U.S. offers increased military aid to give Israel an edge over the Arabs

August 18, 2007 -- The United States offered Israel an unprecedented $30 billion of military aid over 10 years on Thursday, bolstering its closest Mideast ally and ensuring the state's military edge over its neighbors long into the future.

 

The package was meant in part to offset U.S. plans to offer Saudi Arabia advanced weapons and air systems that would greatly improve the Arab country's air force. Israel has voiced no opposition to the Saudi aid.

 

The deal represents a 25 percent rise in U.S. military aid to Israel, from a current $2.4 billion a year to $3 billion a year over the next 10 years.

 

Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns said the package is meant to back peace-seeking countries such as Israel and moderate Arab states in the region to counter U.S. adversaries such as Iran.

 

Comments:  The Jewish lobbyists in the U.S. Congress have done it again.  This increase in military aid is mostly due to their tireless efforts to ensure the survivability of the Jewish state.  Yes, the U.S. also sends hi-tech military equipment to ‘moderate’ Arab states such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, but only Israel receives the latest and best.  In the past, the Arabs had complained about the disparate treatment, but the White House did not back down. Supposedly, the stuff the Arabs get is to protect them against fellow Arab states and not to be used against Israel.  But, we all know that’s just what the Arabs will do.

 

This pro-Israel stance has not endeared the Americans with the Arab League.  America isn’t viewed as an impartial Middle East mediator.  The upcoming November 2007 international peace conference is sure to be fraught with accusations of America looking out for Israel’s interests.  The conference’s successful outlook is not good at all.

Domino's Pizza founder builds Ave Maria Catholic community in Florida

"Some say 'That's a pretty name,"' said resident-to-be Stephen Narcisco. "I think of the Holy Mother. It's her town, a spiritual town. It's blessed."

 

Tom Monaghan, a devout man who founded Domino's Pizza and bankrolled the town and college with $450 million, envisioned Ave Maria (Latin for "Hail Mary") as a community where families can live and play and grow in their faith, a place as happy and wholesome -- and Catholic -- as the 1945 film The Bells of St. Mary's.

 

The 70-year-old philanthropist's stated goal is to help others get to heaven.

 

But the future home of as many as 25,000 isn't some Catholic Mayberry.

 

Monaghan backed off his initial plans to ban adult cable channels and prohibit the sale of contraceptives in the town after the American Civil Liberties Union raised constitutional issues and threatened legal action.

 

In many ways the community resembles any other master-planned residential development.

 

Drive 40 kilometres east of Naples and turn off a county road at a waterfall entrance onto winding Ave Maria Boulevard. A string of balloons rising high into the sky leads visitors to a row of earth-tone model homes with tile roofs.

 

You won't find nuns at the sales office greeting prospective buyers.

 

Pulte Homes is a secular enterprise and doesn't discriminate against non-Catholics. Ave Maria's primary builder will sell a four-bedroom, three-bath or smaller house, complete with marble bathroom fixtures, to people of any or no faith pending loan approval.

 

"This is not a Catholic community," Blake Gable said, reciting what has become his mantra.

 

'God has given me a lot of confidence and enthusiasm,' Ave Maria founder Tom Monaghan says.

 

Gable is a vice-president and project manager for Barron Collier Cos., Monaghan's partner in this endeavour. The developer wants the town to grow into an inclusive, diverse community.

 

Gable is an Episcopalian. Monaghan's wife, he noted, is a Lutheran.

 

Comments:  Exodus 20:[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: [5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 1 John 5:[21] Little children, keep yourselves from idols.  The Virgin Mary cannot get a person to Heaven and neither can devout Catholic Tom Monaghan as hard he might try.  True Catholicism is about placing a mere mortal Mary above the Lord Jesus Christ which is blatant idolatry and a breaking of the First Commandment.  Any works based idolatrous religion is man centered and prevents their adherents from entering Heaven.

 

Mr. Monaghan might be a sincere Catholic, but sincerity doesn’t earn brownie points with God.  Does Mr. Monaghan have Christ as his Savior?  Doesn’t seem so as he didn’t even mention Jesus once in this article.  Sola Christo ought to be his message instead of Ave Maria.  He’s only one of some 1.2 billion deluded souls bamboozled by the Devil.  How can Catholics be so blind you ask?  The answer is that the Devil has blinded their minds so that they can’t discern the lies they’ve been fed since as a child.  The Roman Catholic Church is in the slave business and those chained to this church are powerless to break free.  If they would look to Jesus, He will free them and save them.  Mr. Monaghan may think he’s a free agent and abundantly blessed, but it’s not a blessing from God, but a selling out to the Devil in exchange for the gain of this world that the Devil owns due to Adam’s forfeiture as a result of his sinful downfall.

Disney's ABC Family offers programs rife with sex, illegal drug use, drinking

Disney's ABC Family network promotes many ideas and practices discouraged by conservatives and traditional family advocates. The channel, for instance, often broadcasts programming rife with sex, illegal drug use, drinking and profanity.

