The Sanhedrin’s peace initiative - 3rd Temple, conference in 5 months
Source: www.ynetnews.com
May 3, 2007 -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has been gearing up for an Israeli offensive in recent months, is bound to be surprised by the peace feelers he is set to receive from Jerusalem soon.
Without Saudi mediation or diplomatic procedures, the president will get a “Letter of Love and Peace”, accompanied by a historic invitation to visit Jerusalem, from The Supreme Judicial Court of the Jewish People, better known as the Sanhedrin.
After having tried their luck with the High Court of Justice and the government, the members of the Jewish group have set out on a new track in their struggle for the Temple Mount, aimed at rebuilding the Temple in the Jewish capital.
In recent days, the group members have drafted a letter that will be translated into 70 languages and sent to all government institutions in the world, including “the sons of Esau and Ishmael” who do not hold diplomatic ties with Israel.
In the letter, the rabbis of the self-proclaimed Sanhedrin warn that the world is nearing a catastrophe, and write that the only way to bring peace among nations, states, and religions is by building a house for God, where Jews will worship, pray and offer up sacrifice, according to the vision of the prophets.
The rabbis also call on the non-Jews to help the people of Israel fulfill their destiny and build the Temple, in order to prevent bloodshed across the globe.
The letter will initially be translated into English, Spanish, Arabic, French and Farsi, and later also into Russian, Chinese and Japanese, and will include an invitation to world leaders to attend a conference dedicated to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem five months from now, during Succot.
Prof Hillel Weiss of the Sanhedrin explained that the Torah and the prophets have tasked the Jewish people with the responsibility for world peace. He stressed that the group’s project was to rebuild the Temple, not a “church for all nations, but added, “We have all descended from the same father, this is not another primitive and racist approach.”
Comments: Daniel 9:[27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. We thank Debbie W. for finding this eye opening article.
The Sanhedrin is spearheading the way for global peace by resolving the Israeli situation once and for all. Why are we reading, seeing and hearing on the Internet, TV and radio every day about the Middle East region and particularly the Israeli-Arab conflict? It’s because Israel is front and center to what’s irritating the nations of this world. She’s like a grain of sand that an oyster finds so annoying. Israel can’t seem to simply go away. It’s not only the Arab/Muslim world, but the Western nations and others who are so perturbed at her continual existence. No Israel, no problems, right?
To solve the problem once and for all, the Sanhedrin pleads for the 3rd Temple to be erected, animal sacrifice re‑instated and then worldwide peace will ensue. Now, how did they come to that conclusion? It could be a direct reference to Daniel 9:27 in which the future world leader, the Antichrist, will astonish the entire world by permitting Israel’s religious rabbis to build their 3rd Temple in exchange for Israel to finally agree to all of the Arabs’ demands. The Temple Mount would be shared by both Jews and Arabs. Jerusalem would be declared an international city and Middle East peace will at last dawn on that troublesome hot spot. World peace because God will bring it about for He will have His house on the Temple Mount. Sounds like something out of the Old Testament. Perhaps, the international community will perk up and take notice of this Sanhedrin initiative. At this late stage in the game, every possible brainstorming solution will be considered.

Gay ex-governor to attend Episcopalian seminary
Source: cnn.com
May 3, 2007 -- The nation's first openly gay governor has become an Episcopalian and been accepted into a seminary, according to a published report.
Former Gov. James E. McGreevey, who was raised as a Roman Catholic, was officially received into the Episcopal religion on Sunday at St. Bartholomew's Church in New York, said the Rev. Kevin Bean, vicar at the church.
McGreevey has entered the church's "discernment" phase, which usually precedes seminary work, Bean told The Star-Ledger of Newark in a report posted Wednesday on its Web site.
McGreevey has been accepted to study at the General Theological Seminary in New York, the oldest in the Episcopal Church, school spokesman Bruce Parker said Wednesday.
Comments: If you can’t study to become a Catholic priest because the Vatican frowns upon openly (covert is OK until you’re found out) gay men, the next best thing is being a seminary student at a mainline liberal Protestant denomination. The liberals won’t turn anyone away. In fact, if more gay clergies are to occupy the pulpits, you need a good farm system to replenish the older stock when they retire. Not that McGreevey is a spring chick by any stretch of the imagination, he does represent new blood. His high profile might lead younger males to consider attending seminaries rather than traditional secular liberal colleges and universities. The curricula would be almost the same except that seminaries can talk about God without eye brows being raised. Of course, with liberal seminaries being so humanistic these days, the God that is being taught is man’s interpretation (aided by the Devil) of what a universal God is all about.
Gays have already determined to oppose God and their teachings from the pulpits will naturally reflect the misguided concept that God isn’t unhappy with the gay lifestyle. In fact, God wants all of his children to love life and share that love with others no matter what their beliefs are. God is not narrow minded or judgmental. You can be a gay Christian. The doctrines of demons resonate from the vaulted ceilings of seminaries. The Devil and demons are bent over in uncontrollable laughter.

