Israel and the Vatican meet to settle disputes

May 23, 2007 -- Despite their often troubled relationship, the Vatican and Israel on Monday resumed high-level negotiations aimed at settling disputes over property, taxes and the legal status of the Roman Catholic Church in the Holy Land.

 

It was the first such meeting in five years.

 

Both sides, in a joint statement, praised an atmosphere of "great cordiality, mutual understanding and goodwill" that produced "important progress" in resolving long-standing issues.

 

Members of the delegations, however, said serious disagreement remained.

 

Comments:  Although there appears to be irreconcilable differences, there’s a silver lining. They are at least talking to each other.  The Vatican, centuries ago through the Crusades, galvanized European kings to amass armies of knights and foot soldiers to liberate the Holy Land of the Moslems and in the process, slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Moslems and Jews.  The mistrust of the successive popes was seared into the minds of the Jewish people.  It was reinforced during WW2 when Pope Pius XII was conspicuously silent while Adolph Hitler’s henchmen rounded up millions of European Jews, transported them to death camps, gassed and cremated them.  The Catholic brand of Christianity had labelled Jews ‘Jesus killers’.  (We all had our part in Jesus being crucified at the cross due to our sins.)

 

In these last days just prior to the Tribulation Period, the Vatican is extending its blood stained hands to reach out to the Jews to effect reconciliation.  Let bygones be bygones.  The past is water under the bridge.  Let us deal with the present and the matter of Roman Catholicism in the Holy Land.  The Jews could easily say, “Just get out and leave us alone”, but that’s not possible.  The RRC has a foothold there and it won’t move out anytime soon.  In fact, it plans to increase its religious influence.  The book of Revelation tells us that a soon coming second beast, the False Prophet (FP), will wield worldwide power to amalgamate all the world’s religions and faiths into one entity.  Judaism is one of them.  It’s possible that he (the FP) will be of Jewish descent.  How fitting that would be, a Jew being the religious kingpin of the world ruling from Rome (Mystery Babylon).  The present dialogue between Rome and Jews could lead up to that.  Revelation 13:[11] And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth (perhaps the land of Israel?); and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Two-speed Europe would solve constitution deadlock, Romano Prodi says

May 23, 2007 – In the run up to the decisive EU summit on finding a way out of the constitutional impasse, the pro-European camp has started to sound the drum, with Italy's prime minister calling to "preserve as much as possible" of the draft EU treaty.

 

"In the last two years, almost only eurosceptic views have been listened to. It is time to listen to those who ratified the 2004 treaty," Italian prime minister Romano Prodi told MEPs in Strasbourg on Tuesday (22 May).

 

Mr Prodi – claiming to speak on behalf of 18 EU states which have largely ratified the original text – rejected "radical changes" to the foreseen institutional reforms. He listed the EU foreign minister, a lengthier presidency, the extension of qualified majority voting, the union's legal personality and the abolition of its three-pillar structure as elements which "must be preserved."

 

"If the compromise does not convince us, we will not sign it," he warned, clearly stating that a multi-speed Europe could bring about the long-sought breakthrough on the controversial issue.

 

Comments:   A two-track proposal to resolve the EU constitution impasse?  Since they’re parallel and both are headed in the same destination albeit at different speeds, this Prodi dude makes a whole lot of sense.  The important thing is to get on a train, any train.  You can’t get moving unless you’re on board.  Everyone can worry about rendezvousing later.  This just shows how anxious the pro-EU constitution supporters are.  It has become an obsession.  Many future agenda and projects depend on the EU treaty being ratified, one of them being a lengthier presidency.  The current term of 6 months maximum is a long standing joke.  How can anything of substance get approved and implemented in that short of time period?  The most logical term would be 7 years to match the present 7-year EU budget.  Yes, get the EU treaty signed, sealed and delivered, and have all the heads of state gather around the polling station and elect an EU president vested with the full authority to lead the emerging EU superstate to stardom.  Ladies and gents, we present you our “Antichrist”!  Revelation 17:[12] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

Messiah mystery follows death of mystical rabbi: Revered Israeli apocalyptic kabbalah leader shocks Jews, Christians with name 'Yeshua'

May 23, 2007 -- A controversy is raging in Israel, in evangelical circles in the U.S. and on kabbalah web forums worldwide following the posthumous release of what a revered Sephardic rabbi claimed to be the name of the Messiah.

