Bill Clinton: Israel-Syria peace deal could be reached within 35 minutes

April 16, 2007 -- A peace agreement between Israel and Syria could be reached within 35 minutes, former U.S. president Bill Clinton told the Lebanon-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper in an interview published Sunday.

 

Clinton said Israel and Syria were very close to reaching an agreement in 1998, adding that an accord could be reached assuming Iran does not play a role in the issue.

 

The former U.S. president also said that, in his opinion, the 1995 assassination of then-prime minister Yitzhak Rabin led to the failure of the peace process.

 

"[Former Palestinian Authority chairman Yasser] Arafat really trusted Rabin, and the assassination of Rabin killed the peace process," he said.

 

Clinton told the newspaper that secret negotiations, like those conducted in Oslo that led to the 1993 Declaration of Principles between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization, are the only way through which to resolve the conflict in the Middle East.

 

Comments:  Bill Clinton has been smoking (but not inhaling it of course) something it would appear.  His reasoning is way off tangent.  How could a mere 35 minutes of secret negotiations lead to a peace deal between Syria and Israel, a rift that has been widening for 40 years now?  Don’t you think both countries have already conducted behind the scenes talks to resolve the major issue, i.e. the return of the Golan Heights to Syria?  Mr. Clinton, a most persuasive man, couldn’t even get Yasser Arafat and Israel’s then PM Ehud “I’m in a giving mood” Barak to accept Clinton’s Made in Maryland Middle East peace accord.  That round of talks took weeks (including overtime) in the tranquil setting of Camp David.  All the basketball games and fireside chats couldn’t get the hardnosed Arafat to say “Yes”.

 

Syria’s president is even more stubborn than Arafat was.  Bashar Assad wants Israel to return the Golan Heights with no preconditions.  Israel doesn’t think the Heights are that strategic like they used to be in the pre-super hi-tech days when advancing Syrian troops and tanks caught Israel by surprise.  These days, Israel’s spy network consisting of satellites and low flying radar avoidance drones can detect the slight movement of a Syrian’s soldier’s cap.

 

No, there will be no quick Middle East peace deals prior to the Rapture event, otherwise, there will be no need for the miraculous peace treaties to be brokered by the Antichrist.

Pope Benedict turns 80

April 16, 2007 -- Pope Benedict XVI marked his 80th birthday Sunday with a mass before thousands of worshippers in which he spoke of "darkness" threatening the world in the form of war, oppression and hate.

 

Comments:  Benedict is no longer a young rooster, but is long in the tooth.  He is not the Vatican’s long term plan for the pontiff position.  The Church of Rome is grooming someone much younger and a whole lot more liberal to succeed the octogenarian Benedict who has been described as a “caretaker” pope. When it’s time for the young whipper snapper to take over, Benedict will step aside either through death or be offered an early retirement package (also known as a golden handshake).

 

Quite a few Bible prophecy authors and students have surmised that the next pope will be the last one before the Millennium Reign of Christ.  This religious man could even turn out to be the False Prophet with some Jewish blood in him.  The Book of Revelation tells us that this spiritual deceiver known as the second beast will come out of the earth (Israel?) [See Revelation 13:11] whereas the first beast Antichrist will rise up out of the sea (of nations) [see Revelation 13:1].  This hellish duo will enslave the world’s citizens like never before in history.  People will be spiritually, politically, economically and socially controlled monitored and subjugated.  Pope Benedict’s days are numbered I believe.  His being 80 doesn’t bode well for a man whose schedule is more hectic than ants preparing for winter.  He doesn’t give any indication that he’s saved.  If he’s alive after the Rapture event, his church’s lies will continue on and if he hasn’t renounced the Vatican’s false dogmas, practices and gospel, Benedict will be numbered with the dammed.

Don't link terrorism and Islam, EU tells government spokesmen

April 16, 2007 -- The European Union has created a special lexicon for use by government spokesmen to avoid associating Islam with terrorism in their statements to the press.

 

"Jihad," "Islamist" and "fundamentalist" are words that are discouraged, ostensibly to avoid offending or alienating Muslims by linking them to terrorism.

 

E.U. and British officials have confirmed the existence of the directive with the special lexicon, although its contents remain classified.

 

The E.U.'s lexicon reportedly recommends that instead of using "Islamic terrorists," government spokesmen say "terrorists who abusively invoke Islam."

 

Comments:  Once again, the ever fearful Europeans are trying hard not to provoke Islam into committing more overt acts of violence in Europe.  With the Muslim population growing rapidly in many EU countries, you can excuse the Europeans for wanting to muffle the media attacks on Islam.  Don’t blame Islam for what the radical factions have done to terrorize the Western world.  Muslims are peace loving people; it’s the rotten apples that are doing all the hurting and killing.  This just shows you how uninformed many EU politicians are.  It’s either that or they’re terribly petrified of being targeted themselves.  Islam’s aim is world domination by the sword.  Just read the Koran. It’s either convert willingly to Islam or die by the blade of the sword.  There’s no middle position.

