11 November 2007 – THE defensive missile shield around Israel’s Dimona nuclear reactor was placed on red alert 30 times last week amid fears of an airstrike by Syria.
A battery of American-made Patriot antiaircraft missiles has been moved to Dimona in the Negev desert following intelligence that a strike may be launched in retaliation for Israel’s bombing of a suspected nuclear site in Syria two months ago.
In a highly unusual move, the officers in charge of the missiles were permitted to talk to Israeli state television about their preparations. “We’re ready to launch the missiles in seconds, once we’re on full alert,” said First Lieutenant Adi, a young female officer who is the deputy commander of the battery.
Tension with Damascus has heightened since September 6 when Israeli fighters destroyed the suspected nuclear installation in northern Syria.
“The fact that the Syrians didn’t launch an immediate strike against Israel doesn’t mean that they won’t retaliate in due course,” said an Israeli defence source. “Dimona is on the top of their list.”
Tension is mounting in Israel. “Every civilian aircraft en route from Cairo to Amman, or from Jeddah to Cairo and vice versa, which deviates even slightly from its route, sets off an alarm and risks a missile being fired,” said the female commander of the Patriot battery.
Comments: If Syria were to try and attack Dimona, Israel would respond tenfold. Israel will protect the Dimona Nuclear plant at all cost and any Syrian attack would no doubt lead to an immediate war. 30 red alerts in one week are enough to make Israel edgy and I know I wouldn’t want to be one the officers in charge of the missiles surrounding the plant.
Israel is on alert for an attack, just the same as Iran and is on an alert for an Israeli or U.S. attack. My guess is that Iran and Syria may be planning a pre-emptive strike against Israel before they get their own Nuclear power plants hit. We know Syria had their secret installation destroyed by Israel not long ago.
It seems like there is a race on in the Middle East and this one is called “clear and present danger”
Isa 17:1 ¶ The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

11 November 2007 –
One
hundred policemen raided some 20 government and other offices Sunday
morning, in search of evidence in the investigations against Prime
Minister Ehud Olmert.
Among the offices under search were the Postal Authority, the
Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Israel Lands Authority, the
Jerusalem Municipality, and private offices and residences.
Olmert is being investigated by police regarding four sets of
suspicions, and the police are searching for evidence having to do
with all of them. The four are:
1. Olmert's purchase of a luxury apartment on Cremeiux St. in Jerusalem at a discount of at least $330,000, allegedly in exchange for his influence in the Jerusalem municipality on behalf of the contractor;
2. Olmert's alleged intervention on behalf of two friends during the government's privatization of Bank Leumi;
3. Political appointments by Olmert in the Small Businesses Authority;
4. The Investment Center case, for which State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss has recommended that Olmert be indicted for his intervention in a case involving his friend, former partner and current lawyer Uri Messer.
Olmert was questioned under caution by police investigators for four hours in early October regarding the Bank Leumi case.
Comments: Ehud Olmert’s days as Prime minister may be numbered. There are three investigations involving suspicions of bribery, fraud and breach of trust when Mr. Olmert was a cabinet minister and Jerusalem mayor a few years ago.
The Prime Minister denies any wrongdoing, but if indicted he could be forced to step down. The investigations have eroded public support for Olmert, whose popularity is already low. The trouble now is, if Olmert feels that his leadership is in jeopardy, he could try and make territorial concessions to the Palestinians at the peace conference at the end of this month. Olmert might feel that he has nothing to loose and more to gain with a peace agreement with the Palestinians.
Keep an eye on this investigation, they may try and charge Olmert before Annapolis.
Isa 28:14 ¶ Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
