Arabs push to have Syria & Lebanon included in Mideast peace conference in Washington
Source: www.winnipegfreepress.com
August 8, 2007 -- The importance of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's meeting Monday with the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, is not because of its results, which were meagre; rather it lies in the American effort to consolidate a strong anti-Iranian front in the Arab world and in the Persian Gulf.
The parameters of the Olmert-Abbas meeting were known even before it was held. Both have agreed to draft a "declaration of principles" in advance of the proposed international conference in Washington, which has now been delayed until mid-November. They also agreed that such a declaration should deal with the "core issues" of final borders, Jerusalem and Palestinian refugees.
Their agreement, however, ends there. Olmert wants a vague declaration with no binding dates for execution. Abbas wants a detailed agreement in principle on final borders, Jerusalem and refugees. The implementation could take longer, but the principles should be agreed upon before the conference is convened. Thus, despite the excellent optics, there were no concrete and immediate results.
All these developments make it extremely difficult to predict the outcome of the future international peace conference proposed by Rice and supported in different degrees by the various moderate pro-western Arab countries. Whether tactically or genuinely, Egypt and Saudi Arabia want the conference to include Syria and Lebanon.
The two countries maintain that both Syria and Lebanon have accepted the 2002 Saudi peace plan that calls for total Israeli withdrawal in return for "normal relations" with all the 22 Arab countries.
Can Israel deal simultaneously with the Palestinian issue and a possible withdrawal from the Golan Heights? Despite the nine-month constitutional crisis in Lebanon, Prime Minister Siniora wants his country to be included in the Washington conference next November. Could he do that, even if a new Lebanese president is not elected in September and in spite of Hezbollah's opposition and Syrian subversion?
No less doubtful is the Palestinian representation. Mahmoud Abbas said that he will call "very soon" for new parliamentary elections in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Hamas is in full control in Gaza and its strength in the West Bank is unknown. Could Abbas ignore Hamas, when even Saudi Arabia calls for Palestinian reconciliation according to the Mecca Accord?
Comments: Readers, don’t be terribly disappointed or petrified if think you’ve missed out on the Rapture event if we believers haven’t been raptured after the Israelis and the Palestinians have signed a peace deal and the new state of Palestine is declared. Without peace agreements on the Syrian and Lebanese fronts and an overall peace with the Arab/Muslim world, Daniel 9:27 may not be confirmed. The Israel-Palestinian situation, although a big part of the picture, is not the “be all to end all.” Syria will still be on the verge of attacking Israel to reclaim the Golan Heights and Hezbollah will still be firing rockets and missiles into Northern Israel.
It’s so vital that both Syria and Lebanon be invited to take part in the upcoming November 2007 peace conference to be held in Washington, USA. Even so, based on past experiences with the Arabs/Muslims, expect the peace conference to disintegrate like a cheap polyester suit right before our very eyes. The diplomats will resort to name calling and board jets back to their respective Middle Eastern countries where they’ll rally their militaries to go to war against Israel.

ABC Family Channel's 'Fallen' miniseries' "redeemer" forgave Lucifer & fallen angels
Source: rapturealert.blogspot.com: Commentary by Richard B. Holycross
August 8, 2007 -- ABC Family Channel, which sounds like a place where programs should be more acceptable for children's viewing, ran a mini-series over the weekend called Fallen. In a nutshell, the story is about a high school kid who grew up in foster care and on his 18th birthday, begins to realize that he's different. It turns out the kid is a nephilim which is the child of a human mother and an angel father. When God threw Lucifer and his followers out of heaven, several of the angels chose to go to earth, rather than to hell with Lucifer. Those angels who chose earth are called fallen angels, hence the name of the mini-series. These fallen angels had children with human women and nephilim were the result. Many believe that Goliath, the "giant" that David killed, was an example of a nephilim. The mini-series goes on and tells the story of this special nephilim (the teenage main character) who was called the redeemer and had the power to redeem any of the fallen angels and send them back to heaven.
In one of the first conversations that the "redeemer" has with one of the fallen angels, he mentions God and the fallen angel corrects him by saying that the proper term is "The Creator". The fallen angel goes on to say that God is too constricting and that The Creator is God, Allah, Jehovah, and all others, rolled into one.