 

When Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri died in February 2006, somewhere between the age of 106 to possibly 117, 300,000 attended his funeral in Jerusalem.

 

The Baghdad-born kabbalist had gained notoriety around the world for issuing apocalyptic warnings and for saying he personally met the long-awaited Jewish Messiah in November 2003.

 

Before Kaduri died, he reportedly wrote the name of the Messiah on a small note, requesting it remained sealed for one year after his death. The note revealed the name of the Messiah as "Yehoshua" or "Yeshua" – or the Hebrew name Jesus.

 

However, complicating the story further, the note is being challenged as a forgery by his 80-year-old son Rabbi David Kaduri.

 

"It's not his writing," he is quoted as telling Israel Today.

 

The note, written in Hebrew and signed in the rabbi's name, said: "Concerning the letter abbreviation of the Messiah's name, He will lift the people and prove that his word and law are valid. This I have signed in the month of mercy."

 

The Hebrew sentence consists of six words. The first letter of each of those words spells out the Hebrew name Yehoshua or Yeshua.

 

The finding has raised a combination of excitement and controversy in both Jewish and Christian circles – but scarcely any media attention. Jewish blogs and web forums are filled with skeptical analysis and puzzlement.

 

In fact, many Christian discussion boards say Kaduri's description of the Messiah – no matter what his name – doesn't fit the biblical account of a returned Jesus of Nazareth, who, they believe, will rule and reign on Earth from Jerusalem for 1,000 years.

 

About his encounter with the Messiah Kaduri claimed is alive in Israel today, he reportedly told close relatives: "He is not saying, 'I am the Messiah, give me the leadership.' Rather the nation is pushing him to lead them, after they find [in my words] signs showing that he has the status of Messiah."

 

Kaduri was also quoted as saying the imminent arrival of the Messiah will "save Jerusalem from Islam and Christianity that wish to take Jerusalem from the Jewish Nation – but they will not succeed, and they will fight each other."

 

Statements like that have some Christians wondering if Kaduri might be talking about another Yeshua – perhaps even a miracle-performing "false Christ" many evangelicals believe will precede the return of Jesus.

 

Kaduri wrote that not all will believe in the Messiah – and that it will often be easier for non-religious people to accept him. He also describes a Messiah who is, at first, not aware of his position.

 

A few months before his death, Kaduri gave a Yom Kippur address in which he gave clues as to how to recognize the Messiah. He told those gathered for the Day of Atonement in his synagogue the Messiah would not come until former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon dies.

 

Sharon was stricken while in office Jan. 4, 2006. He remained in a coma until replaced by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. While many expected the imminent passing of Sharon, he has remained alive but unconscious ever since his attack.

 

Shortly after what Kaduri characterized as his Nov. 4, 2003, encounter with the Messiah, in which he said he learned his name, the rabbi began warning of impending disasters worldwide.

 

In September 2005 in a class at his Jerusalem yeshiva seminary, Kaduri called for Jews all over the world to return to Israel because of the calamities about to befall the Earth and for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple.

 

Comments:  Joseph Farah of World Net Daily has done it again!  This Arab American, who loves the nation of Israel, has written this article to alert Jews to return to Israel where they will find safe refuge during the upcoming worldwide calamities that will befall this sin stricken planet.  Yes, the Tribulation Period is on the horizon.  The signs are everyone.  The false Messiah is ready to be revealed.  Some Jews in Israel, expecting the real Messiah Yeshua, will be fooled by the charismatic Antichrist (AC).  ‘Antichrist’ means taking the place of Christ.  During the first 3.5 years of his reign, he won’t realize that he is the AC.  After he makes peace between Israel and many peoples/nations, he guarantees the Jewish state protection.  He will start a war to wipe out all his opponents who resist his autocratic rule.  This global war, famine, pestilences and God’s wrath poured out on the inhabitants will result in an ecological disaster of gigantic proportion.

 

The fascinating part of this article is that it was hinted that until Ariel Sharon dies, the false Messiah cannot be revealed.  Why hasn’t Sharon pass away yet?  Our newsletter had speculated months ago that perhaps Sharon will make a remarkable recovery from the ‘apparently fatal’ head wound he suffered, rise from his hospital bed, and the Jews and Gentiles will marvel at this miracle.  Could Sharon very well turn out to be the AC?  Revelation 13:[3] And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast (the Antichrist).

Jehovah’s Witness special on PBS yesterday

“Did anyone watch this last night? It was a special on PBS. Dove into the lives of a couple different Jehovah’s Witness (JW) families, examining their beliefs and the history of their religion.

 

It’s scary what a positive spin they can put on their beliefs. It made them out to sound like this cult is just all happy and loving and true. They showed them going to people’s doors and challenging people there to study the Bible for themselves and see for themselves that Jesus was the Son of God but not God Himself. They bemoaned the fact that people don't understand Jesus and the Jehovah-God is because they do not study the Bible.

 

It’s kinda scary that mixed in with all their lies you could see elements of truth in it... what a deceptive counterfeit.

Comments:  Yes, mixing a little bit of truth with lies can deceive the masses of uniformed people (including Christians).  Jesus warned His disciples that spiritual deception will be one of the major signs of the last days (Mark 13:[5] And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you.)  Many aren’t spiritually grounded in the Bible.  The unsaved are like a rudderless ship in danger of being smashed into pieces by the waves during a ferocious storm. Cults (the JW is one and Mormonism that was another PBS special televised by PBS recently is another one) are deceptively smooth in their public portrayals.  One could easily be fooled into thinking they’re ‘Christian’ since they tote around a leather bound ‘Bible’ and talk about their Jesus.  Upon closer examination, it’s the Mormon Bible or the JW Bible, both with additions and deletions to God’s true Word.  God places a certain anathema on such meddling with His pure Word.  Revelation 22:[18] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: [19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.  The JWs and Mormons are slaves of Satan working feverishly for their salvation.  In the process, they’re zealously plying their hellish wares on the unsuspecting population.  Those who are seeking the meaning of life and those who are disillusioned with their church are ripe for a JW/Mormon invasion.  Readers, don’t allow them into your house and don’t bid them success.  2 John 1:[10] If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: [11] For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

1/4 of young US Muslims say suicide attacks OK

May 23, 2007 -- One in four younger U.S. Muslims said in a poll that suicide bombings to defend their religion are acceptable at least in some circumstances, though most Muslim Americans overwhelmingly reject the tactic and are critical of Islamic extremism and al-Qaida.

 

The survey by the Pew Research Center, one of the most exhaustive ever of the country's Muslims, revealed a community that in many ways blends comfortably into society. Its largely mainstream members express nearly as much happiness with their lives and communities as the general public does, show a broad willingness to adopt American customs, and have income and education levels similar to others in the U.S.

 

Comments:  Why isn’t America specifically mentioned in Bible prophecy?  Some speculate that Babylon the Great is the USA or that it is the great eagle referred to in Revelation 12:14.  However, most Bible prophecy authors speculated that America will be devastated by the Rapture event and will be absorbed by the Revived Roman Empire.  There is a growing consensus out there that small scale nuclear attacks on American cities will paralyze this proud nation.  The perpetrators will most likely be Islamic terrorists.   Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida is No. 1 on the list of terror cells with trained suicide bombers willing to set off suitcase nukes.

 

Young Muslims are idealists and easily manipulated.  They are most susceptible to Islam’s call to destroy the Great Satan America.  Muslims have been accepted into the U.S. armed forces.  That in itself is a cause for concern in battle areas such as Iraq and Afghanistan.  Their allegiance is in question.  American Muslims have divided loyalties.  Would they embrace the West’s culture or would they, when approached by radicals, sacrifice their lives in obedience to the Koran, Allah and the prophet Mohammed?  Nobody really knows.
