence (barrier) that is being erected to divide Jews from Arabs is not 100% protection against attacks.  Somehow, some way, the determined anti‑Zionist terrorists will crash through and create havoc and bloodshed.

Israel’s recent elections for a new prime minister did nothing to neutralize Israelis’s fears.  The opposite has happened.  A coalition government comprised of doves and knee benders only galvanized the hardened enemies of Israel.  Israel’s hawkish leaders of the past (where are they now?) brandished respect in the heart of the Arab/Muslim world.  Today, they chuckle at the prospect of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s feebleness.

Next Year in West Jerusalem

Source: Info Israel

10 April 2006 --The pattern of media distortion and apathy of this Jewish generation, who has adopted "peace at any price," is paving the way for the abandonment of Jerusalem, the writer declares.

Jerusalem, which has been mentioned hundreds of times in the Jewish Bible [about 645 times] and not once in the Koran, may soon be thrown away to appease Arafat's heirs in Hamastan. The successive stages of the absurd "peace processes," beginning with the Madrid Conference, then Oslo, then Barak's concessions, accompanied by Arab terror, have eaten away at the sap of the Israelis' resolve. Little by little they relinquished portions of Judea and Samaria, in Jericho, Hebron, and more. Now, Olmert is planning to uproot 70,000 to 80,000 Jewish residents and give up what is left, for nothing. These insane concessions, urged on by American administrations, the European Union, and the United Nations, are now threatening to divide Jerusalem and establish an Arab capital at the gates of the City, giving up the Temple Mount, which is the holiest Jewish site.

Comments: We should remember very clearly the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza last year. The Jews left all the positions they couldn’t carry in the hands of the Palestinians. Schools, businesses, farms/Vineyards, and houses were left intact. Now the international community lead by the European Union has turned their attention to Jerusalem and the West Bank. The leaders of Israel are set to appease both the Palestinian people and the International community all for the sake of peace and give them what they want. Even today Olmert Plans to Eliminate Dozens of Yesha Communities 68 of them.  Zeph ch. 1 speaks of this time of trouble coming to Jerusalem. In order to understand the title of this article, read the meaning of the famous Jewish phrase of this article. Heed the Words: Next Year in Jerusalem

Zep 1:12 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.

13 Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.

14 ¶ The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

Oil prices surge near $70 barrel

Source: M&C News

Oil prices surged to almost $70 a barrel Monday amid talk of an escalating confrontation with Iran over nuclear ambitions, The Wall Street Journal said.

Comments: Oil and Gold are two classic indicators of an economy possibly in trouble. Gold is trading at a high never seen since 26 years ago and Oil is almost at an all time high. Gold is considered a safe haven for money when the economy is looking bad. Oil at a high, is considered bad for the economy. Both indicators are set to go higher and some analysts are saying Gold will go above $700.00 this year, while Oil will hit 80.00 a barrel. Some of these “high” worries are the fear that Iran may be the next target of the United States. Possibly even tactical Nuclear strikes on their nuclear facilities.

The Black horse is the third rider and seal in Rev Ch 6. The way things are going it looks like it won’t be long before the White and red Horse saddle up and ride.

Re 6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

Keep watching!
