Ehud Barak vows to oust Ehud Olmert from within
Source: Jerusalem Post
June 15, 2007 -- Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and new Labor chairman Ehud Barak will meet Friday for the first time since Barak's election, amid threats from the former prime minister to topple Olmert and force a general election within a year.
The Prime Minister's Office released a statement Thursday saying that Olmert has invited Barak to discuss diplomatic and security issues, and not politics. The future of Labor and Barak in the coalition will only be discussed when Olmert returns from the US late next week, the statement said.
Olmert will have a difficult decision to make about whether to risk appointing Barak defense minister in light of statements Barak made to associates and supporters since Tuesday's Labor primary. He vowed to use the Defense Ministry to improve his image with the public and return to the Prime Minister's Office.
"The elections will be in the summer of 2008," a Barak associate said. "If people changed their minds about Bibi [Likud chairman Binyamin Netanyahu] within three months, the public will realize within the same amount of time that their impression of Barak was wrong and that Israel needs him as prime minister."
Comments: The battle of the two Ehuds just began and one will bite the desert dust. They say, “Love is better the second time around” and that might define the Israeli people’s love/hate affair with Ehud Barak as he seeks a second chance at becoming the prime minister. At such a critical time in Israel’s modern history with so many lethal enemies camped around her, it’s comforting to know that Israel’s most decorated general (i.e. Barak) might become first, Olmert’s defence minister, and then ultimately boot his boss Olmert out of the prime minister’s West Jerusalem office. Olmert is like a convict on death row awaiting the executioner’s electric chair with a slim chance of the governor’s pardon.
In Israel, the top post is like rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. No matter who governs Israel, disaster is just around the corner. Thank God that He alone really preserves and protects wayward Israel despite her blind self-interest leadership.

Israel’s foreign minister: 'Multinational force must fight Hamas'
Source: Jerusalem Post
June 15, 2007 -- A proposed multinational force deployed along the Gaza Strip's border with Egypt must be willing to fight Hamas to stop weapons smuggling in the area, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said Friday.
Livni said Israel was not interested in any proposal involving a monitoring force for the Philadelphi corridor where, she said, Hamas used tunnels to bring in weapons.
"Those who are talking in terms of international forces have to understand that the meaning is not monitoring forces but forces that are willing to fight, to confront Hamas on the ground," Livni said.
Comments: Ms. Livni sure hit the nail squarely on the head. Yes, a multinational military force, and not Israel, ought to go into the Gaza Strip and West Bank and forcibly uproot and destroy Hamas. Hamas is like a leopard that can’t change its spots, i.e. it will not recognize Israel’s right to exist and it will fight Israel ‘come hell and high water’. Hamas is implacable because it takes direct orders from Iran and Syria. Hamas plans to exterminate the ‘moderate and weak’ Fatah Party. So far, no outside force has come to Fatah’s aid and if you think genocide is a thing of the past, think again. Israel may have to intervene to say Fatah’s hide, but this would be a last step option.
Bible prophecy seems to suggest that a multinational military force will be stationed in the Holy Land to enforce the Antichrist’s future comprehensive peace treaty between Israel and many Arab/Muslim countries. The initial stage is being established for such a force by the EU’s Javier Solana.

Valéry Giscard d'Estaing calls on EU leaders to be honest on new treaty
Source: EUObserver.com
June 14, 2007 -- The architect of the draft EU constitution has called on national governments to be honest about what they are trying to achieve with negotiations on a new-look treaty for the bloc and not deceive EU citizens.
Writing in French daily Le Monde, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing said EU leaders should not be afraid to tell citizens that they are essentially trying to preserve the text of the constitution that was rejected by French and Dutch voters two years ago.
"If governments agree on a simplified treaty preserving the essential institutional advances, they should not be afraid to say so and write so."
Comments: Revelation 20:[3] And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. Satan is the great deceiver of mankind. The EU is his creation. This monstrosity is full of political big wigs who aren’t telling the EU citizens the whole story concerning the EU treaty. With their use of smoke and mirrors, they are pulling the wool over the people’s eyes hoping upon hope to have the EU treaty (constitution) rammed down their throats and they won’t choke in the process. All this talk (and it’s simply just that) about a 2-track proposal to move the treaty approval process along with incremental changes in the offing for those who are still opposed to the very concept of a constitution is a ruse. Of course in a pre-Tribulation Period world, democracy has to be made to appear to work. Once the Antichrist has been elected, he, like all autocratic despots before him, will thumb his nose at the treaty/constitution and do as he pleases.
Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, of all people, should know that politicians are as trustworthy as a lawyer who offers you his services free of charge. If you believe him, then I’ve got a second hand suspension bridge linking San Francisco with Oakland to sell you for a mere $1 Cdn.

