EU to Tony Blair: Turn the screws on the Jews

Source: www.jnewswire.com

Ten European Union foreign ministers Monday messaged newly-appointed Middle East envoy Tony Blair to increase the pressure on Israel to make more "concessions for peace."

And they let the former British prime minister know that they want to see an international conference on the Arab-Israeli conflict convened, one at which Israel would stand decidedly alone against the pro-"Palestinian" world.

They also called for an examination of the idea, put forward by Abbas, that a robust international force be brought into the PA areas to impose a ceasefire between rival Arab factions.

Israel has always resisted suggestions that foreign troops be introduced into the Jews' ancient homeland, knowing that once inside it would be difficult to get them out.

Comments:  What gives here?  Just last week, it was reported that newly appointed Middle East envoy Tony Blair would work exclusively with the Palestinians to get their act together and that Blair won’t be involved as a mediator of peace between Arabs and Jews.  Has his job description been revised already?  Perhaps his job description has the usual catch-all “perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor”.  Whatever it is, Mr. Blair doesn’t mind one bit if he has to put in some overtime for his masters.  He’s there anyway.  He might as well have a dialogue with Israel’s leaders to get them to be more charitable to the Palestinians.  Give, give, give until it literally hurts and then give some more.

An international peace conference is just what the Arabs would like.  It’s a venue where Israel is ganged up by the world community.  It would be no different than the U.N. except it will be the Arab League vs. Israel in a one-fall, no time limit, no disqualification, handicap match.  The EU, NATO or the UN would be called upon to station their troops to separate Arabs from Israelis in the post-peace treaty world.  One by one, steps are being proposed and eventually implemented in the determined march toward Middle East peace.

Dismay and anger as Pope Benedict declares Protestants cannot have churches

Source: www.guardian.co.uk

Other Christians saw the latest document as another retreat from the spirit of openness generated by the Council, which laid the basis for talks on Christian unity. Bishop Wolfgang Huber, head of the Protestant umbrella group Evangelical Church in Germany, said: "The hope for a change in the ecumenical situation has been pushed further away by the document published today."

He said the new pronouncement repeated "offensive statements" in the 2000 document and was a "missed opportunity" to improve relations with Protestants. The president of the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Italy, pastor Domenico Maselli, called it a "huge step backwards in relations between the Roman Catholic church and other Christian communities".

A statement from the French Protestant Federation warned that the internal document would have "external repercussions".

Comments:  Martin Luther has been vindicated.  His refusal to bow to the Roman Catholic Church and his “Sola Scriptura (scriptures only)” insistence when it came to soul salvation irked the pope at that time and added impetus to the Protestant movement in which droves of dissatisfied Catholics left the RCC.

Centuries later, the Rome‑led spirit of ecumenism caused the Protestants to mellow somewhat and by all accounts, the road to conciliation between the daughters and the mother church was being steadily paved.  Now, in one day, Pope Benedict awoke the Protestants to the unchanged true nature of Rome.  Sometimes, it takes a bucket of cold ice water to get someone’s attention.  The evangelicals are standing at attention and are seeing clearly again while the spiritually dead liberal mainline Protestants are cautiously waiting for the floodwaters to subside before they give their response.  Is ecumenism dead in the waters?  Perhaps not, but it has taken a major blow to its portside.  Either Pope Benedict was out of his mind with his declaration that the Roman Catholic Church only can call itself the true Church (all other churches are counterfeit) or God has allowed this wake-up call to speak to Protestants worldwide to quit snoozing up to the Romish Church and turn to God’s Holy Bible to receive the Truth before judgment falls on all of Christendom.

Evangelicals and Muslims met in Egypt

Source: www.washingtontimes.com

Muslims and evangelical Christians are talking — at least behind closed doors at the Egyptian Embassy — according to several guests at a top-secret lunch last week.

The July 2 gathering lasted two hours and featured ambassadors from nine Arab states plus their umbrella group, and several prominent evangelical leaders or their sons.

"They were assessing the next generation," said Richard Cizik, vice president for governmental affairs of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) and one of the participants. "The meeting was reflective of the generational changes that are happening, and everyone knew it."

The meeting, which was orchestrated by Pentecostal evangelist Benny Hinn, focused on two issues, though the two groups had differing priorities. Whereas the Americans wanted to discuss the lack of religious freedom in Muslim countries, the ambassadors wanted to know whether Christians could become more "balanced" in their support of Israel.