Then, as one of the fallen is riding in a car with the "redeemer", they pass a billboard where someone has spray painted Jesus Saves over the advertisement and the fallen angel asks "Who is this Jesus character?" (There I am, starting to squirm a little, just hearing Jesus referred to as a "character") The redeemer answers "Some believe He is the son of God."
It turns out that Lucifer fathered "the redeemer" in hopes that "the redeemer" would send him back to heaven.
All of these things were upsetting to me, but the most damaging of all messages was that this boy called "the redeemer" had the power to send the fallen back to heaven. The fallen angels were those who were created by God and then, with Lucifer, chose to turn against God and after being defeated were cast out of heaven forever. This teenage boy had the power to forgive these angels of a punishment that was levelled by God Himself. So, this son of Lucifer was, by all accounts, more powerful than God as he had the ability to reverse the damnation of the Lord of all creation. This "redeemer" had the ability to forgive Lucifer and return Satan himself to heaven. I don't know how else to say it to help it sink in. This is a message that was being televised over and over and over, all weekend.... on the ABC FAMILY channel.
For those of you who are wondering why I'm so upset... there is only one redeemer and He is the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who died an excruciating, demeaning and humiliating death, so that those who believe in Him would not have to experience an eternity of damnation and NOBODY else is deserving of that name. By simply referring to the boy as "the redeemer" is an outrage in itself. But, to have the "redeemer" be the son of Satan and to give him power to overturn a punishment from God is simply unbelievable.
Comments: Mark 2:[7] Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? [10] But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy). The only Redeemer is the Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t believe the Devil’s lie that a fallen angel can save people’s souls. Lucifer-Satan-The Dragon-The Devil, they’re all the same spirit entity who first sinned (see Isaiah 14) against God and as such, has earned the Lake of Fire along with the 1/3 of created angels that partook in the rebellion against God.
No, ABC’s FAMILY CHANNEL (a Disney creation no less) isn’t a safe TV channel for Christian and unsaved kids. All sorts of shows on this network depict magic and the occult and this “Fallen” miniseries followed along the lines of the religious but lost “Highway to Heaven” and “Touched By An Angel” TV series in promoting the concepts of universalism, good works and belief in God by making no mention of faith in Jesus Christ being the only way to Heaven. This so called “redeemer” fallen angel’s mocking of Jesus and his stated purpose of forgiving Lucifer and pulling him out of his eventual fate in the Lake of Fire can only be described as utter blasphemy against God’s Holy Spirit. Children are so susceptible to this kind of satanic brainwashing and propaganda that if not for God’s direct intervention, most of our kids would soak in Satan’s lies like a blotter.

Could the Antichrist come from Islam? Will Roman Catholicism merge with Islam?
Source: www.gracethrufaith.com
August 8, 2007 -- A. Yes I believe the anti-Christ will be a theistic leader. After all, his goal is to be worshiped as God. I also think he could turn out to be Islamic.
But there's an interesting polarization shaping up among Christian scholars, separating those who've always held that the Catholic Church would emerge as the one world religion of the end times, (with a European anti-Christ) from those who remember that the Roman Empire also had an Eastern component, much of which is Islamic today. They contend that the ruler spoken of in Daniel 9:26 who will emerge from the old Roman Empire could as easily come from the Middle East as from Western Europe.
Some believe that after the faithful are taken in the Rapture, the remnant of Catholicism won't have as much trouble as one might expect in merging with Islam, especially if they're helped along by a few apparitions. And I've read that more Moslems who convert wind up in the Catholic Church than any other denomination. There must be some level of comfort between the two.
Connecting the woman of Rev. 17 and the woman of Zechariah 5, both of whom personify wickedness, provides an additional clue. In Rev 17:9 we're told the woman sits on seven hills, thought by most to be a reference to Rome. In Zech.5:9-11 the woman is being moved to a place which will have been prepared for her on the plains of Shinar, an obvious reference to Babylon, in the heart of Islamic territory.
Will the center for the one world religion be moved from Rome to Babylon at the End of the Age? By comparing the two passages, some are seeing just that.
