U.S. evangelicals reaffirm stand on global warming

March 14, 2007 --The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) has reiterated that it considers environmental protection as a moral issue, dismissing a recent denouncement of the association by several leading conservative Christian leaders for calling for attention on global warming.

 

Recently, Christian radio commentator James Dobson and several conservative leaders like Gary Bauer, Tony Perkins and Paul Weyrich had sent a letter to the association, criticizing the association's vice president Rev Richard Cizik, for his call on tackling global warming.

 

The board of directors of the association has now reaffirmed a 2004 position paper it had adopted, which had outlined seven areas of civic responsibility for evangelicals -- creation care (meaning environmental protection), religious freedom, nurturing the family, sanctity of life, compassion for the poor, human rights and restraining violence.

 

Comments:  You can just see the wide grin on Al Gore’s face as he reads this article.  No friend of Christians, Mr. Gore will take great delight in seeing that the NAE has jumped on his tree hugging agenda to save Mother Earth from extinction due to the great polluters (you, I and every humanoid) of this world.  Yes, because God had created this world, every person ought to look after it because we’re stewards of God.  The sins of Adam and Eve and all their descendants caused Earth to become vile and polluted, but it will be Jesus (and not mankind) who will restore Earth to its once pristine condition when He established His millennial kingdom.  Until that time, Earth will be like a swaggering drunken sailor who has been battered, shaken and pounded by man’s actions and God’s judgments during the Tribulation Period.  It’s a wasted effort for Christians to devote the time and effort to clean up this planet in view of what is to befall this world shortly.  It’s best to serve God by proclaiming the Gospel of God in the remaining time we have left prior to the Rapture event.

 

So much of Christendom doesn’t believe in the Rapture that it has settled down comfortably in this world.  Believing that Jesus won’t be returning to Earth until this planet has been Christianized, professing Christians have adopted the Kingdom Now/Dominion Theology/Reconstructionist false teachings which promote the social gospel (which is a diversion of the Devil) which endeavors to create a Paradise on Earth for our children’s and grandchildren’s generations.  Yes, worldwide pollution cannot be tolerated.  The cleanup in earnest must begin now; there’s no time to waste and unfortunately, Christians have bought into the program of bringing in the kingdom for Christ.

U.S. couples seek separate bedrooms

March 14, 2007 -- More and more couples in the U.S. are ordering separate master bedrooms in their new homes to help ensure a more harmonious marriage, research suggests.

 

A survey by the National Association of Home Builders has predicted that by 2015, 60% of custom-built homes will have two master bedroom suites.

 

The quest for better rest is behind the trend as experts say the lack of decent sleep can cause marital tension.

 

The option of having separate rooms has often improved marriages, they say.

 

Comments:  Absence makes the heart grow fonder?  Less is more?  You get tired of seeing the same old face each day? You read of long distance marriages where the couple lived in different cities and only hooked up twice a month.  Why even get married?  I always thought if you’re madly in love with your wife, you would want to spend every waking (and sleeping) moment with her.  But, society has drummed it into married people’s head that one ought to have separate bedrooms for the marriage to retain the spark that once existed on the honeymoon.  Snoring is the culprit, they say.  People don’t get enough shut-eye and as a result, married couples get cranky and marital spats are a result.  These are just excuses and rationalizations to propagate the Devil’s onslaught on the institution of marriage.

 

I once read that married people expect to have at least one extra-marital affair.  Some even felt cheated because they never had a fling on the side in order to “spice” up a moribund marriage.  Having separate bedrooms might lead to marital infidelity.  “Out of sight, out of mind”, they say.  Marriages are under relentless attack these days and there’s no letting up.

Germans planning to reverse the decision that let Hitler run for power

March 14, 2007 -- Adolf Hitler should be stripped of German citizenship, according to MPs from the state that awarded it to him 75 years ago, aiding his rise to power.

 

The MPs hope such a move will bring redemption for the city of Braunschweig which, they claim, has been wrongly blamed for appointing Hitler as a civil servant on February 26, 1932. The appointment made Hitler, who was born in Austria, a German national, meaning he could run in the presidential election a few weeks later.

 

The city “keeps getting labelled as the place that helped Hitler get his German citizenship”, said Isolde Saalmann, a local MP. “But the city was Social Democrat at the time.” It was the state of Braunschweig, which was a Nazi stronghold and which was replaced by Lower Saxony after the war, that had turned Hitler into a German, she said. “That should be clarified. This is in no way intended as a way to belittle history by saying ‘see, he wasn’t a German’,” said Ms Saalmann. “That would never be my intention as a Social Democrat.”

 

Comments:  Stripping Hitler of German citizenship? A little too late for that.  Six million Jews and many more millions of Gentiles were slaughtered by Hitler’s Nazi henchmen, all because an Austrian (some said Hitler had a Jewish mother) madman received German citizenship.  In reality, the blame rests with all those who turned their backs on the Jews and allowed Hitler to generate anti-Semite sentiments that reached fever pitch.  All of Europe and America and including Pope Pius XII are to blame for letting Hitler do as he pleased.  In fact, mankind produced one of history’s most notorious genocide perpetrators.  We’re all guilty, one way or another.

