Vatican bids farewell to Britain's Tony Blair: Prime minister gets warm greeting from pope before leaving office

The Vatican on Saturday bid farewell to Tony Blair as British prime minister, wishing him well on what it said were his plans to work for Middle East peace and interreligious dialogue.

 

Blair held long talks with Pope Benedict XVI, with the Vatican stop on his farewell tour fueling rumors that he plans to convert to Catholicism. The two men met privately for 25 minutes and then were joined for further talks by English Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor.

 

A Vatican press office called the audience a normal meeting between the pope and a government leader. Blair leaves office on Wednesday.

 

Comments:  As the Charles Trenet’s song “I Wish You Love” goes, so it is with the Vatican as Tony Blair exits by riding off into the sunset.  This liberal Brit will have a life after politics like former President Bill Clinton before him.  The real interesting projects are there for his picking.  He just has to choose which ones to work tirelessly on without the encumbrances that political office entails.  The Vatican sure does approve of Middle East peace mediation and its pet project, the bringing together of all faiths and religions (preferably under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Church).  Many people believe that world peace cannot be achieved unless there’s spiritual unity.  Warring parties must connect with each other spiritually, i.e. find commonalities by which they can agree on and appreciate that there’s goodness in all people.  They just need to understand each other better.  Sure sounds like the philosophy the Devil would propagate on the masses to come together with the purpose of dethroning the God of Heaven.  The unholy trinity of Satan, the Antichrist and the False Prophet will embraced by the earth dwellers who are left behind after the Rapture event.

 

Tony Blair has been touted as a leading candidate to be the Antichrist (AC).  His lofty goals sure have catapulted him among the front runners.  It seems that there is no shortage of AC wannabes for the Devil to choose from.  For pre‑tribbers, we’re not going to be here to find out who the winner (in actuality, he will be the ultimate loser as his fate is the Lake of Fire) is.

US sends USS Enterprise to Gulf and Middle East regions

The USS Enterprise CVN 65-Big E Strike Group will join the USS Stennis and the USS Nimitz carriers, building up the largest sea, air, marine concentration the United States has ever deployed opposite Iran. This goes towards making good on the assurances of four carriers US Vice President Dick Cheney offered the Gulf and Middle East nations during his May tour of the region.

 

The “Big E” leads a strike group consisting of the guided-missile destroyers USS Arleigh Burke DDG 51, USS Stout DDG 55, Forrest Sherman DDG 98 and USS James E. Williams DDG 95, as well as the guided missile cruiser USS Gettysburg CG 64, the SS Philadelphia SSN 690 nuclear submarine and the USNS Supply T-AOE 6.

 

Comments:  The supercarrier, USS Enterprise (CVN-65), is the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and the eighth U.S. Naval vessel to bear the vaunted name.  It’s essentially the flagship of the US Navy just like the USS (United Star Ship) Enterprise was the flagship of the United Federation of Planets in the fictional Star Trek series and movies.  The deployment of such is sending a strong message to Iran that America is insistent that the Iranian nuclear program must stop soon or the US might attack Iran.  In this game of brinkmanship, one needs to wear sunglasses so his opponent cannot see whether the eyes are blinking faster than a battle station red alert light.  When the world’s mightiest navy stations its three big ships, giant waves are being made.  Iran either backs down and talk with the Americans about nuclear disengagement like North Korea did or faces the consequences of not only further economic sanctions and political isolation, but the very real possibility of military engagements by the three aircraft carriers.

 

The other underlying message is that the US is warning Iran to cease its military support of Hamas and Hezbollah.  The H&H gang could light up the Middle East skyline as they endeavour to draw Israel into a 2-prong war.  With Israel fighting Hezbollah in southern Lebanon (i.e. Israel’s north) and Hamas pushing Israel from the south, the pressure squeeze on Israel  from these polar opposite directions will test Israel’s military mettle to the max.  The US is lending a preventative hand now hoping to deter Iran from contributing to the expected war of the summer of 2007.

Europe sees creationism as a threat to human rights

Europe's primary human rights body will vote on a proposal this week to defend the teaching of Darwinian evolution and keep creationist and intelligent design views out of science classes in state schools in its 47 member countries.

