Terror threat more serious than ever, says Europol

April 12, 2007 -- The European law enforcement organisation, Europol, has come out with its first report on the terrorism situation in the EU saying that although it is not a new phenomenon in Europe, the threat to member states is more serious than ever.

 

The report – which gives an overview of terrorism activities in the EU's 27member states – was presented to the European Parliament on Tuesday (10 April) where EU officials debated proposals for boosting the powers of the bloc's law enforcement arm to enhance police cooperation in fighting cross-border crime and terrorism.

 

According to the report, 706 individuals were arrested in 15 member states on suspicion of terrorism offences in 2006, half of those arrests involved threats from Islamic extremists.

 

Almost 500 terrorist attacks were reportedly carried out in 11 member states last year with separatists and nationalists in the Basque region of Spain and on the French island of Corsica responsible for most of the attacks.

 

Only one terrorist attack in 2006 was registered as having to do with Islamic extremism, according to the report.

 

"Terrorism is not a new phenomenon in the EU. Nevertheless, in the twenty-first century, the threat posed by terrorism to member states is more serious than ever," the organisation said in a statement on Tuesday.

 

Comments:  The war against terrorism is nothing more than a pretext to take away more of citizens’ rights and freedoms ahead of the revealing of the Antichrist dictator.  The New World Order/One World Government planners and backers began their campaign prior to the Rapture event (not that they know when this event will occur) and will continue after the beast takes over control of the Revived Roman Empire and ultimately the entire world.  Earth’s inhabitants are terribly perplexed about Islam’s vow to conquer the world through force.  The terrorist activities reached a pinnacle with the 9/11 attacks against American targets and continued in Spain, England and other European locales.  Homeland security is paramount in the minds of frightened citizens.  They’ll gladly put aside their privacy concerns if governments can somehow safeguard their physical safety.  Europol (i.e. European police, the precursor to the Antichrist’s global police force) is putting into place a comprehensive security grid network that will make it safer for all Europeans.  Terrorists will be rounded up and incarcerated/executed.  The war is long‑term and will gradually eliminate the enemies of the state.  Revelation 13:[4] And they worshipped the dragon (Satan) which gave power unto the beast (the Antichrist): and they (world citizens)  worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

Archbishop of York calls Church of England a "corporate failure"

April 12, 2007 -- The Church of England is guilty of “corporate failure” because it has not properly spread the message of Christ, the Archbishop of York has said.

 

Ugandan-born Dr. John Sentamu said in an interview on BBC Radio 4’s Today program, that the Church had instead become engaged in “endless debates” about issues like the ordination of homosexual priests.

 

“The Church has not been very good at clearly spelling out what the message of Jesus is about,” he said.

 

He added that this had had allowed “illiberal secularism” to produce a “very cynical” culture.

 

“All of us as members of the body of Christ need to do more.

 

“What we should be about is telling people that God in Jesus has come in a human form, died, rose again and his presence, in terms of the spirit, actually transforms lives.”

 

Dr. Sentamu described the fall in average attendance at church services as “worrying”, and warned that the decline of traditional faith was having a damaging effect on society.

 

“The trouble you have is that there is a desire for self-fulfillment,” he said.

 

“Unfortunately, as we see it in this country, it turns out to turn into self-assertiveness and very little self-examination and we end up with a culture which is very cynical, blaming somebody else, constantly endeavoring to put other people down.”

 

Comments:  Dr. John Sentamu is right, of course, about the preoccupation with the ordination of homosexual priests.  This ought to be a no-brainer, i.e. no homosexual person should be allowed in public ministry.  God doesn’t need or want this person’s service, but his unswerving obedience to His Word. In the case of a man who chose the abhorrent alternative lifestyle, this is defying God’s Word.

 

Dr. John Sentamu is also right on the mark about our failure in spreading Jesus’s message to the entire world.  However, he didn’t convey 100% of the real message of Jesus and that is: Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1 Timothy 1:15).  Yes, Jesus does transform people’s lives after they’re saved.  He died for sinners and not for the righteous.  Like Pastor Joel Osteen of Dallas Texas, Dr. John Sentamu believes that Jesus will transform our lives so we can live happy and productive lives right now on earth.  It’s the “Your Best Life Now” philosophy.  Both do not preach the pure Gospel of God, but the prosperity gospel which like the social gospel is another gospel.  Where are repentance of sins, the shedding of Jesus’s blood to cleanse sins, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life?  The Church of England as with most liberal mainline Protestant churches has lost sight of the true gospel.  Galatians 1:[8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

China and Japan pledge closer ties

April 12, 2007 -- Strengthening a fragile detente, Japanese and Chinese leaders meeting in Tokyo pledged Wednesday to work together on North Korea, energy development and the environment, while defusing thorny disputes over history and territory.

 

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is on the first visit to Japan by a Chinese leader in nearly seven years, building on a trip by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Beijing last year to salvage seriously damaged ties.

