Court: Defendant's Satanist robe OK for murder trial

Florida trial Judge Peter Adrien has ruled that a Satanist on trial for allegedly killing and dismembering another man, then eating portions of the body, may wear his full religious regalia when he defends himself in court.
The prosecutor in the case, Assistant State Attorney Herbert E. Walker III, told WND the motion was brought by Lazaro Galindo, who is on trial for the 2000 death of Argelio Gonzalez.
Walker said he did not object to the request, because Galindo cited recent decisions that have allowed Islam into U.S. courtrooms for Muslim faithful, and he didn't want to set up a circumstance that could result in grounds for an appeal if Galindo is convicted.
Comments: The defendant is obviously setting up grounds for appeal by wearing his Satanist regalia. This costume can only serve to inflame the jury against him. It is amazing to me that Satanists are proud of their doings. This man is flouting God’s law and he will likely pay a high price with a conservative jury. The Bible is clear on this issue: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. (Exodus 22:18 KJV) This man is flirting with the death penalty. May God have mercy on his soul.

Israel urges 'damaging' Iran sanctions

The international community is "losing momentum" in its bid to use sanctions to deter Iran's nuclear drive; Israel is now energetically lobbying for the imposition of a new batch of stiffer sanctions that would cause "real damage" to the regime.
Israel is anxious that the international community has "taken its eye off the ball" in the effort to ratchet up economic and diplomatic pressure on the Islamic Republic, while the nuclear program speeds relentlessly ahead, The Jerusalem Post has been told.
"There is an understanding that the game to get Iran to stop its development is a boxing match," one diplomatic official said Thursday. "Iran has not done badly; you don't see the laceration above the eye, or the bruised ribs, or the broken thumb. But [Iran would be dealt a knockout] if the international community would give them a strong blow to the head and the ribs."
The official said that the UN, which is expected to take up the idea of a third round of sanctions against Iran in September, needs to approve "strategic sanctions that would cause real damage."
Comments: If the international community does not impose meaningful sanctions on Iran, Israel may be forced to go it alone. An Israeli attack on Iran would cause the Middle East to go up in flames. Israel has nuclear weapons, and Iran may. Iran is also reputed to be supplying Syria with chemical weapons.
I am certain that Israel would win such a war, but at what cost?

Study: Even Infrequent Use of Marijuana Increases Risk of Psychosis by 40 Percent

LONDON — Using marijuana seems to increase the chance of becoming psychotic, researchers report in an analysis of past research that reignites the issue of whether pot is dangerous.
The new review suggests that even infrequent use could raise the small but real risk of this serious mental illness by 40 percent.
Doctors have long suspected a connection and say the latest findings underline the need to highlight marijuana's long-term risks. The research, paid for by the British Health Department, is being published Friday in medical journal The Lancet.
"The available evidence now suggests that cannabis is not as harmless as many people think," said Dr. Stanley Zammit, one of the study's authors and a lecturer in the department of psychological medicine at Cardiff University.
The researchers said they couldn't prove that marijuana use itself increases the risk of psychosis, a category of several disorders with schizophrenia being the most commonly known.
There could be something else about marijuana users, "like their tendency to use other drugs or certain personality traits, that could be causing the psychoses," Zammit said.
Comments: It is only common sense that mind-altering substances are dangerous, both psychologically and morally. Now we have proof positive. Whether it is the marijuana is the culprit or whether other drugs used by reefer addicts are to blame, there is no doubt that the psychoses are real. But there is One who can rescue you from addiction. May you find Him now. Pharmacists Sue State Over 'Morning-After Pill'

Pharmacists have sued Washington state over a new regulation that requires them to sell emergency contraception, also known as the "morning-after pill."
In a lawsuit filed in federal court Wednesday, a pharmacy owner and two pharmacists say the rule that took effect Thursday violates their civil rights by forcing them into choosing between "their livelihoods and their deeply held religious and moral beliefs."
"The stakes really couldn't be much higher," plaintiffs' attorney Kristen Waggoner said.
Comments: The government doesn’t seem to give a hoot about the rights of Christians. If this was a case affecting Muslims, it would be thrown out of court immediately. Even though it will likely do very little good, we Christians need to be protesting ungodly laws as a matter of principle. ‘The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing.’ Edmund Burke.

