EU states call for Mideast peace conference

Source: www.ynetnews.com

The foreign ministers of France, Italy, Spain and seven other European states called on Monday for an international conference on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and said Israel should make more concessions for peace.

In an open letter to new big-power Middle East envoy Tony Blair, the foreign ministers of the EU's Mediterranean states - Bulgaria, Cyprus, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Malta, Romania and Slovenia - welcomed Arab states' efforts for peace following the stalled US-backed "road map".

The ministers said there was a need to "redefine our objectives", adding that Europe and the Quartet of Middle East mediators should firmly tell Israel to make more concessions in support of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

'Consider creating an international force'

The ministers said another aim was to take into account Israel's need for security and consider creating an international force to impose a ceasefire among Palestinians, as Abbas has called for.

"The idea of a robust international force, of the NATO or UN Chapter VII kind, deserves to be examined," they said.

Chapter VII allows the use of force.

The 10 ministers who signed the letter are not as such part of the Quartet - which is composed of the United States, Russia, the United Nations and the European Union - but they influence the EU element.

"We know how inventive and resolute you are," the ministers told Blair in their letter.

"We are therefore certain you will deal with these problems in a global manner. Hence the importance of holding without delay an international conference including all the parties to the conflict," said the ministers, who met on Friday.

Comments:  Much thanks to sister cnav (of WeDG) for posting this news article which made my prophetic heart flutter.  The absolute urgency to convene a multi-national peace conference to settle the decades long Arab-Israeli conflict is being played over and over again by the media like a broken LP.  Time is of the essence.  With a major war looming in the Mideast horizon, the time to act is now.  Put aside the other global concerns for a while.  The Mideast region is the cradle of civilization. What cataclysmic events transpire there affect the entire planet.  World War 3 is just a snap of a finger away.  Convene an international peace conference if need be.  Station international troops to act as a buffer between Arabs and Jews.

The 10 EU ministers aren’t joking.  They want action and if they’re going to be dismissed as doomsayers, then precious lives hang in the balance.  They’ve even got the ear of the new Mideast envoy Tony Blair which now sees his role as being more important than ever not that he doesn’t relish the challenge.  The darker the storm clouds, the more resolute this storm chaser is that he will make a significant difference in his peace making efforts.

People leaving big cities in view of apocalyptic events coming

Source: RaidersNewsNetwork.com

Unsettled times, threats of WMDs, terrorism, vice, crime, population explosion, crowded cities, insecure borders, and much more are making people move out of the cities and into the countries. Wyoming is seen such an explosive influx. Coming with these migrants into Wyoming are their agendas to follow the goals they have set up for themselves and also for those in Wyoming. Whether Wyoming wants it or not, the agenda is there.

The wave in the country since 9-11 has been one of foreboding for many. In the government, from FEMA to the White House itself, the rhetoric is that 'an attack is not a question of if, but when!'. The passage of the Patriot act, the onslaught of more war and violence from Muslim extremists, and the governments lack of protecting borders have many groups and individuals scrambling.

Living as I do in Wyoming, I have seen first hand the influx from California at first, then from other states. This influx is from those who are sick of the lawlessness, crime, vice, and population. There is no safety, no solitude, overcrowding, and it simply makes life too unbearable for many. The result is, as others have done, is to sell their expensive houses, and then move to a state where real estate is not so high. The target for many is the communities in Wyoming for instance.

What used to be small mountain communities, with a homey life style is now gone. In its place are expensive shops, top end real estate, and name brand shops. This describes Jackson Hole, Buffalo, Sheridan, and other areas which are becoming crammed with the Newbie Wyomingites. They see the small sparsely populated state as a target for their needs. The problem with this all happening is that for many in the state as long timers, reasonably price homes are a problem. Finding land is practically out of the question unless you have lots of money now, especially land near the mountains. For renters, that is a large problem as well.

Comments:  Looming wars and disasters make for exciting times in one’s otherwise mundane existence.  The “Heaven on Earth” idyllic dream of Kingdom Now followers, Dominionists and Christian Reconstructionists who are promoting rid the world of AIDS, poverty, social injustice and religious tolerance before Jesus can return is becoming less and less of a reality.  The unsaved are more in tune with the signs of the times than the social gospel thumpers.  Those who have rejected Jesus as Savior are planning for survival after nuclear attacks by terrorists. Their goal is physical self preservation. They say human survival is No. 1 on a person’s needs list.  Earth dwellers scramble to save their collective hide.  They aren’t concerned about their precarious spiritual state.  They belong to the Devil and are protecting themselves from the Devil’s weapons of mass destruction agents.

