High alert level maintained in North
Source: Jpost
23 September 2007 – The IDF has
maintained a high alert level in the North following suspicions that
Syria might attack
Israel
or other Jewish targets around the world via international terror
proxies, Israel Radio reported.
On Sunday morning, IDF troops were alerted to the northern border fence after the electronic alarm was activated, sparking fears of a possible infiltration from Syria.
The army said the alarm went off after the fence was touched, and that tracks were spotted on the Syrian side of the border.
Soldiers who arrived on the scene ruled out an infiltration, and the IDF said it was possible that a roving animal had triggered the alarm.
Over the past few days, IAF jets were alerted twice following suspicious activity in the Golan Heights. On Saturday, IAF fighter jets were alerted to the northern border with Syria after a Syrian military jet that was being tracked by Israel disappeared from military radar systems.
A short time later, the IAF discovered that the Syrian jet had crashed in Syrian territory. The IAF jets returned to their bases and the level of alert was lowered.
Comments:
Sooner or later Syria will try and get their revenge for the IAF
attack on the Syrian Nuclear target but Israel is ready for it.
Syria’s (terror) proxy, the Hezbollah would be a likely avenue for a
limited strike and a number of Katyusha into Israel may satisfy
Syria for now. Israel would avoid a conflict with the Hezbollah and
would only retaliate with some artillery back into Lebanon to
counter any adventure. The longer Syria waits to get even the more
dangerous the attack would probably be if Syria plans the engagement
over a period of time. A cross border infiltration or a limited
attack by Syria itself might be in the planning stages, but only
time will tell. One thing is for sure and that is…Syria will be
sending a message back to Israel sooner or later and it is anyone’s
guess at what the consequences will be. A botched plan or a deadly
attack could send things spiralling out of control like it did last
summer. The Golan remains on a knife edge and both sides are jumpy
and on high alert as we can see from the article above. As long as
the situation remains on high alert, we need to keep watching the
situation there.

Quarry for Temple Mount's Giant Rocks - Found
Source: Arutz
23 September 2007 – The Antiquities Authority announced today that
it has found the quarry that supplied the giant stones for the
building of the Temple Mount. The quarry is located in what is now
one of Jerusalem's newest neighborhoods, Ramat Shlomo (also known as
Reches Shuafat), between Ramot and French Hill. The quarry was
found in the course of an archaeological rescue dig prior to the
construction of a neighborhood school.
The ancient quarry is spread out over at least five dunams (1.25 acres), with rocks between three and eight meters long - the size of those that can still be seen today at the foundations of the Temple Mount and in the Western Wall - hewn out of the ground.
Divine Regards
Rabbi Chaim
Richman of the Temple Institute
in Jerusalem told Arutz-7 that the discovery of the quarry was both
historically dramatic and spiritually exhilarating: "Precisely now,
when the Moslems are trying to erase all vestiges of the presence of
our Holy Temple, and when even among our own leaders there is a
trend towards giving it away and viewing it as an unnecessary burden
- precisely now, with this discovery,
G-d is sending the
Jewish People a kiss, as if to say, 'Don't worry, I haven't
forgotten you; there are those who want to give it [the Temple
Mount] away or take it away from you,
but I still
have big plans for both you and for the Holy Temple - and the Temple
will yet become the focal point of the world once again."
Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupoliansky has ordered a halt to the
school-building plans, budgeting 350,000 shekels ($86,500) for the
archaeological work.
Comments: This might not seem like such a big deal as new historical discoveries are made in Israel quite often. But considering the time period we are living in and the expectation that the Jews will rebuild their 3rd Temple, this discovery may have biblical implications. We know that the 3rd Jewish Temple must be in place prior to the mid - point of Daniels seventieth week (7 year period) and all the temple treasure needed to rebuild are almost all in place or replaced and have been prepared by the Temple Institute in Jerusalem. We know that in order to rebuild the 3rd Temple the character and color of the stone used is similar to that from which the First and Second Temples were made. So in other words, this latest discovery in Israel “the quarry that supplied the giant stones for the building of the Temple Mount” may not be a coincidence but a supply of stone for the new Temple. Is this another indication that the 3rd temple will be rebuilt soon? According to Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Institute and this article it might be. I’m sure we will be reading about this again soon.
Am 9:11 ¶ In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
Re 11:1 ¶ And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
Da 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
