Syria plans war with Israel for summer 2007

Source:  menewsline.com

May 15, 2007 -- Syria has advanced its military schedule in what could signal plans for war with Israel in 2007.

Officials said Syria has decided to conduct a series of major military exercises in May through July. They said the decision was meant to accelerate preparations for a war against Israel in the summer of 2007.

"Syria is now in the middle of an unprecedented process of a huge military buildup," Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh said. "They have acquired state-of-the-art Russian weapons, huge quantities of long-range rockets and missiles."

Comments:  Isaiah 17:[1] The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.  The aforementioned prophecy hasn’t yet been fulfilled.  One of these days, Syria will provoke Israel to such an extent that she will respond in a mighty way.  Syria’s military, no matter how beefed up it is, is puny in comparison to Israel’s arsenal.  The Syrians need major help from Iran, Russia and Hezbollah and even then with God on Israel’s side, it would be a foregone conclusion.  The one factor to be considered is that Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad isn’t battle tested like his father was and his father was 0 for infinity when it came to wins against Israel’s vaunted military.  No, I think Syria is simply saber rattling in hopes of getting Israel to come to the peace negotiating tables in order to get the Golan Heights back, but then, who knows what an inexperienced Bashar might do?  Expect the unexpected from a raw rookie.

EU, Arabs vow joint Mideast peace drive, spar on Hamas

Source: www.eux.tv

May 15, 2007 -- The European Union and the Arab League on Monday vowed joint Middle East peace efforts but sparred on Europe's refusal to open direct discussions with Hamas members of the new Palestinian government.

"Jointly we feel we can do a lot to promote the process of reconciliation between Israel and the Palestinians," German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier told reporters after key Arab ministers met their EU counterparts in Brussels.

The German foreign minister said the current Arab drive for peace between Israel and the Palestinians represented a "window of opportunity and we should avail of it."

Germany is current president of the 27-nation EU.

Echoing Steinmeier, EU chief diplomat Javier Solana said the EU, along with the US, Russia and the United Nations - members of the international quartet working for Middle East peace - wanted more cooperation with the Arab League.

"Our minds are closer, lets hope that our actions get closer to achieve the objective of peace," Solana said.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal described the unprecedented meeting with the EU as "historic" and said both sides agreed the festering Israeli-Palestinian conflict represented a "tremendous danger to the international community and our region."

Comments:  The Old Roman Empire consisted of the Western (EU) and the Eastern Mediterranean-North Africa portions.  Bible prophecy (see the books of Daniel and Revelation) foretells the revival of the Old Roman Empire in the final days prior to Jesus’ return to Earth.  This news article speaks of the joint efforts of both portions to resolve the seemingly intractable Middle East conundrum.  The 2002 Saudi Peace Plan appears to be the front horse (ahead of the Quartet’s Roadmap) in the Middle East peace derby.  The Arabs, and not the Europeans, seem to be leading the way for a comprehensive peace accord.  The EU appears to be taking a backseat to the Arab initiative.  The Hamas situation must somehow be dealt with and soon because the window of opportunity will slam shut.  Cooperation is the operative word these days.  Let’s all row in unison and in the same direction.  Can Middle East peace be far behind?   It will get done, but only after the Rapture event has occurred.

Ehud Olmert survives three votes of no confidence

Source: www.wilmingtonstar.com

May 15, 2007 -- Embattled Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert passed a parliamentary test with surprising ease Monday, defeating three parliamentary motions of no confidence by wide margins.

Under Israeli law, an absolute majority of 61 of the Knesset's 120 members is needed to adopt a motion forcing the government to resign. But each of the motions drew only 28 "yes" votes, while the vote against ranged from 60 to 62, with six to nine members abstaining.

Olmert has been under increasing criticism over last summer's costly, bloody and inconclusive war in Lebanon. Last week an official government commission issued a scathing report on the war, heaping blame on Olmert for failures in his decision-making process.