Mahmoud Abbas: US backing means peace deal with Israel within a year

July 26, 2007 -- Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian President, declared today that he hopes to reach a final peace deal with Israel within a year.
“We hope to have a comprehensive peace with the Israelis within a year or even less than that,” Mr Abbas said.
His comments appeared to confirm reports in the Israeli press, which suggested that the Palestinians were coming under intense pressure to strike a peace deal with Israel before President Bush leaves the White House.
Mr Abbas was quoted as saying that Mr Bush - who is under pressure from falling support for the war in Iraq - had told him that he was determined to broker a final peace deal in the Middle East before leaving office.
“I heard this with my own ears from the President himself and from Secretary of State [Condoleezza] Rice,” Mr Abbas told the Israeli daily Maariv “They want to reach an agreement between Israel and the Palestinians in the next year.”
Comments: A Mideast peace deal is imminent. Yes, we’ve heard this one before. In the summer of 2000, we were within a snap of a finger away from having Yasser Arafat and Israel’s PM Ehud Barak embrace each other after having forged a peace treaty. Nothing of the sort happened of course even though the extraordinary people’s person mediator William Jefferson Clinton tried harder than a one-legged man attempting to climb a telephone pole. As in 2000 with Mr. Clinton craving a peace deal prior to the November 4, 2000 presidential election to boost the fortunes of incumbent VP Al Gore, this time around, President Bush (who eventually beat Gore partly due to Clinton’s failure) wants to do the same before the GOP members meet in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul) September 1 to 4, 2008, at the very latest, prior to November 4, 2008. Irony of ironies, would it not be strange if Hillary Clinton presides over the signing of the peace deal during her presidency?
What’s also odd is that the vast majority of Christendom (Roman Catholics, Preterists, Amillennialists, Replacement Theology, Kingdom Now, Dominion Theology, Christian Reconstructionists, Latter Rain, Joel’s Army, Post-millennialists) wants Israel and the Arabs to make peace while most Pre-tribbers among us do not because they love the Jewish people and know this false peace will lead to their eventual slaughter. Alas, it will come to pass and we’re to leave the fate of Jews to God for His protection over them as we listen intently for Jesus’s shout and with the twinkling of an eye, we’re outta here!

Hundreds of Syrian missiles poised for possible first strike against Israel

July 26, 2007 -- Despite appeals by United States, Syria has maintained its forward ballistic missile positions near Israel.
Israeli military sources said the Syrian military has positioned its Scud C and Scud D ballistic missile batteries in southern Syria. The sources said the missile batteries have maintained full combat readiness and could be launched at any time. The sources said the Syrian missiles, including the SS-21, could reach virtually any part of the Jewish state.
Comments: At this juncture in time when the world’s community, the Fatah Party’s Palestinians in the West Bank and Israel’s PM Ehud Olmert are sensing an imminent peace treaty, the Syrian front is resonating with the beats of war drums. Syria is daring Israel to launch a pre-emptive strike. Israel’s former PMs David Ben Gurion, Golda Meir, and Monachem Begin would have taken out Syria’s military by now. They would not have allowed Syria to mobilize its arsenal to this advanced stage. But, sadly and tragically for Israel’s vulnerable citizens, the weak knee indecisive Ehud Olmert prefers appeasement rather than confrontation. Make no pretence about it. The Arab world has not given up its goal of exterminating all Jews in the Holy Land. The Arabs’ overtures of peace are two‑fold. (1) The increasing threat of radical Islam (Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, Shiites in Iraq) requires Israel as a counterbalance. (2) Once the radical Islamic threat is gone, an independent Palestinian state and the Arab League will pounce on the Israelis. Israel must strike Syria now rather than react to an attack. He who hesitates will suffer the most casualties.

July 26, 2006 -- Pope Benedict XVI said the debate raging in some countries — particularly the United States and his native Germany — between creationism and evolution was an “absurdity,” saying that evolution can coexist with faith.
The pontiff, speaking as he was concluding his holiday in northern Italy, also said that while there is much scientific proof to support evolution, the theory could not exclude a role by God.
“They are presented as alternatives that exclude each other,” the pope said. “This clash is an absurdity because on one hand there is much scientific proof in favour of evolution, which appears as a reality that we must see and which enriches our understanding of life and being as such.”
He said evolution did not answer all the questions: “Above all it does not answer the great philosophical question, ‘Where does everything come from?’”
Benedict also said the human race must listen to “the voice of the Earth” or risk destroying its very existence.
Comments: James 1:[8] A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Pope Benedict is the master of the double speak and as such, he cannot be trusted to tell the truth. He’s a mouth piece for the Devil as he proclaims that both creation and evolution can exist side by side. Since he rejects the “Protestant” Bible, he won’t believe or he doesn’t interpret literally Genesis 1:1. God created all things. Things didn’t just evolve from a soup of amino acid. Atheistic scientists manipulate their data and test results to justify their position.
It’s really not a shocker that the Vatican is a lover of Mother Earth (Gaia). After all, the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) and its idolatrous practices can be traced all the way back to ancient Babylon where paganism and idolatry ran amok. The RRC is earth based. The Vatican going “green” is nothing more than it dropping down to kiss the ground. Mother Earth is another extension of such spiritual idolatry. The worship of the creation more than the worship of the Creator Jesus is never more pronounced than today. The RCC idolizes the Virgin Mary its Queen of Heaven. She takes center stage as her apparent apparitions are reported all around the world. The RRC’s plan to make her into a Co-Redemptor with Jesus is not only appalling but blasphemous. The voice of the Earth is the voice of the Devil. Don’t listen to it.
