GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Israeli warplanes fired three missiles into the presidential compound of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday, wounding two people and leaving deep craters in the ground. Abbas was not there at the time.
Comments: Ezekiel 38:8-9 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
While there is some debate among scholars as to whether the Ezekiel 38 war will happen pre or post-Rapture, it is certain to come soon. If the Rapture intervened, would you be ready? If your answer is yes, praise God. If not, please go to the link on the main page to learn how to be ready. World events appear to be drawing nigh to the end of history, as we now know it.

New study Bibles aim to help three especially
committed constituencies.
By CT staff | posted 04/03/2006 09:45 a.m.
Of the making of study Bibles there is no end. Our appetite for these handy, one-volume reference libraries continues to produce all-in-one Bibles for every variety of Christian. Three recent entrants to the field display more substance than many…
Of course, any Bible—even the inspired text sans notes! —can assist in spiritual formation. But learning from mature Christians can help.

Comments: Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing hereto sent it.
How many study Bibles does one need? I have 19 different translations and only ever use two. Maybe we should take the money spent on additional fancy Bibles for ourselves and spend it on $1.00 Bibles for outreach ministries, Just my $.02.
U.S. Christian pro-Israel lobby to launch in July
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/701596.html
By Shlomo Shamir
NEW YORK - Televangelist
John Hagee told Jewish community leaders over the weekend that the 40 million
evangelical Christians in the United States support Israel and that he plans to
utilize this power to help Israel by launching a Christian pro-Israel lobby.
The lobby, called Christians United for Israel, is slated to launch in July,
during a Washington conference in which hundreds of American evangelicals are
slated to participate, Hagee said at a meeting of the Conference of Presidents
of Major American Jewish Organizations, which represents 52 national Jewish
groups. He also discussed the lobby with Israel's consul general in New York,
Aryeh Mekel
Comments: Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
What a wonderful thing it is to see American Christians standing in the gap for Israel, but I remain convinced that Israel needs our prayers more than she needs our political lobbying, although that will help Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
While it is true that we are citizens of an heavenly country, we are called to occupy here until Jesus comes. Maranatha, come Lord Jesus.

Canada scraps plans to legalize marijuana
Source: Yahoo News
Monday, April 3, 2006 -- Canada's new Conservative Party Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Monday that Ottawa does not intend to reintroduce legislation to legalize small amounts of marijuana.
Speaking to the Canadian Professional Police Association, Harper received applause when he reiterated that the legislation drawn up by the previous Liberal Party government would not be reintroduced when the new Parliament sits Monday.
The bill, which had alarmed law enforcement officials in Canada and the United States, died on the floor of the House of Commons after the Liberal Party lost elections in January.
Under the bill, getting caught with about half an ounce or less of marijuana would have brought a citation akin to a traffic ticket, not a criminal record. While possession of marijuana would have remained illegal, the bill was intended to prevent young people from being saddled with a lifelong criminal record.
U.S. authorities worried the legislation would have weakened their efforts to curb marijuana exports from Canada, which has numerous marijuana farms, particularly in the lush western province of British Columbia.
Comments: It took a Conservative (normally following Christian values and precepts) Government to overturn a Liberal (humanistic God defying) Government’s plan to legalize something that harms (fries) the brain cells. Countless young people have seen their lives destroyed by marijuana (aka pot/grass). Satan’s effort to continually blind the minds of his minions (so people don’t give God a thought and realize their sinful condition and the need for the Savior Jesus Christ) has been temporarily thwarted by God, but Satan is no quitter. Eventually, his liberal followers will prevail with the next change in government. The Harper Conservatives have a tenuous “minority” government which is relying on the NDP (New Democratic Party aka socialists) to prop them up. If the NDP doesn’t get their way (i.e. promoting their social agenda), they’ll cause the Government to fall. For now, Christian principles hold sway.
An article at WorldNetDaily stated: "Only drug dealers want legalization," wrote one reader, Jim, adding, "Drugs are destroying this country inside and out." Then Jim offered this gem: "It was prophesized in Revelation, 'For by thy sorceries (pharmakeia) were all nations deceived.'" Backing his charge that legalization is bad news, Jim quoted the 18th Chapter of John's Apocalypse, making -- just as Rogers does -- a clear connection between witchcraft and drug use.
Widespread drug use defined the hippie generation of the 1960s and early 1970s and drug taking will be prevalent during the Tribulation Period. This is a sign pointing to Jesus’s 2nd coming.
Revelation 9:21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
Revelation 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