 

The Books of Daniel and Revelation describe the cruelty and ferocity of the coming Antichrist (AC).  When you compare his preferred method of execution (by beheading; see Revelation 20:4) with Islam, you get the feeling that the AC could very well turn out to be a Muslim or a European with Arab ancestry.  The post-Rapture world could be flying the Muslims colors and bowing to the AC, the prophet Mohammed and their god Allah.  These days, everyone is afraid of radical Islam.  No one wants to lose their head and who can blame them?

The disposable worker: Why capitalism needs Christianity

April 16, 2007 -- Last week, electronics retailer Circuit City announced that it was laying off 3400 employees.

 

What made these particular layoffs noteworthy was not their size but, instead, Circuit City's stated reasons. They had "nothing to do with skills or whether they were a good worker or not." Instead, "it was a function of their salary relative to the market."

 

In other words, Circuit City was laying them off so it could replace them with people who make less. Rotten!

 

To be fair, Circuit City is not alone in this practice. It is part of a "new way of controlling labor costs in the service industry." Employers "determine the prevailing market wages for particular jobs in various geographic regions" and "then find ways to make sure that their workers' salaries stay within that range."

 

There is no consideration of an employee's productivity or quality of work. Nor is there any claim that the company can't afford to pay what the workers are currently making-only that it doesn't have to. It is hard to imagine a clearer example of how rapacious unrestrained economic power can be. With all due respect to the late Milton Friedman, corporations' social responsibility goes beyond maximizing shareholders' returns.

 

But even if you do not think that unapologetically getting rid of workers so that they can hire cheaper workers is degrading and dehumanizing, it goes against your self-interest. That is because it undermines the moral and cultural consensus that sustains free-market capitalism. Michael Novak has written about what he calls the "three-legged stool" that makes democratic capitalism possible: economic freedom, political freedom, and moral restraint. Take away any of these three and the system collapses.

 

Christianity's great contribution to this consensus was that it provided capitalism with a moral dimension that capitalism could not provide for itself. Its teachings about the necessity for moral restraint in the marketplace were rooted in the Old Testament concerns for social justice, fair wages, and care for the poor. It incorporated the consistent biblical teaching about human dignity, including the dignity of honest labor. Thus, when poet William Blake wrote about nineteenth-century England's "dark satanic mills," his criticism invoked unmistakably biblical language and imagery.

 

Comments:  Today’s business reality is that multinational corporations are taking their jobs overseas or across the border where wages are a pittance and workers don’t mind slaving over a pauper’s pay.  Workers are treated as machines.  The standard of living for Western nations is dipping like the sun at sunset.  There’s a levelling of incomes as globalization runs its cruel course.  Whereas Henry Ford of old paid his workers decent wages so they could afford to buy his expensive one color (black) automobiles, today’s CEOs and shareholders only care about their insanely high salaries, stock options and large quarterly dividends.  Paying workers high salaries is “out”.  Abusing, bullying, intimidating and harassing workers into quitting and replacing them with lower paying young recruits are “in”.  American companies eye Mexico like a hungry dog eyes a sirloin steak in a butcher shop.  Mexican sweat shops churn out inexpensive goods that are slapped with high overheads in order to fatten the thick wallets of capitalists.

 

Christians love and follow their Lord Jesus who taught them to exhibit love, compassion and care for their fellow man.  Exploitation by Christian masters over their workers is a rarity.  Yes, it would be a welcomed change for this world’s bosses to treat their workers like human beings and pay them fairly.  Jesus said “the labourer is worthy of his hire” (Luke 10:7).  Don’t expect owners and bosses to be benevolent. Instead, expect to see the labour situation getting worse and worse.  The Antichrist will make sure the vast majority of citizens will be earning  a small percentage of what they used to make.  Dictators don’t make the ordinary Joes and Janes rich.

Violence against parents an 'alarming trend'

April 16, 2007 -- Many times the victims are bruised in a fight or shoved down stairs. Others are stabbed with scissors. Last November, one was beaten to death with a hammer.

 

And the suspects, in more than 1,800 cases documented in Harris County over a recent 2½-year period, were their children.

 

One long-time prosecutor in the juvenile courts said he was "floored by the numbers" after a survey found 1,831 young people had been charged with assaulting a parent or guardian. Another called it an "alarming, alarming trend."

 

Comments:  Genesis 6:[13] And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.  Romans 1:[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents.

 

Gross disrespect for one’s parents is prevalent these days.  You read on the Internet and see on TV parents and grandparents being bashed, killed and amputated by their children/grandchildren.  Recently, a young woman murdered and stuffed her dead mother in the car’s trunk, tried to get rid of the corpse but failed and drove the car for days before her decomposing body was discovered.  Another man bludgeoned his father to death over an argument about a case of beer.

 

Sure, children killed their parents way back when, but it seems the tide of killings is rising like unabated flood water these days.  With the number of TV shows that depict violent deaths, children are getting their ideas from these shows.  Their disdain for parental authority knows no bounds.  Rebels with a cause mean certain trouble ahead.  MTV videos and hell raisers such as Avril Lavigne are calling for the overthrow of constraints.  Anything or anyone who gets in your way of living your life your own way must be gotten rid of.  If that means premeditated murder, so be it.  The spirit of antichrist pervades this violence drenched world.  Satan is the instigator of violence and anarchy. Satan’s followers are doing his bidding.  Parents, watch your back!