Comments:  Ehud Olmert is a cat (hippie word for a dude) of many lives it would appear.  He has become an expert at dodge ball.  Calls for his resignation haven’t translated into concrete votes for his ouster.  This man lives to lead another day so he thinks.  I don’t know about you, but I suspect his days are numbered.  His many opponents like to see him squirm in his Knesset ergonomically designed chair.  Let him sweat it out as his successor wannabes plan their strategies.  Meanwhile, Israel’s enemies (Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad) are biding their time building up arms for the next war (many think it will be this Summer) against Israel.

At this most perilous time in Israel’s modern history, she needs a strong military trained leader at the helm.  Olmert is not that person.  For the sake of the country, he ought to step down.  His people’s confidence in him is akin to a heart patient agreeing to have an intern operate on him.

New World Order poster

Source: www.nato.int

May 15, 2007 – Go to: http://www.nato.int/docu/posters/wor...gether-eng.pdf

Comments:  As you can see by magnifying the PDF poster to “Fit Width’, it’s a poster showing the flags of many nations (predominately European) with The Holy See (the Vatican), U.S., Russia and Canada included.  Turkey (part of NATO) and the Muslim ex-Soviet Republics are also shown.  Noticeably, China and India (part of the kings of the East) are missing.

This poster represents the New World Order (NWO) as envisioned by the NWO planners, movers and shakers who take their orders from the god of this world, the Devil himself.  It’s man centered with a God “need not apply” theme.  Its aim is global governance with the future Antichrist as its autocratic dictatorial leader.  It’s the return to the Tower of Babel when mankind was one.  Who would have ever predicted that this coming together would be happening in our lifetime?

Jordan's King Abdullah set to meet Ehud Olmert

Source: Associated Press

May 15, 2007 -- Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert expressed his country's readiness Tuesday to discuss an Arab peace initiative and find ways to implement such a plan.

Olmert said after arriving for talks with Jordan's King Abdullah II that Israel was "ready to sit down and talk about it carefully" and was willing to listen to Arab views.

"We heard about the Arab peace initiative and we say come and present it to us. You want to talk to us about it, we are ready to sit down and talk about it carefully," he told a conference in this ancient city.

Describing the plan as "very interesting," Olmert said "we are ready to cooperate to find the appropriate manner to implement. If the Arab countries want to present their peace initiative, we will be more than happy to sit down and listen carefully."

Olmert invited the "22 leaders of the Arab nations that are ready to make that kind of peace with Israel, to come to Israel, where ever they want and to sit down with us and start talk and present their ideas."

He added that if they were willing to invite him somewhere for talks, then "I'm ready to come."

Olmert arrived in Petra for a rare high-level meeting with Abdullah on the sidelines of a conference involving Nobel Laureates and Israeli and Arab youth on ways to solve conflicts in the Mideast.

"We are ready to come and to invite" Arab leaders "without preconditions from us or their side," Olmert said.

Comments:  You know it’s a bad omen when Israel’s leader is beside himself enthusing over a Made in Arabia peace plan.  Ehud Olmert needs to be restrained before he gives away the entire shop even before negotiations take place.  He’s like a hungry dog salivating over a pork chop hanging in a butcher’s shop.  Doesn’t he know that the smooth king of Jordan has a hidden agenda?  Since 1999, quite a few prophecy students have had serious thoughts about the Antichrist (AC) being an Arab.  Yes, an Arab.  Brother Sal advanced the possibility the AC would come from the Hashemite Kingdom that’s modern day Jordan.  We’re not saying definitely that King Abdullah will be the AC, but his lineage is food for thought.  The king of fierce countenance (see Daniel 8:23) will happen upon the scene shortly after the Rapture event.  Whoever is Israel’s prime minister at that time will agree to a comprehensive peace treaty (see Daniel 9:27) brokered by the AC.  Once the AC has secured Israel’s cooperation and confidence, he’ll protect her for 3.5 years.  After that, he’ll show his true nature and turns on the Jews and kills 2/3 of them.  Mr. Olmert might as well place his neck on the guillotine block now as a harbinger of things to come.