Kadima and Labor set to form partnership
Source: Jerusalem Post
Tuesday, April 4, 2006 -- Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Labor Party Chairman Amir Peretz gave a joint statement early Tuesday afternoon and announced that Kadima and Labor would be partners in forming a governing coalition.
Speaking at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem, Olmert and Peretz said that talks between the two parties would begin as soon as President Moshe Katsav officially chooses Olmert as the best-suited candidate to form the next government.
Earlier Tuesday, Olmert met with Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu and offered him the chance to join a Kadima-led coalition.
Olmert told Netanyahu that though he preferred direct negotiations with the Palestinians, he predicts that they would soon come to a dead end, leaving Israel with no choice but to take unilateral steps.
Netanyahu responded that he also would prefer to negotiate with the Palestinians but is against taking unilateral actions, which he thinks endanger Israel's security.
Comments: Israel’s future looks perilously bleak with a coalition government that is geared toward appeasement and disengagement. The worst possible union (centrist Kadima with leftist Labor) is about to be forged. Negotiations with Israel’s avowed Arab enemies is a misnomer since Islam does not appease its non-adherents. It’s either Islam’s way or death.
Israel’s recent leaders, ex-generals Ehud Barak and Ariel Sharon, have unilaterally withdrawn from Israel’s God given land and the Palestinians have rushed in to fill the vacuum. Israel’s already diminishing land mass may be such that you’ll need a magnifying glass in a few years time. With such a foolhardy policy in place, why would the Arabs even want to talk peace? Just hand over all of Israel to Hamas and the Mideast conundrum is solved.
The Labor Party has always dovish where a hawkish nature would have served Israel’s best interests. Amid intense world pressure to give, give and give even more, Israel’s leaders are buckling like freshly laid asphalt on a scorching day. God is sure displeased with His chosen nation Israel and the world’s nations that have participated in the parting of the land.
Joel 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

Doctor flies into South Dakota to perform abortions
Source: CNN.com
Tuesday, April 4, 2006 -- Not a single doctor in South Dakota will perform an abortion, which is why Dr. Miriam McCreary has come out of retirement.
Once or twice a month, the 70-year-old grandmother takes a 45-minute flight from Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to perform abortions at the last clinic in the state willing to offer the procedure.
"I want every child that's born, to be born into a family that wants a child. I don't want children to be born into a family where they are not wanted and can't be cared for carefully. That's the tragedy," McCreary said.
South Dakota is the focal point of the nation's debate over abortion. Backed by a strong Christian movement, Gov. Mike Rounds signed into law last month a bill that will make performing abortions a felony -- except to save the life of the mother. If unchallenged, it would go into effect this summer.
Comments: The tragedy is that this retired grandmother will have to give an account of her murders before Judge Jesus at the Great White Judgment when she will be asked “Why did you participate in the killing of my little ones?”. She will be speechless. Guilty as charged. The increase in violence (for abortion is violence against the unborn) and murders mirrors that in the days of Noah.
This woman’s open defiance of God’s appointed South Dakotan Government just shows a rebellious heart that’s energized by the Devil who was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44). Killing without a conscience that has been seared through the rejection of Gospel of God and His Son Jesus. And the liberal religious humanists declare that this world is getting better and better each day. The cup of God’s wrath is just about to run over.
Genesis 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
Verse 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
Galatians 5:2] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Revelation 9:21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Saddam Hussein charged with genocide
Source: CNN.com
Tuesday, April 4, 2006 -- Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has been charged for the first time with genocide, Iraqi chief investigative judge Ra'id Juhi announced Tuesday.
Juhi said that investigators had completed their work gathering witnesses and evidence and were ready to go to trial.
Hussein and six co-defendants -- including Ali Hassan al-Majeed, a former Iraqi general known as "Chemical Ali" -- will stand trial for genocide on charges relating to the Anfal campaign against Iraqi Kurds in the late 1980s.
That campaign included the gassing of 5,000 civilians in the village of Halabja in 1988, but Juhi told CNN that the incident was not included in Tuesday's charges and would be prosecuted separately.
Estimates of the number of deaths in the Anfal operation range from 50,000 to nearly 200,000.
Comments: No big surprise here. Saddam’s systematic premeditated extermination of particular groups of people is evidenced by forensic science and the testimonials of survivors. Millions of Iraqis clamour for Saddam’s head on a silver platter. Due to his advanced age and supposedly poor health, will Saddam ever see the day that he’ll be sentenced to die? Will he hang by the gallows Nuremberg style? Will the U.N. step in and plead for clemency? Or will he pass away just like fellow Serbian genocide perpetrator Slobodan Milosevic did last month before earthly justice was served?
In God’s court, Hussein has already been pronounced guilty and deserves a speedy carrying out of the death penalty. Saddam’s murders have consigned many a soul to Hell just like Stalin, Hitler, Mao Tse Tung and Idi Amin before him. The unregenerate heart of man is filled with violence and murder for mankind emulates the Devil who’s the father of murderers.
Ecclesiastes 8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
