Fulfilled Prophecy’s Herb Peters has terminal cancer

Source: His daughter Holly of www.fulfilledprophecy.com

June 11, 2007 -- It's with deep sadness and tears that I, Holly, am writing this update for my father, Herb. This is the last thing in the world I want to be writing, and I'm not even sure how to say it. We got news on Tuesday that he has very advanced colon cancer that is terminal. The doctors have estimated that he has two to three months to live. I know this news will be a complete shock to many people, as it has been to my dad and our family. He was told previously that his condition was his gallbladder and that he simply needed surgery. But when he went into the emergency room hoping to speed up the process for the surgery, he learned his true condition. This explains the pain he has been experiencing now for many months that he had thought was related to his back condition. The cancer was symptomless, other than the increasing pain he recently began to have.

The one thing that has made all this news easier is my dad's incredibly positive attitude. He said that when he was first given the diagnosis he had no fear or panic. Instead, he felt a peace knowing that, if this is the Lord's will, then He knows what He's doing and He will walk with him the whole way -- as He's done through my dad's entire life. My dad said he's excited to meet Jesus. His strong faith during this difficult trial has been so amazing to me, our family and friends. He's been such a strong witness for Christ to the healthcare workers and hospice people who've been helping us out.

He wants me to tell you that, for some months before his diagnosis, he had been telling many people (including myself, my mother and brother, Constance and others) that he had a sense that the work God had called him to -- reporting on a series of events that appear to be the fulfillment of end-time Bible prophecies -- was done. He felt the entire end-time scenario is now in place. So, when he received the diagnosis, he felt like it was a confirmation of what God had already put in his heart. He feels a peace and excitement about the next stage -- though he isn't looking forward to the process between now and then. He knows many people have been praying for him, and he is grateful. His prayer request is that God will give him what he's calling "dying grace" -- the ability to face death with courage.

Comments:  Like Zola Levitt before him, brother Herb Peters has terminal cancer and won’t be expected to be raptured along with the rest of us.  Although that he isn’t a pre-tribber, Herb is nevertheless a dispensationalist who has zealously researched the rise of the Old Roman Empire from the ashes into the modern day EU.  It will be sad that Herb won’t be able to post any more news articles and comments re: EU’s foreign minister Javier Solona and how this hombre is working tirelessly for his Antichrist (AC) boss.  Herb won’t likely know the AC’s identity after all and neither will we.  We’re looking for the Saviour, not the AC.

We thank God for Bible prophecy students such as Herb who loves the Lord Jesus and his fellow believers.  He will be missed by most of us.  Some of us can’t help but be envious of him because he will be seeing His Saviour face to face soon.  His work for the Lord is completed. Graduation day for Herb is at hand.  As one more faithful servant is taken away, this sin filled world gets a little bit darker.  Philippians 1:[23] For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better.  I bet Herb would leave us with the hymn: FACE TO FACE WITH CHRIST, MY SAVIOR.

Masonry and Masons

Source: Interview with Father Manuel Guerra Gómez, author of “The Masonic Plot”/Zenit.org/cafetheology.org

June 11, 2007 -- What’s true and what’s not about the Masons is the topic of a recent book by an expert in the history of religions.

Father Manuel Guerra Gómez, who is an author of 25 books on sects and other topics, recently released “La trama masónica” (The Masonic Plot), published in Spanish by Styria.

Father Guerra is a diocesan priest of Burgos, and a retired professor of the Burgos headquarters of the Faculty of Theology of Northern Spain.

In this interview with ZENIT he says that “the Masonic method, atheistic in nature, reflects historical relativism and leads to the socio-cultural relativism that it promotes.”

Q: Is the famous Masonic conspiracy a myth?

Father Guerra: It is necessary to distinguish between Masonry and the Masons. Masonry, as such, does not aspire to power or at least to having it serve its own principles and interests.

Nevertheless, Masons are in fact present in every international organization in which decisions are made and in the multinational corporations that have an influence on economic and political power.

It is logical to think that they try to pass on their ideological principles — relativism, atheism, gnosticism — wherever they are and to irradiate them beyond their own context. On the other hand, in the English-speaking world and in the northern countries, in Turkey, etc., it is not that they seek to gain power, they are the power.

Thus, for example, the sovereign of the United Kingdom is also the grand master of the United Grand Lodge of England, and of the more than 150 grand lodges — one for every country, and in the United States one for every state. In 1995, in the United Grand Lodge of England there were 750,000 members belonging to 8,000 lodges throughout the world. Besides this, because of the rule of secrecy, there is no way of knowing for certain where they are active and how far their direct influence extends, and much less do we know the extent of their indirect influence. Tony Blair’s government sought to institute the obligation that Masons declare their membership in the group, especially if they were functionaries of the state, and above all if they worked in the area of justice or in the police. The response of 1,400 English judges who voluntarily declared their membership in the Masons is commendable. Evidently there are many more.

Following the scandals of the secret Propaganda Due Lodge of Licio Gelli in Italy, functionaries in certain areas of Italian public administration must declare whether that they are Masons at the risk of losing their post.

Q: Is it true that 60% of the members of the European Parliament are Masons?

Father Guerra: This and a similar claim were made by Josep Corominas, grand master of the Grand Lodge of Spain up until March 2006. On Feb. 9, 2007, he left the Grand Lodge of Spain, but affirmed that he would continue to be a Mason and wanted to be considered such.