Small towns USA that are far away from obvious targets such as NYC, Chicago, LA, Boston, etc., will be deluged with fleeing urbanites. Some will gobble up inexpensive farmlands and turn to a simpler life of self-sufficiency.  The end of the world as we know it is near.  The apocalypse is looming like a giant shadow.  Even as the vast majority of Christendom is asleep in their complacent belief that the world can only get better and better, the unsaved masses are perplexed about homeland security and the inevitability of more Al-Qaeda attacks.  Peoples’ are indeed failing them for fear.  Luke 21:[26] Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.  Luke 12:[4] And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them (terrorists) that kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. [5] But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him (God), which after he (God) hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him (God).

Tony Blair, new Mideast envoy, meets UN chief

Source: Jerusalem Post

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair met here Tuesday with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon for the first time since becoming an international Middle East envoy.

The private meeting at a London hotel came as representatives of the international diplomatic Quartet on the Middle East - the US, the EU, the United Nations and Russia - met here to discuss the situation in the region.

The envoy-level Quartet meeting was called in part to determine if a gathering of its top leadership, including Blair, is needed, US officials have said. If such a meeting is called, it could be held in Portugal, which has just assumed the rotating presidency of the 27-nation European Union.

Comments:  No disrespect to former Mideast envoy Dennis Ross, but the high profile frequent flyer Tony Blair will accomplish amazing and remarkable things (if he doesn't get killed in the process) to bring Israel and the many (Arab/Muslim) nations together to seriously talk about concrete solutions to the seemingly insurmountable Mideast conundrum. Say what you may about Tony Blair, this bloke didn't accept this 'unpaid' envoy posting because he was between jobs. His New World Order masters have him positioned there for a specific purpose and that is to advance and facilitate the peace process because the time has finally come.

The new UN chief is another player being manipulated by his puppeteers. They say that man is free, but he isn’t really.  His master is the Devil and sin is his chains.  Unwittingly, he does the bidding of the Devil and he doesn’t even know it.  Hebrews 2:[15] And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Pope Benedict: Other Christians not true churches

Source: YAHOO NEWS!

Pope Benedict XVI reasserted the primacy of the Roman Catholic Church, approving a document released Tuesday that says other Christian communities are either defective or not true churches and Catholicism provides the only true path to salvation.

The statement brought swift criticism from Protestant leaders. "It makes us question whether we are indeed praying together for Christian unity," said the World Alliance of Reformed Churches, a fellowship of 75 million Protestants in more than 100 countries.

"It makes us question the seriousness with which the Roman Catholic Church takes its dialogues with the reformed family and other families of the church," the group said in a letter charging that the document took ecumenical dialogue back to the era before the Second Vatican Council.

It was the second time in a week that Benedict has corrected what he says are erroneous interpretations of the Second Vatican Council, the 1962-1965 meetings that modernized the church. On Saturday, Benedict revived the old Latin Mass — a move cheered by Catholic traditionalists but criticized by more liberal ones as a step backward from Vatican II.

Comments:  1 Corinthians 1:[12] Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. [13] Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?  Man oh man, is Pope Benedict demented or what?  In less than one week, he has stirred up quite a pot of controversies.  I think he’s either senile or he has revealed himself to be the Devil’s loyal servant.  The word “Christian” means a follower of Christ, a saved believer.  Jesus never created denominations or the Roman Catholic Church (RCC).  No church has been bestowed the exclusive right to be the only true church on earth.  In fact, one can argue that the RCC is a false church and a cult to boot.  It propagates a false demonic gospel of faith PLUS works PLUS sacraments PLUS indulgences.  Hell is packed with deceased popes, cardinals, bishops, priests, nuns and RCC faithful...as well as the "faithful" of many other religions.  Of the 1.1 billion Catholics worldwide, God only knows how many are lost and still in their sins.  Pope Benedict is a false Christ and a mass deceiver.  (Added by Andy: It isn't church affiliation that gains or loses one to through the gates of heaven it's believing in Jesus Christ ALONE and His sacrifice for you.  Many a "good Baptist" (or fill in with any other denominational name including "non-denominational") will one day be most surprised to hear Jesus say, "I never knew you".  Don't get me wrong, along with my brother Leo I firmly believe the RCC is likely one of the most deceitful cults ever devised by man.  I'm sorry if this offends some but God makes it clear He will share His glory with no man.  Faith + Works does NOT equal salvation...that formula fills heaven full of people bragging about what they did to get there.  No thank you!  I prefer the scriptural approach: ALL glory goes to God; for the plan of salvation is ALL about Jesus and not about me - even the faith to believe is a gift from God (see Eph 2:8)).

Protestant Christians who are the Lord’s need not concern themselves with the pope’s reassertion.  (Faith in Jesus and in His Word is the solid rock foundation which no false teachings can crack.)  Those who attend liberal Protestant mainline churches may be shaken from their foundation and might defect to the RCC fearing for their souls.  How awful to go from the frying pan into the fire!

The ecumenism train has just been derailed.  The RCC really hasn’t changed its leopard spots.  Its packaging may be a bit more modern, but the age old message is still the same:  The pope is the self-proclaimed Vicar of Christ; the RCC is the only way to salvation within Christendom, and all wayward Protestant daughters must return to the mother church.

Emotional changes of retirement can tarnish golden years

Source: CNN.com

When it came time for Sally Jennings to retire in 1989, she didn't know what to expect.

Sally Jennings took early retirement trips to Australia but the novelty soon wore off.

"It was kind of a shock to my system," she said. "I would go out shopping in the daytime and I felt like I was playing hooky at school."

Jennings was just the third woman to earn a chemical engineering degree at the University of Kansas when she graduated in 1963. She served in the Air Force and then went on to enjoy a decades-long tenure at Texaco Chemical.

The transition from the work force to retirement is often measured in financial and career-centric terms: When is the time right? How big is the nest egg? How to spend it?

But often overlooked in that transition are emotional challenges like a change in identity and questions over self-worth and purpose, which can undermine the golden years.

The emotional balance for those approaching retirement is a "combination of excitement with underlying trepidation," said Dr. Dwight Moore, a psychologist and the president of LifeShift, a program that helps professionals prepare for retirement.

The transition has various stages, he said. The first stage, which lasts about a year, is excitement. Retirees rest, go on trips, downsize their homes or do the things they've always wanted to do.

"I went to Australia a couple of times, Japan a couple of times, I went to Europe more times than I can count," Jennings said.

After the novelty of retirement wears off, Moore said, people start asking themselves, "Now what do I do?"

"The first sense of emotion is loss, [particularly a] loss of identity," he said. "The second is a sense of fear of 'how am I going to replace the kind of affirmation that I got.'"

With the absence of affirmation professionals get from their careers and with no boss or business demanding their expertise anymore, retirees are often left searching for self-worth.

"You lose who you are. You lose the work identity and the work context," Moore said.

Comments:  What is at the end of one’s working life?  For most people, their career/job defines their self identity and raison d’čtre (reason for being).  Statistics have shown that a significant number of retires passed away within 6 months after punching out their last time card.  Their job became their identity and when that disappeared, their entire life went swirling down the drain.

The Devil doesn’t tell the multitude of lost souls the utter importance of getting saved.  No, death and the afterlife are hidden behind the smoke screen of a life spent in the pursuit of education, career, marriage, children, having enough insurance, pleasure and saving for Freedom 65.  There’s hardly any thought of a premature death.  Even in retirement, the elderly bask in their grandchildren’s upbringing and dreams.  They’re content that they’ve provided for their family and that the surname will be passed onto succeeding generations.  If death is broached, they’re comforted by the delusion that they’ve done no harm to anybody, did the best they could, have their name on the church roll, and tried their hardest to obey the 10 Commandments.  A personal faith in Jesus Christ?  Oh no.  That’s for religious zealots, not for them.  How tragic that the Devil has billions of souls completely blinded as to the Truth, Hell, judgment and an eternity consigned to the Lake of Fire.  As the procession of mourners passes the open casket to pay their last respects, the common thought is “Poor Fred.  All dressed up with nowhere to go.  Sigh.”  Luke 16:[23] And in Hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments…