 

Looking to the future, the Bible tells us that a mass murderer even more evil and dastardly than Hitler will rise up on the world’s scene.  He will be none other than the Antichrist (AC).  Even now, the spirit of antichrist pervades this world like a blanket of low lying fog on a cool morning.  Like Hitler, we’ve created the AC (who I believe is alive at this present moment) to mirror the desperately evil and wicked heart that’s within each of us.  We’ve all had our share in nailing Jesus on the cross through our sins.  Thanks be to God that He judged His Son for our sins and there’s no more condemnation for those who believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord.  On the flip side of the coin, the AC will be a manifestation of all the sins of Christ rejecters.

Islam is taking a grip on Europe

March 14, 2007 -- Islam is slowly but surely taking a grip on the European culture, warns the German journalist and university lecturer Udo Ulfkotte. Traditional values, customs and judicial standards are gradually customized to meet Muslim requirements.

 

As Ulfkotte explained at a meeting of Christian Democrats in Wetzlar, March 8, more and more institutions are making allowances for Muslims. Many banks, he said, are abandoning the so-called piggy banks, because they are afraid of losing Muslim customers. Muslims regard the pig as an unclean animal.

 

German butchers who sell pork are targeted by Muslim extremists, according to Ulfkotte. Muslims occasionally spit on sausages on sale at open-air markets.

 

Comments:  In this Chinese Year of the pig, don’t invite your Chinese and Muslim friends for a backyard pig roast.  You may find your Muslim friends go hog wild with rage.  Such is the cultural differences between races and religions. Thanks to God’s intervening in the construction of the Tower of Babel, people were scattered throughout the world and adopted different cultures which have led to wars between neighbors.  Yes, wars resulted mainly from land grabs and envying one’s neighbor’s natural resources, but ethnic hatred is as much to blame as anything.

 

It’s a marvel that much of Europe has bent over backwards to accommodate Islam.  For centuries, Spain had fought to keep the Moors from crossing the Strait of Gibraltar and settling in southern Spain.  That eventually failed and Spain has Moorish influences everywhere you go.  Muslims have been allowed to immigrate to Germany, France, Britain, etc., and they’re demanding human rights that other Europeans enjoy.  In order to ward off unrest and violence, EU politicians decided to accommodate Muslims in almost every aspect of European society.  The Muslim population is growing faster than the European norm so that in time, Islam’s grip on the EU nations will be vice-like.  The end result might be the Islamic takeover of the entire EU.  The revived Roman Empire (consisting of the EU and the North African and Mediterranean countries) will be Islamic.  Will the Antichrist be a Muslim?  That seems like a good possibility.

Iranians lash out at hit movie 300; some want ban

March 14, 2007 -- While deaf to protests over its conference last year denying the Holocaust, Iran is apparently incensed when it feels Persian history has been distorted.

 

Against the backdrop of the Islamic republic's continuing standoff with the West over its nuclear program, senior Iranian officials and Internet bloggers in the country have lashed out at the weekend box-office hit 300, claiming it insults Iran's Persian heritage.

 

The outcry even includes calls for other Muslim countries to ban the film -- raising the spectre of protests throughout the Muslim world similar to those in 2006, when a Danish newspaper published cartoons depicting the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

 

Based on the 1998 graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 has just opened in North America, but bootleg DVDs are already available in Iran.

 

Using special effects, it depicts the 480 BC battle of Thermopylae, in which 300 warriors of the Greek city-state of Sparta led the resistance against a massive Persian invasion force.

 

The film depicts the Persian army as both ruthless and repeatedly outsmarted by the Greeks. Even some U.S. reviewers have said it leaves an impression of Persian decadence in contrast to Greek courage.   

One senior Iranian official charged the movie is part of a U.S.-led conspiracy aimed at vilifying Iran since the 1979 revolution that saw Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini replace Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the country's pro-western shah, as leader.

 

"American cultural officials thought they could get mental satisfaction by plundering Iran's historic past and insulting this civilization," said Javad Shamqadri, a cultural adviser to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

 

"Following the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Hollywood and cultural authorities in the U.S. initiated studies to figure out how to attack Iranian culture. Certainly, the recent movie is a product of such studies."

 

Government spokesman Gholamhossein Elham declared the movie amounted to U.S. provocation.

 

Comments:  The Western world certainly has not learned its painful lesson from the Danish cartoons brouhaha.  It continues its unabated bashing of the Persian Empire aka Iran which is arguably the leader of radical Islam.  The Iranian president must be rubbing his hands with glee knowing that he now has more ammunition in his verbal arsenal to lambaste America for provoking Iran.  Will there be an increase in anti-American sentiments?  Iran hates America with a passion and has vowed to destroy the Great Satan and its child, the Little Satan Israel. This movie 300 just might be the final straw that breaks the proud Persians’ back.

 

The Spring of 2007 appears more and more to be the time period in which the U.S. and Israel will jointly amass an air assault on suspected Iranian underground nuclear installations.  Iran is well prepared.  In fact, Iran has accelerated its re‑arming of Hezbollah inside southern Lebanon to push against the Israeli military in the event of a U.S.-Israeli bombardment of Iran.  Every major player has readied himself for war.  Like the showdown at OK Corral, it’s inching toward high noon as the gunslingers pat their holsters and flex their fingers for the trigger.  The first to the draw is usually the last man standing.