Comments:  Masons are (like cockroaches) everyone in high places, i.e. politics, corporations and even in religious circles.  It’s been said that George Washington, former President George Bush Sr. and evangelist Bill Graham was/are 33rd degree Masons.  The mysterious world of Masonry has intrigued the conspiracsts among us who think Masons are out to take control of this world.  It’s an insidious plot by Satan himself through his Mason minions to infiltrate institutions of power and influence with its global agenda of a One World Religion and Government.  Not many outsiders have been able to get the full story on the interior machinations of this occultic system shrouded by secret oaths, sacrifices and utterings.  With threats of a violent death for any member revealing its secrets, it’s easy to see why few would speak out or admit their membership and involvement in Masonry.  What we see are the Shriners (an offshoot of Masonry) with their funny hats and animal and clown circuses and we get a chuckle out of it.  It’s not funny when a Mason dies without Christ.  Having denied God as the Supreme Force of the universe, they have been duped by Garnd Master Satan.

This Catholic priest named Father Guerra appears to have the lowdown on Masonry and he’s telling all.  He thinks he’s got the pulse of Masonry.  Catholicism and Masonry have been at odds with each other.  Both demand works from their adherents.  There’s no salvation with either.  Both religions will have legions of followers left behind when Jesus gives the shout at the Rapture event.

UN envoy: Middle East picture is 'getting darker'

Source: Associated Press/Jerusalem Post

June 11, 2007 -- UN envoy Terje Roed-Larsen raised an "alarm" about the situation in the Middle East, warning that the region faces the possibilities of full-scale war, a fresh effort to contain the current violence, or energetic diplomacy to try to bring lasting peace.

"The picture which emerges is very dark, and apparently getting darker," he told reporters on Monday. "So there are reasons for real concerns in the international community."

Comment:  Dark and darker.  It sure is a gloomy picture in the fractious Middle East for sure.  It has been 34 years since the 1973 Yom Kippur War.  Israel, once again, is faced with the prospect of a major war.  This time around, the new players are Iran and Hamas that are expected to enter into the fray.  Militarily, Israel’s arsenal is vastly superior to that of her foes.  Psychologically, she’s weak because of her leadership that her population has lost faith in.  The UN envoy has gauged the situation correctly.  In the midst of such pessimisim, there’s a ray of hope above the dreary clouds of doom.  A lasting peace treaty lies at the end of the rainbow.  How that is achieved is governed by either an all out war due to all parties in the conflict having a brain cramp or the sudden thought that peace rather than war is far better.  The former seems more likely.  Israeli Jews ought to batten down the hatches and get ready for a steady rain of rockets.

Ehud Barak to Labor voters: Who should lead in the time of war?

Source: Jerusalem Post

June 11, 2007 -- Leading Labor chair candidates Ehud Barak and MK Ami Ayalon both cast their votes by noon on Tuesday as remaining party members, who had until 9 p.m., arrived at voting stations across the country to choose their preferred party leader.

Twenty percent of eligible Kibbutz residents, 14% of Arab voters, 14% of voters from Moshavim, 12% of the party's Druze members and 18% of Tel Aviv voters had cast their votes by 1 p.m.

As Barak prepared to cast his vote in Kfar Saba, he asked Labor members to examine themselves before making their decision. "I ask all the voters to remember and to think who you want at a time of war and who will have the strength to make peace," added Barak.

Comments:  The comeback kid Ehud Barak hopes to be a retread prime minister of a nation that’s essentially at war with the Arab/Muslim world.  Even though war hasn’t been officially declared, Israel’s military and population are at a heightened alert.  It’s battle station thoughout Israel.  The former most decorated battlefield general turned statesman Barak is a wily politician.  Having had some 6 years to lick his political wounds after losing the prime ministerial post to fellow ex-general Ariel Sharon, the time off has taught Barak valuable lessons.  One thing he hasn’t learned though is that you cannot make peace with impalaccable foes.  In the Summer of 2000, Barak was nearly strongarmed by President Clinton in giving the entire farm away to Yasser Arafat.  Fortunately for Barak and for Israel, Arafat had in mind a bigger fish, i.e. saving his own sturgeon neck.

The dovish Labor Party is all about securing peace.  Barak has seen the terrors of war so peace is a welcomed alternative. Unfortunately for Israel, there’s no true peace with the Arabs.  A truce yes, but no lasting peace.  To believe otherwise is to delude the Israeli population to their detriment and peril.

1 Thessalonians 5:[3] For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Portugal calls for clear EU treaty commitment from member states

Source: EUObserver.com

June 11, 2007 -- The incoming Portuguese EU presidency has indicated it is against opening formal treaty negotiations unless EU leaders meeting in Brussels in two week's time clearly commit themselves to agreeing a new institutional settlement.

"We need a clear commitment by all 27 [member states] on the general endeavour," said Portuguese EU ambassador Alvaro de Mendoca on Monday (11 June) at a European Policy Centre meeting.

Under a general plan pushed by current EU presidency Germany and to be put to the test at the forthcoming 21-22 June summit, EU leaders should agree the need for a new treaty, close off the bulk of the original constitution as non-negotiable, discuss a set of open issues and get the whole exercise done and dusted by the end of the year.

Comments:  There’s no time for the faint at heart to dilly and dally.  The EU treaty must be passed into law before 2008 rolls around.  No if’s and but’s.  Fence sitters must fall off on either side of this contentious issue.  All 27 EU members must give their thumb’s up or the EU treaty dies on the table.  It’s high noon at the OK EU and Marshall Matt Dillon won’t be there to rescue the day.  Majority consensus will not suffice.  All 27 rowers must yell “Yea!” or the EU treaty is dead in the water.

The Revived Roman Empire will produce the ferocious beast Antichrist who will be chosen by a collective mind of tall foreheads.  This is why it’s so crucial for the present EU members to act in one accord ahead of the revealing of the AC.  They say, “Practise makes perfect”.  This will be put to the test.  If indeed the EU treaty is accepted by all, that clears a hurdle to finally elect a long-term EU president (for more than a 6-month stint), the forerunner to the AC.  Revelation 17:[13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
