Work Starts on Iran-Russia Railway
Source: Alalam

02 December 2007 – Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has inaugurated construction work on a new 900-km railway line linking Iran with Russia across Central Asia.

Berdymukhamedov ceremonially began the construction by laying a section of gilded rail in the northwestern border city of Bereket, near Iran.

He said the line would enable goods to be transported more cheaply between Russian and Central Asia and on to Europe.

According to Turkmenistan's railway ministry the new line will have an annual capacity of between 10 and 12 million tons of freight when it opens in four years.

The railway, seen as an economic boon for the oil- and gas-rich Caspian Sea region, will be some 600 km shorter than the present route.

It will improve Turkmenistan's connections with Russia via Kazakhstan and to the Persian Gulf coast via Iran.

Regional states have adamantly ignored US pleas to bypass Iran and find new routes for Central Asian hydrocarbons export.

Turkmenistan has been opening up to its neighbors in the past year since Berdymukhamedov succeeded former ruler Saparmurat Niyazov.

It is the second-biggest natural gas producer in the former Soviet Union, after Russia.

Comments:  We know that one day Russia, Iran and her allies will one day invade the Middle East with a primary goal of attacking Israel. A railway linking Russia and Iran would be a perfect way to transport heavy equipment such as Tanks, artillery, supplies and troops on a large scale. According to the article this railway will shorten the distance through the Caspian Sea region by 600klm and saving a huge amount of travel time. Russia is not the collapsed empire it once was in fact the Russian economy is growing stronger, boosted by rising oil prices. Russia is the third biggest producer and second biggest exporter of petrol. 15 years ago when Russia was almost a footnote in history and not many people expected Russia would climb out of ruin. That has all changed under Putin. Today the parliamentary elections in Russia have Putin’s party a clear winner and could put him in power for a third term if he decides to stay. Putin has had his eye on the Middle East for years now and there is no doubt that oil is the prize. Please read. Reviving the cold war in the Middle East? An Iran - Russian railway will ratchet up that cold war a few notches.

Eze 38:3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

Fourth earthquake jolts Israel in two-week period; no casualties
Source: Haaretz

02 December 2007 – The fourth earthquake in two weeks shook parts of Israel on Sunday, causing no casualties or damage.

Israel's Geophysical Institute stated that the tremor, which was felt in Holon and Jerusalem, had a magnitude of 4.0. on the Richter Scale. Its epicenter was north of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, on the active Syrian-African rift fault line where earthquakes are common.

"On average, major earthquakes hit Israel once a century. But the recent tremors do not indicate that a large-scale quake is on the way," said Dr. Uri Frieslander, director of the Geophysical Institute.

"What we're seeing are typical movements along the Dead Sea valley," Frieslander told Israel Radio.

None of the recent quakes have caused injuries or damage. But in the past, earthquakes have caused serious damage to Safed, Jerusalem and the West Bank city of Nablus, and have damaged holy sites, including the Al-Aqsa mosque, Islam's third-holiest site, and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, sacred to many Christians as the site of Jesus' crucifixion and burial.

Another quake shakes Israel, West Bank, Jordan

02 December 2007 – A minor earthquake was felt in Israel, Jordan and the West Bank on Sunday, the third in two weeks, without causing injuries or damage, officials said.

The earthquake measured 4.0 on the Richter scale and was felt mostly in Jerusalem, Jericho and near the Dead Sea, said Israel's geophysics institute.

Jordan's Natural Resources Authority reported a quake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale north of the Dead Sea.

The Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Arava desert and the Red Sea farther south lie on the Syrian-African fault line.

Fourth quake in 2 weeks shakes Israel
Source: YNET

02 December 2007 – A mild earthquake was felt throughout Israel Sunday morning, the fourth tremor to be registered in the country in the last two weeks.

Reports of the quake poured in from the Dead Sea, Jerusalem and the Coastal Plain areas.

Head of the Geophysical Institute of Israel Rami Hopshteter reported that the quake measured 4.0 on the Richter Scale, and that the quake's epicenter was, yet again, the Dead Sea.

Last Saturday, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake was felt throughout the country. No injuries or damage were reported.

According to reports, the earthquake hit around 00:19 am, originating in Israel's plains area.

Earlier in the week, two earthquakes, measuring 3 and 4.2 on the Richter scale, were felt throughout Israel, also causing no damage or injuries.

Comments: Update; another small earthquake was felt in Israel today and the main area (again) was around Jerusalem and the Dead Sea region. Is this a Coincidence? We can’t say for sure but Jerusalem was the focus of attention in Annapolis and will be centre stage at the bi-weekly meetings which are scheduled to take place starting Mid-December.

In the past, quakes have caused serious damage to Safed, Jerusalem and the West Bank city of Nablus, and have damaged holy sites, including the Al-Aqsa mosque. We know that a third Temple must be built on the Temple Mount soon and a major earthquake could be the catalyst that causes this rebuilding. Again, we can’t say for sure if this will be the case but Jerusalem is in the news again today and for the fourth time in two weeks it was…trembling. It might not be a coincidence at all.

Note: in the last couple of days earthquakes were registered in… (7.4) Earthquake rocks holiday islands,                  (6.0) Moderate earthquake jolts western coast of Indonesia's Java, (6.3) Strong earthquake hits Indonesia's Aceh, (5.0) Earthquake measuring 5.0 rocks parts of Pakistan, (5.2) Earthquake rocks Dominica

Zec 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