 

The two declared firm intentions to move forward on rebuilding relations, signing agreements on energy and the environment and issuing a joint statement that laid out a series of issues for the countries to cooperate on.

 

"We must build future-oriented and stable Japan-China relations," Abe said at a banquet in Wen's honor. "We want to expand our common interests through strengthening dialogue in various fields."

 

Wen said he expected his three-day visit to be a success.

 

"We must keep up the momentum toward building friendly ties that have been forged between the governments and peoples of the two countries," he said. "Japan and China are at a crossroads where we must inherit the past while opening up the future."

 

Comments:  Revelation 16:[12] And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.  I surmise that the kings of the east (i.e. east in relation to Jerusalem) will be China, Japan, the two Koreas, Vietnam, Thailand, Pakistan, India, etc.  One by one, China has reached out to smooth over strained relations with Russia, India and now Japan.  China needs them as allies for now and in the future.  It’s “Let bygones be bygones” and “It’s water under the bridge”.  Forgive and try to mend neighbourly fences.  China’s goal is to dominate the world and that means also to challenge the God of Heaven.  Godless Communist China sees tiny Israel as a symbol of God that must be blotted out.  1978 saw the completion of the construction of the Karakorum Highway connecting Pakistan and China through the Himalayan and Karakorum mountains.   Why such a highway?  How about this verse?  Revelation 9:[16] And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand (i.e. 200 million): and I heard the number of them.  A 1967 TIME Magazine article quoted China as having the capability of mobilizing an army consisting of 200 million soldiers/militiamen.  Talk about Bible prophecy being so eerily accurate!

Physicians believe God can help patients

April 12, 2007 -- A majority of American doctors believe God or another supernatural being intervenes in patients' health, a study has found.

 

And nearly two in five doctors believe religion and spirituality can help prevent bad outcomes such as heart attacks, infections and even death, according to the University of Chicago nationwide survey of 2,000 physicians.

 

Religious doctors were more likely than nonreligious doctors to believe this -- and to report that patients bring up religious issues.

 

Dr. Wayne Detmer, an internist at Lawndale Christian Health Center, said all doctors have seen cures of patients "that don't make sense based on our current understanding of physiology or medicine."

 

Detmer recalls one patient, disabled by a neurological condition, who was able to walk again after praying. A pastor, diagnosed with terminal lymphoma, is still alive after 13 years. And a suicidal patient has regained the willingness to live after prayer.

 

Detmer said he can't prove God made these patients better. But he notes the Bible says Jesus healed people. "It's not so much of a stretch to believe He can still do it."

 

Comments:  What Christians take for granted, i.e. Jesus is the Great Physician and He is able to heal any illness, the unsaved only came to this realization just now.  Just incredible!  Do doctors believe that they or medications have the power to heal?  That’s pompous arrogance!  It’s God who breathed life into a baby and it’s He who sustains life.  There have been many documented reports of patients having incurable cancers with mere days or hours to live being cured 100% with no trace of the malignancy.  Only miracles from God could explain that.  There’s really nothing to prove.  God as the Creator holds all life in the balance.  Doctors may not be able to explain the healing process because they look only to science.  Just open their Bibles and read one account after another of God and Jesus curing diseases and they’ll be convinced.  Put aside their Hippocratic Oath and just ponder about God’s magnificent power over all of creation and their eyes will be opened to see the truth.  Matthew 9:[35] And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.  Hebrews 13:[8] Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The Maitreya Buddha statue is being designed to last for at least 1,000 years. Through this entire new millennium and into the next, it will effect positive change within the hearts and minds of people all over the world and benefit the people of India through its social and economic activities.

 

The Maitreya Buddha statue is being built to bring as much benefit as possible, for as long as possible, so that loving-kindness will eventually arise in the hearts of all beings.

 

Comments:   I wanted to comment on the world’s tallest Buddha statue to highlight the insidious spiritual deception that’s out there gripping not only the swarm of people in India, but the so called enlightened Westerners.  Read the article and the description of Buddhism’s idealism and you’ll think to yourself, “How idyllic.  This describes the future Millennial reign of Jesus especially the lofty assertion that this grotesque statue (idolatry) will last 1,000 years.  Bliss, love, harmony, brotherhood/sisterhood, world peace, tolerance, acceptance, etc.”  One big thing missing: Jesus Christ.  This planet’s inhabitants may try to bring about all these utopian ideals, but man’s efforts will fail miserably.  Maitreya will fall on his face.  Only Jesus will effect worldwide peace and harmony.

 

Westerners’ fixation with Buddhism and their reverence for the Dalai Lama even to the point of addressing him as “his holiness” just show how the Devil has such a vice‑like grip on the minds of the unregenerate.  In their pursuit of enlightenment, they have out and out rejected the claims of Jesus and instead have made themselves a golden Buddha (a dead man) to pay homage to.  His statute visible to millions in the surrounding countryside of India is a testament of the spiritual darkness that shrouds this idolatrous world.  We marvel at God’s grace for we were once found among them.  We can declare: 1 Thessalonians 1:[9] For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God.
