Britney Spears: 'I truly hit rock bottom'

Source: CNN.com/Associated Press

May 30, 2007 -- Britney Spears says she "hit rock bottom," in a message posted on her Web site about the end of her marriage and her time in rehab.

Spears calls rehab "a very humbling place" and denies that it was alcohol or depression that sent her there.

"I truly hit rock bottom," the 25-year-old pop star writes. "I was like a bad kid running around with ADD."

She was seen going out with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan after filing for divorce from aspiring rapper Kevin Federline last November, just two months after giving birth to their second child, Jayden James. The pair also have an older son, Sean Preston, now 20 months.

The couple reached a divorce settlement in March.

"I had a manager from a long time ago come in and try to direct me and my life after I got my divorce," writes Spears. "I was so overwhelmed I think that I was in a little shock too. I didn't know who to go to."

"I realized how much energy and love I had put into my past relationship when it was gone because I genuinely did not know what to do with myself, and it made me so sad. I confess, I was so lost," she writes.

She closes by saying, "We will never really understand or figure out life completely. That's God's job. I can't wait to meet him ... or her. Love, Britney."

Comments:  I know a lot of people like heaping scorn on Britney Spears.  They say she’s a spoiled prima‑donna. She’s been responsible for leading many a young girl into emulating her bratty on stage demeanour and the love for self lifestyle and for that, Ms. Spears will have to answer to God someday.  However, she needs our prayers.  Here’s a young woman who, despite her immense wealth, is obviously distraught, fearful and lost.  She’s trying to reach out to an unknown God.  She doesn’t even know if God is male or female, such is her ignorance.  Her world and glitter, glamour and tinsel has collapsed.  Life seems so senseless.  She’s a lost soul.  She needs Jesus in the worst way.  Ecclesiastes 2:[17] Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Secretive Bilderberg meeting set for Turkey: Kissinger, Rockefeller, media moguls among those scheduled to attend

Source: WorldNetDaily.com

May 30, 2007 -- The super-secret Bilderberg Group, an organization of powerful international elites, is set to meet this week somewhere in Turkey – but even the precise location is a mystery.

The meeting begins Thursday and continues through Sunday.

Those expected to attend include Donald Graham, chairman and chief executive officer of the Washington Post, Richard N. Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations, Henry Kissinger, David Rockefeller, John Vinocur, senior correspondent of the International Herald Tribune, Paul Gigot, editor of the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal, Nicholas Beytout, editor-in-chief of Le Figaro, George David, chairman of Coca-Cola, Martin Feldstein, president and chief executive officer of the National Bureau of Economic Research, Timothy F. Geithner, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Vernon Jordan, senior managing director of Lazard Freres & Co., Anatole Kaletsky, editor at large of the Times of London and General William Luti, the new "war czar."

According to reports from Turkey, Iran's nuclear weapons ambitions and global energy issues will be on the agenda – but only invitees know for sure.

"Most people don't realize they exist because their minds have been conditioned to reject any thought of such organizations," explains Dr. Stanley Monteith, a medical doctor by training, who set out on a mission to research groups like the Bilderbergers 40 years ago.

The results of his startling research is a little book called "Brotherhood of Darkness," in which he exposes the global agenda of organizations such as the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission.

Since 1954, the Bilderberg group has convened government, business, academic and journalistic representatives from the U.S., Canada and Europe with the express purpose of exploring the future of the North Atlantic community. The first meeting was held at the Hotel de Bilderberg in the Netherlands – thus the name.

According to sources that have penetrated the high-security meetings in the past, the Bilderberg meetings emphasize a globalist agenda and promote the idea that the notion of national sovereignty is antiquated and regressive.

"It's officially described as a private gathering," noted a BBC report in 2003, "but with a guest list including the heads of European and American corporations, political leaders and a few intellectuals, it's one of the most influential organizations on the planet."

And according to a BBC report on 2004's conference in Stresa: "Not a word of what is said at Bilderberg meetings can be breathed outside. No reporters are invited in and while confidential minutes of meetings are taken, names are not noted. The shadowy aura extends further – the anonymous answerphone message, for example; the fact that conference venues are kept secret. The group, which includes luminaries such as Henry Kissinger and former UK chancellor Kenneth Clarke, does not even have a website."

But, counter participants, the secrecy is not evidence of a grand conspiracy, but only an opportunity to speak frankly with other world leaders out of the limelight of press coverage and its inevitable repercussions.

Comments:  If you believe in the conspiracy theory, here’s a concrete example of a group of elite men and women gathering together in a secret enclave amidst extra tight security to discuss, plot and plan future world events.  If you don’t already have a high society name, wealth or the right connections, don’t expect an invite any day soon.  These are high flyers and no mere bit amateurs.  Their names are on the Who’s Who list and some fly beneath the radar on the paparazzi’s “to be followed” black books.  Henry Kissinger is one of the most visible mover and shaker of the Bilderbergs.  That speaks volumes as this dude seems to get his nose picking finger into everything it seems.  You know the meeting must be a “must attend” thingy when Rockefeller takes time off from his hectic schedule of oil futures to be there.  But, you say “if all this is true, how come they haven’t taken over the world by now”.  The simple answer: The Holy Spirit restrains the powers of evil perpetrated by the Devil and his minions.  2 Thessalonians 2:[7] For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

'Progressive' Christians say media coverage skewed to religious right

Source: crosswalk.com

May 30, 2007 -- A group of religious leaders and liberal media critics on Tuesday criticized what they view as a media bias in favor of conservative evangelicals and against "progressive" Christianity.

Conservative religious leaders were quoted, mentioned or interviewed in television and print news stories 2.8 times as often as were "progressive" religious leaders, according to a report released by the liberal media watchdog Media Matters for America and the religious group Faith in Public Life.

The report, which examined coverage since the 2004 election, found an increase in coverage of religious issues but determined that "this increased coverage not only over-represents some voices and under-represents others, it does so in a way that is consistently advantageous to conservatives."

Media Matters Senior Fellow Paul Waldman said that when the media looks for a leader to comment on political and religious issues, "overwhelmingly those voices are conservative and the progressive voices by and large are getting ignored."

Brian McLaren, a pastor and author active in the "emergent" church movement, said at a news conference launching the report that most Americans do not subscribe to the views of leaders like Falwell and James Dobson.

"This report clearly indicates what we've always suspected - that the media prefer to see the world through a simple lens, a casualty of which is that the right and the conservative voice can often take control of the conversation," said Jim Forbes, a pastor and host of a radio talk show on the Air America network.

"Those of us ... who call ourselves progressives need to speak out and be heard," Forbes added.

Comments:  “Progressive” is just another word for “liberal” and liberal Christianity doesn’t mean we’re free to do as we wish, but to obey God and hold steadfastly to His truth and not compromise Biblical principles.  It’s not about self but about Whom we serve.  Liberals don’t prescribe to the literal interpretation of certain passages of Scriptures preferring to substitute their own humanistic viewpoints which are always skewed.  They’ve listened to the wily serpent who posed the age old question, “Hath God said?” (Genesis 3:1).  Brian McLaren, the acknowledged leader of the “emergent church”, considered the fastest growing movement taking over from the Purpose Driven seeker sensitive anomaly, can hardly be considered a credible spokesperson to rail against “conservative” Christians.   The emergent church has taken its followers back to the age of mysticism, candle burning, idols, etc.  Man centeredness replaces Jesus.  In these last days, the battle isn’t against flesh and blood, but a spiritual tussle in which there are many casualties.  Ephesians 6:[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Israel to ready public for 'all-out war'

Source: Jerusalem Post

May 30, 2007 -- With Iran racing toward nuclear power and IDF preparations for the possibility of a conflict with Syria and Hizbullah in high gear, the Home Front Command plans to launch a publicity campaign to prepare the public for war.

Within a few weeks it intends to inform the public about what people need to do in the event of attack.

The campaign was not connected to a specific event or threat but was meant to brace the public for war in general, senior IDF officers said.

"Our job is to prepare for an all-out war," Col. Hilik Sofer, head of the Home Front Command Population Division, told The Jerusalem Post Wednesday. "We prepare for a wide range of possibilities since it doesn't make a difference where the threat comes from."

Comments:  Amidst all the talk about the Saudi Peace Plan, an imminent all-out war looms on the Israeli landscape.  Israel is a tiny nation always on high alert.  It’s Condition Orange at most times and in the upcoming months, it will become Def Con Red.  “Battle Station, Battle Station!” will ring out in all cities and towns.  “Bunker down” will be the plea from Israeli radio stations as Arab terrorist rockets rain down from the skies.  With the Israeli leadership’s popularity at a single-digit figure, public confidence in winning the next conflict is as low as a receding ebb tide.  Things look quite dreary.  Doom and gloom is evident everywhere.  The population has been under siege for so long that it has become desensitized to the violence.  Peace, if it ever does come about, would be like an electric shock.  It would jolt everyone into realizing that war is numbing to the mind and body, but peace is a welcomed change to the status quo.  The Quartet will be meeting with Israel’s leaders sometime next month to evaluate the Roadmap and decide where to go from there.  Meanwhile, prepare for war, citizens of Israel.

Vatican signals support for Turkey EU bid

Source: EUObserver.com

May 30, 2007 -- The Vatican has indicated it supports Turkish EU accession and acknowledged Ankara's progress toward democracy at a time when clouds of doubt are gathering over Turkey enlargement inside the EU itself.

In an interview with Italian daily La Stampa, published on Wednesday (30 May), the Vatican secretary of state Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone said that if "fundamental rules of cohabitation" are respected, building together a common future is possible "also with [Turkey's] entry in Europe."

"Turkey has come a long way and is still progressing. I mean there are evolutions. There are obviously very different positions. But it is possible to build a mutual dialogue within a framework of individuals, populations and governments who respect the fundamental rules of living together," he said.

The comments represent a shift in the Vatican's position, which had previously opposed Turkey's EU entry on the basis the country's cultural roots are too different from those of mainland Europe.

Comments:  The Vatican changes position more often than a model changes clothes at a fashion show.  What’s up with that?  Pope Benedict’s flip flop on Turkey raises many eyebrows.  Turkey is a Muslim nation.  At a time when some European countries are worried about an Islamic takeover, admitting Turkey into the EU would open the floodgates of Muslim immigration even more.  It doesn’t make any sense.  The Vatican’s change of mind is fuelled by a desire to reach out to Islam to forge unity among major religions and faiths.  The Church of Rome used to wield power over the kings and queens of Europe, but that influence has waned over the centuries.  Look at the proposed EU constitution in which God won’t be mentioned at all despite vocal protestations from the Vatican.  Turkey won’t be admitted to the Revived Roman Empire as Ezekiel 38 seems to imply.  As such, Turkey will turn to its Muslim brothers and Russia as a fall back option.