Poll: American voters want a religious U.S. president
Source: christianpost.com
June 15, 2007 -- A new national poll revealed that Americans want a religious person to be president.
Over half of all respondents with an opinion (60.7 percent) believe a presidential candidate should be religious while 39.3 percent do not, according to the poll released Thursday by the Sacred Heart University Polling Institute.
But a majority of Americans (66 percent) said the candidate’s specific religious affiliation is not relevant to their voting decision while 27.8 percent do consider a candidates specific religious affiliation. Most of the rest (6.3 percent) responded they were unsure if a candidate’s specific religious connection influences their vote.
Comments: The bottom line is that every person alive is religious in one way or another. Religion is man’s futile attempt to reach God or a pagan deity or self worship (in the case of atheists). Christianity is God extending His love toward mankind by the sacrifice of His Son Jesus at the Cross of Calvary and Jesus’ shed blood that cleanses the repentant sinners of all sins. Americans, by and large, are law abiding citizens who want some semblance of law and order that a Protestant, Catholic or Mormon U.S. president would maintain. (Some people enjoy doing their own thing even if it violates other people’s personal boundaries, but they expect the law to prosecute those who dare impinge on their own personal space.)
In a pre-Rapture world, religious based law and order, doing the right thing, promotion of morality, respect of all individuals, etc., still hold sway with the majority of voters (many of them real Christians). If a Mormon promises to uphold Biblical and Book of Mormons principles, he would get certain number of votes. Such is the parody of unsaved and saved men and women voters.

Atheists and agnostics take aim at Christians
Source: www.churchexecutive.com
June 14, 2007 -- A new evangelistic movement has emerged in America. Yet this effort does not spring from those loyal to a particular faith or religious view.
The new evangelists are atheists. People who have determined there is no God or who doubt his existence (a group commonly known as agnostics) are adopting a more aggressive, intentional effort to discredit the notion that God exists and to critique people of faith. Widely reviewed new books such as The God Delusion and God is Not Great represent this movement.
Beyond the bestseller lists, however, a new survey shows there is indeed a significant gap between Christians and those Americans who are in the “no-faith” camp. For instance, most atheists and agnostics (56%) agree with the idea that radical Christianity is just as threatening in America as is radical Islam. At the same time, two-thirds of Christians (63%) who have an active faith perceive that the nation is becoming more hostile and negative toward Christianity. (“Active faith” was defined as simply having gone to church, read the Bible and prayed during the week preceding the survey.)
Comments: Psalm 53:[1] The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. Atheists are fools and agnostics are foolish to join camp with atheists to rid society of all vestiges of God, Jesus and the Holy Bible. If the law would allow it, they would physically kill all the true Christians. That’s how vile the Devil is in that he has galvanized his deluded troops to battle the Lord. The Devil knows his time is short (Revelation 12:12) thus the urgency of these God deniers and haters. Overt persecution of North Americans will rise until it reaches a crescendo. The ironic thing is that they’ll call for the physical and spiritual persecution of believers worldwide and get their wish (albeit momentary) when at the Rapture, there won’t be one single Christian left on Earth. Not since the wilful disobedience of Eve in the Garden of Eden have there been no sinners on Earth.
During the 7-year Tribulation Period as the 144,000 Jewish evangelists preach the Gospel of the Kingdom to the four corners of the earth, a vast multitude of believers in Christ will dot this planet. The Devil’s Antichrist goes out to seek and destroy them. Revelation 13:[15] And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. Revelation 7:9] After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; [10] And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. Revelation 7:[11] And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, [12] Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. [13] And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? [14] And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb
