U.S. Muslims tackle sectarian divisions

May 7, 2007 -- Muslim leaders are trying to strengthen Sunni-Shiite ties in the United States, hoping to head off conflicts between the faith's two major sects and get American Muslims to focus on common problems.
With sectarian divisions fueling violence in Iraq, Sunnis and Shiites in the U.S. are increasingly wary of a spillover effect. In one public example, leaders from both traditions have launched "Intra-faith Code of Honor" campaigns in three cities with major Muslim populations.
So far, 20 Sunni and Shiite leaders in Southern California have signed the first such code. The document denounces "takfir" - the labeling of another Muslim as a nonbeliever - forbids hateful speech about revered figures and urges debates at the scholarly level, not the street level.
Similar agreements are expected to be completed this month in Detroit and Washington, D.C.
Comments: United we stand and divided we’ll fall. Such is the sad refrain of Muslims worldwide. How can Islam possibly exterminate all the infidels who won’t convert to Islam? How can Islam wipe out all Jews? It’s a quandary faced by Muslims who are expending energy fighting each other. Look at Iraq for a prime example. Sunnis vs. Shiites. A house divided. God caused the descendants of Ishmael to have brother fight brother. Genesis 16:[12] And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
There will be eventual unity at the start of the Ezekiel 38/39 invasion of Israel. Unity begins at the regional levels and spreads to the bigger picture like an ink blotter.

Mount Rainier reopens road to Paradise

May 7, 2007 -- The road to Paradise is open once more. Six months after November floods ravaged the main road in this park in the Washington Cascades - along with campgrounds, trails and the wild country in general - the way to Mount Rainier's main visitor center reopened Saturday.
An hour before the opening, more than 100 cars and trucks had already lined up outside the park's Nisqually entrance, The Olympian newspaper reported.
"I'm going to get up to Paradise, set up my tent and go up to Camp Muir for the day," Curtis Plumb said as he readied his 44-pound backpack. "Then I'm going back down to Paradise and stay the night.
"Yeah, I'm excited to get up there."
Comments: They say, “The road to Hell is paved with good intentions”. This road to Paradise misnomer is nothing more than a detour erected by the Devil to direct unwary humans to the Lake of Fire. Paradise is not a place on earth. It was originally the Garden of Eden and after Adam and Eve sinned, mankind was driven out of Eden, thus Paradise Lost. One of the thieves hanging on a cross asked Jesus to remember him. Jesus responded with “Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise (Luke.23:[43].)” That thief would shortly die and would be ushered in God’s presence. Now, that’s paradise!
No matter how well man cleans up this polluted world or wishes for a utopian society, he won’t find it here. The saved will be leaving soon for the Father’s house of many mansions. When we finally get there, we won’t be singing “Strangers in Paradise”. No, we’ll know each other being that we’re part of the Body of Christ. 1 John 3:[2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Edgar Bronfman resigns as WJC president

May 7, 2007 -- After months of turmoil, the longtime president of the New York-based World Jewish Congress, Edgar Bronfman, announced his resignation Monday in a move meant to avert an historic split in the organization, officials said.
Bronfman, 77, led the WJC for the last quarter century. The decision was announced at a meeting of the group's steering committee in Manhattan.
A new president will be elected on June 10.
Pierre Besnainou, president of the European Jewish Congress, had been calling for new leadership, saying he might pull out of the organization if elections were not held this year.
Besnainou said Monday he would back Mendel Kaplan, chairman of the executive, for WJC president.
It was not known late Monday whether Jewish National Fund president Ronald S. Lauder would enter the race.
Bronfman's son, Matthew, is not expected to be a candidate.
Comments: God is indeed a gracious God. Although many of His chosen people the Jews have sinned mightily and have led many a soul to end up in the gutters of depravity and Hell, He still loves His people. Case in point: The Bronfman family made their fortune by producing and selling hard liquor by way of their Seagram’s Distillers Limited. “Bronfman” is translated “whiskey man”. How many souls have become drunk, got behind a wheel and killed some innocent pedestrians or riders in other cars? How many alcoholics have wasted their family fortune and became destitute leading to a divorce and visitation rights? Plenty.
Sure, the Bronfmans love Jews in Israel and have raised funds to support the Jewish state. They made people in other countries aware of the Arab-Israeli conflict and how Israelis are being terrorized. Fine things they’ve done for the Jewish cause. Edgar Bronfman may be leaving the WJC behind, but be sure he’s not done yet with his “Save Israel” contributions. God uses unsaved Jews like the Bronfmans to serve His purpose. We can’t really comprehend it, but we marvel at Him nevertheless.

Turkey reacts coolly to Sarkozy win

May 7, 2007 -- Turkey has said it hopes that French president-elect Nicolas Sarkozy will not damage bilateral relations between Ankara and Paris after a political campaign in which the centre-right politician repeatedly stressed his opposition to Turkish EU membership.
Comments: We have repeatedly predicted that Turkey won’t be joining the EU ever. It’s not in the “cards” nor is it congruent with the list of Muslim nations in Ezekiel 38 which will join Russia in their march toward Israel to invade her. We believe Turkey is Togarmah. Turkey’s EU membership application has been held up when other lesser nations have been admitted prior to and after Turkey’s date of application. This has really irked the Turks to no end. Frustrated Turks have rallied the government to leave NATO and align the country with its traditional Muslim countries. The election of a new French president who doesn’t like Turkey doesn’t bode well at all. Cool Turkey could spark a spate of food poisoning. Eat it hot or eat it cold or don’t touch it, but never devour it cool.

Crowd packs amphitheater for man claiming he's Jesus Christ reincarnated

May 7, 2007 -- A controversial religious figure who claims he is Jesus Christ incarnate with a following of millions with "666" tattoos on their bodies, filled an amphitheater in Orlando this weekend, and promised joy, peace and prosperity.
Orlando police officers stood guard around the Lake Eola amphitheater as Dr. Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda, 61, arrived in the city Saturday.
Miranda, who has been banned from three countries, told Local 6 News cameras and a cheering crowd that he was Jesus Christ reincarnated.
His followers believe that Miranda's life and his teachings replace those of Jesus of Nazareth, Local 6's Jamie Guirola said.
Comments: Mark 13:[21] And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not. Barnum Bailey said, “There’s a sucker born every minute”. How can intelligent people be so deceived by this Dr. Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda? Don’t they know that when Christ returns to Earth, it will be on the top of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem Israel? Oh right, people don’t read the Bible let alone understand what God has to say. They run after a charismatic charmer who sweet talks and brainwashes them to follow him blindly just like Jimmy Jones did 30 years ago in Guyana South America. People want so much to believe that a mere mortal is Jesus in the flesh. The Devil has spread his net of deception far and wide and has ensnared many a religious man, woman and child. As we get closer to the end of days, more Christ pretenders will appear on the scene.