 

The unusual move shows that a U.S. trend for religiously based challenges to the theory of evolution is worrying European politicians, who now see such arguments put forward in their countries by Christian and Muslim groups.

 

A report for the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly said the campaign against evolution has its roots "in forms of religious extremism" and is a dangerous attack on scientific knowledge.

 

"Today, creationists of all faiths are trying to get their ideas accepted in Europe," it said. "If we are not careful, creationism could become a threat to human rights." 

 

Comments:  The Europeans have pretty well given up on God (and as such, God is giving up on them). The proposed EU constitution leaves out the mention of God.  Creationism is God’s absolute truth as expounded in Genesis 1:1, the very first verse of the Bible.  A God who had no beginning and Who has no ending simply spoke and the world came into existence, none of the Big Bang nonsense that the Devil has mankind believing in.  Evolution is a doctrine of demons that Charles Darwin postulated as a “theory”.  It’s never been proven and because it’s a falsehood from Hell, it won’t ever be proven.  Still, Satan’s many willing worshippers and followers are fervently lobbying governments and religious institutions to make evolution the only state approved explanation for the existence of intelligent life.  The asinine notion that man evolved from his ape ancestors is supported by Catholicism and liberal Protestantism which call their leaders “Primates”.  A primate is any member of the biological order Primates, the group that contains all the species commonly related to the lemurs, monkeys, and apes, with the latter category including humans.[2] Primates are found all over the world.   In the religious sense, Primate (from the Latin Primus, "first") is a title or rank bestowed on some bishops in certain Christian churches. Depending on the particular tradition, it can denote either jurisdictional authority (title of authority) or ceremonial precedence (title of honour).  As one can see, evolution is relative not absolute.  It offers leeways for many cultures to believe in its variations.  It’s the broadway that leads to eternal destruction and the Lake of Fire.  It doesn’t impinge on human rights for it allows everyone to believe this lie of Satan.  Proverbs 14: [12] There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

LA Times: Conservative Christians learning to accept gays

Despite the fundamental gulf that divides them, gay-rights activists and those who see homosexuality as a sinful disorder are starting to reach agreement on some practical points. Chambers and other Exodus leaders talk deliberately about a possible biological basis for homosexuality, in part to explain that no one can turn a switch and flip from gay to straight. A leading conservative theologian outside the ex-gay movement recently echoed the view that homosexuality might not be a choice, but a matter of DNA. To the shock and anger of many of his constituents, the Rev. R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, wrote that, "We should not be surprised (to find a genetic basis for sexual orientation)."

 

Comments:  Rev. R. Albert Mohler Jr. is a betrayer of the faith, a turncoat.  He has just justified homosexuality and encouraged some to become gay.  There’s a saying “If you can’t beat them, join them”.  Well, he has enlisted himself in the gay and lesbian camp.  To even hint that the alternative lifestyle is in the genes (that God had placed it there at the time of conception) is to call God a liar and attribute to God for people having sexual relations with their own gender.  This religious leader of a conservative teaching seminary has gone off the cliff of evangelicalism.  No longer literally believing God’s Word that same sex relations are an abomination to God as Romans 1 attests, he has defected to the enemy’s side.  How come we’re reading of more and more long traditional conservative believers abandoning their long held Biblical principles and giving up the good fight against the unrelenting forces of evil?  Is it the sign of the times?  Hebrews 10:[23] Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Revelation 2:[25] But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

Could Michael Bloomberg become the first Jew to win the White House?

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's announcement last week that he was becoming an independent stoked speculation that he could launch a third-party presidential run. As such, he could be the most formidable Jewish presidential contender ever.

 

The billionaire who parlayed his Bloomberg business media empire to becoming mayor of the United States' largest city on Tuesday announced that he was leaving the Republican party.

 

"I believe this brings my affiliation into alignment with how I have led and will continue to lead our city," Bloomberg said.

 

Bloomberg, a former Democrat, had only assumed membership in the GOP in order to run for mayor in 2001. He has presided over a popular administration known for taking decidedly un-Republican stances: he is now leading a large crackdown on illegal guns and pressing sweeping anti-air pollution regulations.