Syria amassing large military force on Israel's border
Source: www.israelnationalnews.com
May 3, 2007 -- Salai Meridor, Israel's ambassador in Washington, DC, said Wednesday that Syria has greatly increased the size of the force it has along the border with Israel, and that it had not built up such a large force "since Yom Kippur" (i.e., the 1973 Yom Kippur War).
IBA radio quoted Meridor as saying that Israel had sent a message to Damascus clarifying it had no intention to attack it.
Comments: It appears that Syria is readying itself for another round of “shoot them up” with Israel. Having not learnt its past lessons in 1948, 1953, 1967 and 1973, Syria is putting up its dukes once again daring Israel to throw the first punch. There’s a saying “Only a fool expects different results by using the same old unsuccessful methods.” Israel has a vastly superior military than does Syria. It would be like the North Dakota High School football team taking on the New England Patriots. It would a massacre. Yet, Syria thinks it can intimidate Israel and if Israel takes the bait, Syria would lay a good spanking on Israel. Dream on…
Bible prophecy must come to past. The unfulfilled Isaiah 17:1 prophecy is flashing like lights on a bill board. God has assembled the Syria military to challenge Israel once again so He can pummel the petulant Syrians. It could be later this spring or this summer. All indications are that this time around, Hezbollah won’t be going it alone in fighting the Israelis. Syria will arm to arm alongside Hezbollah. It will be “united we stand, divided we fall”. The evil duet will be decimated and deservingly so. God’s patience with the descendants of Ishmael has reached its limit.

Honeybee deaths could take the buzz out of our diet
Source: Associated Press
May 3, 2007 -- Unless someone or something stops it soon, the mysterious killer that is wiping out many of the country's honeybees could have a devastating effect on Americans' dinner plates, perhaps even reducing us to a glorified bread-and-water diet.
Honeybees don't just make honey; they pollinate more than 90 of the tastiest flowering crops we have.
Among them: apples, nuts, avocados, soybeans, asparagus, broccoli, celery, squash and cucumbers. And lots of the really sweet and tart stuff, too, including citrus fruit, peaches, kiwi, cherries, blueberries, cranberries, strawberries, cantaloupe and other melons.
About one-third of the human diet comes from insect-pollinated plants, and the honeybee is responsible for 80 per cent of that pollination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Even cattle, which feed on alfalfa, depend on bees. So if the collapse worsens, we could end up being "stuck with grains and water," said Kevin Hackett, the national program leader for USDA's bee and pollination program.
"This is the biggest general threat to our food supply," Hackett said. While not all scientists foresee a food crisis, noting that large-scale bee die-offs have happened before, this one seems particularly baffling and alarming.
U.S. beekeepers in the past few months have lost one-quarter of their colonies -- or about five times the normal winter losses -- because of what scientists have dubbed Colony Collapse Disorder. The problem started in November and seems to have spread to 27 states, with similar collapses reported in Brazil, Canada and parts of Europe.
Scientists are struggling to figure out what is killing the honeybees, and early results of a key study this week point to some kind of disease or parasite.
Comments: Revelation 6:[4] And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. [5] And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. [6] And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
There’s a worldwide famine coming due to a devastating future war. Food will be scarce as a result. It will take one day’s pay for just one loaf of bread. Ahead of this famine, we’re seeing the preliminary effects of what the food stock is experiencing. It’s God who created the bees, flying insets that we take for granted. They’re dying out and man’s brains can’t figure it out. Of course, God is permitting this phenomenon to happen in order to get our attention. Our planet has 6.5 billion hungry mouths to feed. How many give thanks to Him for their daily food? Perhaps 5%. We’re a thankless generation. Mankind thinks he produces food in abundance without acknowledging the Blesser in Heaven. The reality is that this world has a limited supply of food stored in warehouses. All it takes are severe dust bowl conditions in the U.S. and Canada and there would be pandemonium at the supermarkets.
Many fruits and vegetables are attributed to the hard working bees. With bees dying off, that means lean times are just around the bend. The Rapture event is imminent. Afterwards, war and famine will ravage this overpopulated earth. The rich won’t need to worry. They’ve prepared for the worst. It will be the commoners and peasants who will feel the immense hunger. It’s always been that way. The years of plenty will give way to dearth in the land.

Prodi favours two-speed EU if mini-treaty adopted
Source: EUObserver.com
May 3, 2007 -- Italian leader Romano Prodi has said his country will not "sign up just to any compromise" on the revised EU constitution, adding that a minimalist solution - emerging as the most likely deal ahead of EU talks in June - should prompt member states which favour deeper integration to go ahead on their own.
"For us, the voice of citizens from the countries that ratified the treaty in 2004 has to be valued the same as those from countries that have not. And that's why Italy is not ready to pursue minimal common denominations at any cost," Mr Prodi said on Wednesday (2 May) in Lisbon, according to Italian press.
The EU constitution, largely ratified by 18 member states including Italy, was rejected by French and Dutch citizens in 2005. The European Union's German presidency is currently preparing a roadmap for adopting a revised version.
Speaking at a debate about the future of Europe at the Portuguese parliament - Lisbon is set to chair the EU from July - Mr Prodi said "we don't necessarily have to proceed all together at the same speed."
Comments: Each EU nation ought to proceed according to their own pace. What an odd thing for Romano Prodi to suggest. This coming from a former EU Commission President, arguably the most powerful European politician at that time. Of course, if he had things his way, he would whip every horse to gallop together in unison. The 27 member states can’t seem to see eye to eye on the importance of having a ratified EU constitution in place. Nationalism is the culprit. National pride dictates each country’s reticence or acceptance of the proposed draft document. No one seems to think that the good of the whole outweighs the desires of the individual. A united Europe with a defined constitution leading to the election of a president for a fixed term, let’s say 7 years, will declare to the world community, “We are family. We will surpass the U.S. as the No. 1 dude on the block.”
Mr. Prodi is a frustrated man. He knows that his proposal doesn’t really address the disunity issue. It’s a band-aid short term solution that has to suffice until some strongman arrives on the scene and knocks some sense into the dissenters. Until then, the EU constitution must not be allowed to die. Either get with the program or jump off the bandwagon of criticism.