"One of the ambassadors mentioned that American Christians seemed always to favor Israel in all situations, even when Israel was wrong," wrote the Rev. Jonathan Falwell, son of the late Rev. Jerry Falwell and pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Va., in a column last week for WorldNetDaily.com that described the meeting as "historic."

"The Egyptian ambassador [Nabil Fahmy] began by graciously saying that we should not worry about diplomacy at this meeting," wrote Mr. Falwell, who attended along with Ron Godwin, executive vice president of Liberty University. "He went on to emphasize that we should have an open, honest conversation about what is necessary for bridges to be built between Islam and American Christians."

Comments:  Spiritual idolatry is what this is.  There can be no meeting of minds when it comes to true Christianity and pagan Islam.  Building a bridge between these two faiths is akin to connecting democratic Alaska with Communist Siberia.  It would be a union made in Hell.  I can understand the prosperity huckster Benny Hinn involved in this deceptive charade, but I cannot fathom what compelled Jerry Falwell’s son to attend this meeting.  What good can possibly come out of this?  Christians are to be separate from all other faiths and religions.   We’ve been called dogmatic and intolerant in our beliefs. So be it!   Jesus (not Allah) is the only way to Heaven.  This article is just another prime example of the One World Religion of love, acceptance and harmony that has pervaded the religious world.  So be it!

Barroso says EU is an 'empire'

Source: EUObserver.com

Veering into uncharted naming territory after being asked on Tuesday (10 July) by a journalist what kind of a structure the 27-nation bloc is, Mr Barroso said "We are a very special construction unique in the history of mankind,"

"Sometimes I like to compare the EU as a creation to the organisation of empire. We have the dimension of empire," he said.

He went on the clarify that instead of like super state empires of old, the EU empire is built on voluntary pooling of power and not on military conquest.

"What we have is the first non-imperial empire," said the centre-right Mr Barroso, who was formally Portugal's prime minister.

"We have 27 countries that fully decided to work together and to pool their sovereignty. I believe it is a great construction and we should be proud of it."

Comments:   The ‘E’ word invokes memories of Alexander the Great, Peter and Catherine the Great, Charlemagne, Napoleon, Bismarck and Adolph Hitler who boasted that the Third Reich (Nazi Germany) would be an imperial empire that will last a thousand years.  Military conquest defined each of the aforementioned abbreviated empires.  Today, the Revived Roman Empire in the making, i.e. with the EU leading the resurgence, is crowing like a rooster.  ‘Superstate’ is no longer an adequate moniker to describe this economical and political monstrosity.  27 member nations may have come together without military enforcement, but once it has reconnected with the Mediterranean and North Africa portions of the Old Roman Empire, it will be an indeed an ‘empire’ once again with military teeth to crush any and all rebellious opponents.  It will last a thousand years?  No, just as with the Old Roman Empire, its fate rests with God who will judge its Antichrist leader and his spiritual sidekick, the False Prophet, at the physical return of Jesus Christ.  The Son (of God) will set on the Revived Roman Empire.

Israeli FM Tzipi  Livni: Israel should not enter talks with Syria

Source: Jerusalem Post

Israel should not talk to Syria, and the region as a whole should deal with the country, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said in an interview with French magazine Le Nouvel Observateur on Thursday.

Livni also said Syria is "the regional center of support for terrorism," and its association with Iran creates danger for the region.

Earlier Thursday Reuters reported that Syria has signalled to the UN's Middle East envoy a willingness to change its relationship with Iran, Hizbullah and Hamas if progress were made towards a peace deal with Israel.

UN special envoy Michael Williams told Reuters in an interview that he has conveyed to top Israeli officials his "impressions" from talks with Syrian leaders in recent months, but acknowledged deep-rooted suspicions on both sides would make reviving the peace process difficult.

Comments:  Syria is being backed into a corner from which it may not be able to extricate itself without confronting Israel militarily.  Israel won’t talk with Syria about returning the Golan Heights to Syria because Syria won’t stop supporting Hezbollah and Hamas, the H&H brothers who want Israel exterminated.  Syria also wants Israel’s riddance so there’s a genocide issue here.  Israel’s message to Syria is simply: Do a 180 degree turn and acknowledge the Jewish state’s right to exist, renounce terrorism in words and in deeds, and stand down militarily.  Of course, Syria President Bashar Al-Assad will not comply with these onerous pre-conditions to peace talks with Israel.  When push comes to shove, it will be Syria that will sport a bloody nose.

Syria’s possibility of changing its relationship with Iran, Hizbullah and Hamas is as hollow a gesture as the Rothschilds divesting all of their wealth like Warren Buffett.  It will not happen.