 

His decision to leave his adopted party, though, stirred up much more talk about whether he was clearing the way for a third-party run than for his independent political positions. Though he denied he was paving the way for a presidential run, New York Times covered the announcement by saying that it was made after nearly two years of groundwork laid by aides for an independent bid. Earlier in the week, Time magazine put him on the cover and spent scores of words talking up a run. Political blogs and analysts have been poring over the possibility for the last several days.

 

Comments:  Did Michael Bloomberg get knocked off his rocker?  What was he thinking when he was considering running for U.S. president?  The last high profile Jew to aspire to the highest office in the land was Joe Lieberman who ran as Al Gore’s Vice Presidential running mate in 2000.  Had Gore won the presidency (and many political pundits asserted that he should have), Lieberman was only an assassin’s gunshot away (i.e. the fatal shooting of Gore) from assuming the president’s post.  Just think of it!  A Jewish U.S. president would have stirred the unholy forces of Osama bin Laden and the radical mullahs in Iran to accelerate their goal of annihilating the Great Satan USA and its Little Satan sister Israel.  Some researchers have said that the 9/11 attacks on New York City were aimed at the large Jewish population in that metropolis.  It should be noted that Jews in NYC are second in numbers only to the state of Israel.  A Jewish U.S. president might serve as a lightning rod of further attacks on American soil.

 

Like Ross Perot before him, Michael Bloomberg is a billionaire and he has deserted other political parties to run as an independent.  No non-Republican and non-Democrat candidate has ever come close let alone won the presidency.  Michael Bloomberg’s odds are formidable, however God can place him in that position if it’s God’s will.

Christians urged to adopt communitarian approach

Sexuality may be headline-grabbing, but the real biblical message is about justice and working for equality, including an equitable use of the world's resources, a theologian and writer told a gathering of Anglicans and Lutherans last week.

 

"We exist with and only with other living components of the planet. We must share these resources equally and justly for the planet to flourish," Sallie McFague of Vancouver said in her keynote address to a joint meeting of the Anglican Church of Canada and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada

 

Both denominations also debated extending blessings to same-sex unions in their business meetings on the weekend.

 

The retired professor of theology from Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, Tenn., is convinced that global warming is partly a theological problem because Christians see themselves as individuals who can continue a privileged, consumeristic lifestyle.

 

Instead, Christians must move to what McFague called a communitarian approach, where the community is the primary concern.

 

"If we are interdependent and interrelated to all life forms, then the good news must include the whole earth," she said. "The whole cannot be healthy if part are sick."   

 

McFague called on Christians to act now, and become ecological through and through.

 

"If we really love nature, we're going to have to change," she told about 700 delegates assembled in the Winnipeg Convention Centre. "We must live a life of limitations, of enoughness, of sacrifice."

 

Comments:  Romans 1:[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.  Ms. Sallie McFague is a fool.  God said so.  Her profession of being a Christian is based on her learned knowledge attained from the finest liberal humanistic seminaries North America has to offer.  All this puffed up knowledge but without Christ; what a tragedy.  As with many professing Christians, she has eagerly jumped on the bandwagon of the environmentalists who promote a love for Mother Earth/Nature and global communes and justice for all.  Their prime directives are distracting from the true mission that Christ commanded us to carry out, i.e. the going out into all the world and preach the Gospel and make disciples of the saved.  Soul loving and getting them saved are a true indicator of a love for our fellow mankind.  When a person jettisons the Holy Bible from her life and only follows the deceiver of the brethren, this is what you get.  From a slow trickle to a torrent of apostasy, that’s the current of these last days we’re living in.

 

As much as we may think it cannot possibly get worse, we may not yet have reached the nadir.  Long time conservatives such as Pat Robertson, Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, etc., have all embraced the Devil’s goal of a heaven on Earth.  When so called Christians blend in with the world’s Christ rejecters and help the enemies of God in their missions, the dilution effect waters down the Christian testimony.  2 Timothy 4:[10] For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world.  1 John 2:[15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
