Top U.S. Democrat meets with radical Islamists

April 11, 2007 -- Shortly after House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi took flak for her controversial visit to Damascus, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer met in Egypt with leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist network that spawned Hamas.

 

Hoyer's spokeswoman, Stacey Bernards, was quoted Sunday as denying that the Maryland Democrat had "personal meetings" with Muslim Brotherhood members. Bernards confirmed the lawmaker had taken part in a meeting with Egyptian legislators, including Mohammed Saad el-Katatni, who heads the Brotherhood's parliamentary bloc.

 

The Muslim Brotherhood's website, however, referred to a "high profile meeting" between Hoyer and el-Katatni, although it said the encounter was downplayed by the Brotherhood and Hoyer's office.

 

The website's editor, Khaled Salam, said the meeting "clearly signals a positive shift in the attitude of both sides to explore the prospects of a more formal dialogue which hopefully will gain more supporters in the U.S. if Democrats win the White House in 2008."

 

"The meeting is expected to cause anxiety in the U.S. especially among the powerful pro-Israel supporters who will not be happy to see any rapprochement between the U.S. and M.B. in any forms or shape," Salam continued.

 

Comments:  Simply put, Israel will not meet or talk with Hamas until this terror organization renounces violence and recognizes Israel’s right to exist.  There’s a saying “Never say never”.  Remember when Israel’s leaders adamantly refused to meet with Yasser Arafat.  That all changed when one of Israel’s most decorated generals, Yitzhak Rabin, not only spoke and met with Arafat, but he signed the Oslo Accords on the White Lawn on September 13, 1993.  Although Rabin was a fierce “look them straight in the eyes and when you see their pupils, shoot” soldier, his political leanings were left of center.  He led Israel’s Labor Party which is a cousin to the U.S. Democratic Party, liberal to the core.  Liberals are peaceniks, environmentalists, godless, socialists, compromisers, etc.  If they weren’t called by such a non-threatening name, they would be termed communists.

 

Radical Islam and Liberal Democrats make for a good fit.  Democrats generally detest the nation of Israel.  Under Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, the Dems strong-armed Israel into one peace accord after another, e.g. Peace with Egypt and Jordan, Wye River, Oslo.  If Presidents Reagan, Bush Sr and Jr hadn’t broken the Carter-Clinton Axis, most of if not all of Israel would have been turned over to the Muslims.  This Steny Hoyer dude must reveal what his talk with the radicals was all about.  Did he tell them that under a Democrat White House Administration, the President will force Israel to talk peace with Hamas?  Jewish lobbyists at the U.S. Congress ought to be very concerned indeed.  Unless God intervenes once more, it’s looking more and more like Hilary Clinton or Barack Obama will take the White House on November 4, 2008 and Israel will be further dividing her already dwindling God given land.

Iran engaged in 'Nuclear Boasting,' Israel says

April 11, 2007 -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a "dangerous leader" but his claims that Iran can now produce nuclear fuel on an "industrial scale" should not be believed, Israeli officials said on Tuesday.

 

"Ahmadinejad is engaged in nuclear boasting," a government official said by telephone. "He likes to make the impression that they have a capability they do not have."

 

In the United States, National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said the White House is "very concerned" about Iran's announcement on Monday that it has entered an "industrial stage" of producing nuclear fuel.

 

Iran on Monday marked the one-year anniversary of its (supposed) ability to enrich uranium. At the ceremony, Ahmadinejad announced that his country had joined the "nuclear club of nations."

 

Comments:  The Iranian president sports a certain swagger about him these days.  He has taken center stage as the world wonders “Does Iran or does it not have nuclear fuel?”  Only Israel knows for sure, but she’s keeping her cards close to her vest.  When the bombers drop their bunker busting bombs and the fighter jets strafe the surface infrastructures, then you know definitely that Iran has let the dogs out.

 

Boasting only serves to kick sand in your opponent’s face.  Iran hasn’t had a modern war with Israel to experience the licking Israel can lay on her enemies.  Just ask Egypt, Syria and Jordan.  You don’t take on the World’s No. 2 (or is it No.1?) air force and expect your high flyers to reach Freedom 55 retirement age.  No, Israel’s Top Gunners can lay waste to your entire aero fleet in no time flat.  Iran doesn’t have the nukes ready for deployment, but it’s taunting Israel to do something now.  Israel, the patient lioness that she is, will wait it out until the zebra is at the waterhole and then she’ll pounce on it lightning fast.  Iran won’t know what hit it. Proverbs 16:[18] Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Birkhead named Anna Nicole Smith’s baby's dad; Stern won't fight for custody

April 11, 2007 -- Former boyfriend Larry Birkhead was declared the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby Tuesday, and Howard K. Stern, listed as Dannielynn's father on the birth certificate, said he would not fight for custody.

 

"My feelings for Dannielynn have not changed," said Stern, who was Smith's lawyer and live-in companion.

 

"I am not going to fight Larry Birkhead on custody. We're going to do what we can to make sure that the best interests of Dannielynn are carried out. And I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure he gets sole custody," Stern said outside the Bahamian courthouse where the DNA test results were disclosed. When asked when Birkhead would get custody of the 7-month-old girl, who has been living with Stern in Nassau, Stern said he wanted there to be a "gradual transition."