 

ABC Family's newest show, "Greek," showcases a college freshman's introduction to fraternity life at fictional Cyprus-Rhodes University. The show features underage drinking, copious profanity and sexual situations -- many of the stereotypes associated with college fraternities.

 

Common Sense Media warned that the program was not appropriate for minors under 14 years of age.

 

"The rating of TV-PG SDL suggests that this kind of content is appropriate for children as long as there is parental guidance. Does the entertainment industry really believe that constant sexual slang and dialogue, sex scenes, binge drinking, partying and women using their sexuality to manipulate men is appropriate viewing for children?"

 

Comments:  Matthew 18:[6] But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. If Walt Disney were alive today, would be recoil in horror to see the degradation of the company he founded?  He would be aghast no doubt.  He wanted his company to provide clean family programming which won’t cause anyone to blush with embarrassment.  He would have fired any writer, producer or director for content containing sex, illegal drug use, drinking and profanity.  But, Mr. Disney died decades ago and he was frozen so decades or centuries later, science/medicine would have found a cure for the disease that killed him.

 

His successor Michael Eisner has taken the company down the slippery slope of moral depravity.  His prime directive is increased profits and giving teenagers what they want and not what they need in terms of Judaic-Christian values.  He’s accountable to God for promoting the Devil’s filth leading to the breakdown of society itself.  Disney's ABC Family used to be a “safe” channel for the kids, but now that has all changed.  In an attempt to attract teens, the programming has caved into the same life issues that HBO and other morally bankrupt networks are offering.  There’s a saying, “Beware of Greeks bearing gifts” alluding to the Trojan Horse that led to Troy’s downfall.  One can also say “Beware of Disney”.

Israel's immigration issue

August 19, 2007 -- Israel said Sunday it will no longer allow refugees from Darfur to stay after they sneak across the border from Egypt, drawing criticism from those who say the Jewish state is morally obliged to offer sanctuary to people fleeing mass murder.

 

Israel has been grappling for months over how to deal with the swelling numbers of Africans, including some from Darfur, who have been crossing the porous desert border.

 

Comments:  Leviticus 20:[24] But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.  Some have accused Israel of racism.  Is it really? What about the thousands of “black” Ethiopian Jews (some linked them to the love affair between King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba; it’s been said that King David had his Bathsheba and his son King Solomon had his Sheba) who were airlifted to Israel in the 1990s as God’s bringing them to Israel?  Quite a few Israeli Jews even questioned their ethnicity whether they were indeed Jews due to their skin color.  I suppose that mankind is racist in general due to ignorance, fear or a sense of superiority.  In the case of Israel, she’s concerned that an influx of non-Jewish refugees, if not stopped, would tip the balance of the population in favour of Muslims.  Israel must be predominately Jewish; that’s God’s commandment to the children of Israel.  Intermixing and inter-marry are not God’s wishes, but the opposite.  In the days of Moses and Joshua, the Israelites were to drive out the Gentiles from the land bequeathed to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

U.S. forces tracking Iranians inside Iraq

August 20, 2007 -- American forces are tracking about 50 members of an elite Iranian force who have crossed the border into southern Iraq to train Shiite militia fighters, a top U.S. general said Sunday.

 

In east Baghdad, a mortar barrage slammed into a mainly Shiite neighborhood, killing 12 and wounding 31, police said, and a major battle raged north of the capital where residents of a Shiite city were fighting what police said was a band of al-Qaida in Iraq gunmen.

 

Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, whose command includes the volatile southern rim of Baghdad and districts to the south, said his troops are tracking about 50 members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps in their area - the first detailed allegation that Iranians have been training fighters within Iraq's borders.

 

"We know they're here and we target them as well," he said, citing intelligence reports as evidence of their presence.

 

Comments:  Genesis 16:[12] And he (Ishmael) will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. If Saddam Hussein were alive, he would be doing the same thing as the U.S. military.  Iran likes to meddle in other countries’ internal strife.  In this case, Shiite Iran wants to arm and fuel the Iraqi Shiites in their conflict with Iraq’s Sunnis.  Muslims fighting their fellow brother Muslims is not uncommon.  That’s a conundrum that has perplexed the Arab League and Muslim world for millennia.  It goes way back to the days of their progenitor Ishmael whom God placed this propensity for in-fighting.  It was God’s way of ensuring the survival of Isaac’s descendants.

 

Iran will not stop until all Western forces leave Iraq.  It will then rush in to fill the vacuum.  Part of Iraq used to comprise a portion of the Persian Empire.  Turkey and Syria also lay claim to portions of Iraq.  Like a rump roast, it seems that everyone wants to carve up Iraq.  The spoils are the rich oil fields of Iraq which the U.S. will not allow Iran to appropriate.  There’s so much at stake and with the American public and the liberal Democrats demanding U.S. withdrawal from Iraq, an Iranian, Syrian and Turkish takeover appears to be evitable thus setting the stage for the pre-Gog Magog War conditions of Ezekiel 38/39.