Comments: Have you noticed the increase in the number of believers who have switched from speculating that the Antichrist (AC) will be a European to being a Muslim from an obscure Islamic nation? Way back in 1999, Brother Sal floated this concept and it has gained a wide audience. The fact that the AC will be a theist (a belief in one God albeit Allah), will honour the god of forces, and will put to death (via beheading) all those who refuse to take his Mark, all this would point to a Muslim AC. Also, Islam is a growing religion (900 million by the last estimate) by leaps and bounds even in the Western countries. Islam will not go away and I can’t see it being wiped off the face of the earth by Western militaries. Then you have 1.2 billion Catholics who revere the “Virgin” Mary who is also held in high esteem by Islam and this commonality could merge these two false religions as one during the Tribulation Period. Both stem from Babylonian roots of paganism and idolatry. The book of Revelation says much about physical and mystical Babylon which will be judged by the Lord. In the days of the Apostles, Rome (the seat of the popes) was code named Babylon. Ancient Babylon produced the Mother of Harlots, the Roman Catholic Church. The apparitions of Mary around the world are demonic spirits manifesting themselves as Mary and millions of Catholic and Muslim faithfuls are being bamboozled and don’t even know it. That’s how insidious it is!

Survey: How American baby boomers view the afterlife
Source: THE CHRISTIAN POST
August 8, 2007 -- Most of America's baby boomers and senior citizens believe in an afterlife and an overwhelming majority believe in God, a survey revealed.
The study found that 73 percent of respondents agree strongly or somewhat with the statement "I believe in life after death." Women are more likely to believe in the afterlife (80 percent) than men (64 percent).
Eighty-six percent believe in heaven while 70 percent believe in hell.
Almost all respondents believe in God (94 percent). Those who consider themselves "very" religious almost all believe they would get into heaven (97 percent) while 85 percent of those who consider themselves "somewhat" religious and 75 percent of those who are "not at all" religious think they would get into heaven.
When asked to give a percentage of people they believe will go to heaven, those who believe in heaven said on average 64 percent of people will go.
When asked who they think will enter heaven if there is a heaven, 29 percent of respondents think people who believe in Jesus Christ will get in to heaven; 25 percent think people who are good go to heaven; 10 percent think people who believe in one God gets in; 10 percent think everyone gets in to heaven; and another 10 percent think people who are religious/have faith gets in.
When asked about hell, 31 percent of respondents think people who are bad will go to hell; 17 percent think people who do not believe in Jesus Christ will go; 15 percent think people who do not believe in God will go; and 9 percent think people who have sinned will go.
Only 20 percent say they fear death and what happens to them after they die. Those who say they are only slightly religious and those who believe in hell are more likely than most to be afraid of death. The strongest predictor of fear of death is a belief that once one dies, that's the end.
Also, 53 percent strongly or somewhat agree that spirits or ghosts exist; 24 percent at least somewhat agree that when they die, that's the end; and 23 percent at least somewhat believe in reincarnation.
Comments: Believing in the afterlife or being religious won’t save a single soul. A person must believe that Jesus died for his/her sins and shed His blood to wash his/her sins away. This is the only entrance ticket to Heaven. How many Western nations have heard the true Gospel of God? I believe a lot of baby boomers have heard how to get saved, but have not acted on it. Many have flatly rejected Jesus as their Saviour and instead are resting on their church membership and/or good works to garner God’s favour. This survey revealed that only 29 percent of respondents think people who believe in Jesus Christ will get in to heaven. Notice the word “think” versus “know”. So even among the 29%, not all know they’re saved. The rest of the baby boomers are travelling on the broad way that leads to eternal destruction. It doesn’t help any when universalists such as Della Reese (Touched By An Angel fame) and Oprah Winfrey preach that all roads lead to God. They’re paid spoke‑persons for the Devil and well paid they are, i.e. with their souls.
The bottom line isn’t whether one believes in a heaven and/or a hell, but whether one is truly trusting Jesus Christ for their everlasting salvation. Even believing that there is a God won’t count for anything come Great White Judgment day. The Devil and his demons also believe in God and they’re definitely going to be dammed.