 

Stern said Birkhead could come to the house any time and spend as much time as he wants with his daughter.

 

Birkhead was the first to share the paternity results with the public.

 

"Everybody, I hate to be the one to tell you this -- but I told you so," he said outside the court as he smiled and threw his hands into the air.

 

When asked what's next, he said, "I'm going to the toy store."

 

Crowds applauded in front of the courthouse as Birkhead made the announcement, and Birkhead teared up as he thanked his supporters.

 

Comments:  Philippians 3:[19] Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. 2 Thessalonians 2:[12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

 

Way back in the 1950s and even the 1960s, parents used to hide their unmarried expectant daughters from public view.  Many quit school before their appearance would give it away that they were months along their pregnancy.  Afterwards, they gave up custody of their babies.  Today, men and women are having babies out of wedlock.  That’s called fornication and is a major sin.  But mankind has long dismissed such notion of sin, sinners and having to pay for the consequences for sins.  These dudes Birkhead and Stern waited with abated breath while their DNA was tested to see if it matched the by-product of their sin (i.e. the baby Dannielynn).  The winner was Birkhead and he and his supporters couldn’t contain their joy.  He then boasted that he knew all along that he was the father.  His sperms were more virile than Stern’s.  Apparently, he happened to bed the harlot Anna Nicole Smith at the right time of the month.  Where’s the shame in all of this?  There is none.  More and more, this world is getting more wicked by the day.  The last days are characterized by: 2 Timothy 3:[13] But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Dutch government favours new look treaty for the EU

April 11, 2007 -- The Dutch government has said the renewed talks on an EU treaty should focus on the current shortcomings in the system rather than aiming to become an overarching "constitutional treaty."

 

Speaking to MEPs on Tuesday (10 April), Europe minister Frans Timmermans said his government is not prepared to present to the Dutch electorate the same document it rejected in June 2005.

 

"We will simply not put to ratification a treaty that was rejected by a large majority of the Dutch population," he stated.

 

Comments:  Blame the lack of agreement pertaining to the EU constitution on nationalism and on having too many cooks in the kitchen.  The EU constitution, as it currently is, is a large unyielding legalese document that many EU nations just can’t stomach.  It’s simply not palatable to their taste.  This idea of tampering with the objectionable ingredients rather than reject the dish outright is like a falling man grasping at straws to stop his free fall.  It’s brainstorming at its finest, a desperate attempt to come up with any solution to solve this perplexing conundrum.

 

On this side of the Rapture event, the disunity among EU countries is evident.  As a direct result, the rotating EU presidency cannot be replaced with an elected full-time, long term president to whip the 27 members into shape.  Once the Rapture has occurred and anarchy grips the capital cities of the EU, there will be an outcry for law and order.  The pettiness of battling over the EU constitution will give way to unity and a determined will to seize the window of opportunity to present the EU as the world’s No. 1 superpower.  With the U.S. decimated by the evacuation of millions of Christians from this world, the 27 tall foreheads in Brussels will butt heads and hammer out an agreement to adopt the EU constitution as it and elect their beast Antichrist leader.  Revelation 17:[13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

Ireland's Christian culture thing of past

April 11, 2007 -- One third of 15- to 24-year-olds cannot say where Jesus was born or what the Christian Church celebrates at Easter, according to an opinion poll published today.

 

The poll was commissioned by the Iona Institute, a new Catholic-led pro-marriage organisation, and the Evangelical Alliance of Ireland, a cross-denominational movement that seeks to relate the Christian gospel to modern life.

 

The 15- to 24-year-olds were also more than twice as ignorant as the pensioners when it came to naming the Holy Trinity, with 53% of the younger group failing to answer correctly.

 

But the younger group outscored the older one by 48% to 44%when it came to naming the first book of the Bible.

 

Sean Mullan of the 35,000-strong Evangelical Alliance said the data - along with answers to six other questions - show that the notion of Ireland having a Christian culture is becoming a thing of the past.

 

Comments:  1 Timothy 4:[1] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith.  Luke 18:[8] … when the Son of man cometh, shall he find (the) faith on the earth?  Much of Europe has jettisoned Christianity out of their lives and replaced it with worldliness and a worship of self.  Self indulgence is the primary motivating force of many citizens.  There’s only one life to live so live for self for today and leave God out of the equation.  The rejection of God, Jesus and the Bible is a grand indictment on Europeans who have embraced liberal humanism wholeheartedly.  Arguably, the percentage of real believers is decreasing so when the Rapture occurs, so many will be Left Behind that Europe will be much less affected than the U.S.  After the Antichrist happens onto the scene and rules for 7 years, when the Lord Jesus returns to Earth, much of Europe will have accepted the Mark of the Beast and these goat nations will assuredly reap God’s judgment.

 

The situation in Ireland these days is appalling.  Centuries of Roman Catholic control have produced people who are exhibiting religious apathy.  The Bible simply isn’t relevant to them anymore.  No one seems to bother reading it.  How can people get saved if the Word of God is hidden under the bed or gathering dust on bookshelves?  Only a revival spurred by the Holy Spirit will arrest the seemingly irreversible decline.
