Present-day Sanhedrin court seeks to revive ancient Temple rituals

The present-day Sanhedrin Court
decided Tuesday to purchase a herd of sheep for ritual sacrifice at the site of
the Temple on the eve of Passover, conditions on the Temple Mount permitting.
The modern Sanhedrin was established several years ago and is
headed by Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz. It claims to be renewing the ancient Jewish
high court, which existed until roughly 1600 years ago, and meets once a week.
Professor Hillel Weiss, a member of the Sanhedrin, told
Haaretz on Tuesday that the action, even if merely symbolic, is designed to
demonstrate in a way that is obvious to all that the expectation of Temple
rituals will resume is real, and not just talk.
Several years ago, a number of
members of the various Temple movements performed a symbolic sacrifice on Givat
Hananya, which overlooks the Temple Mount from Jerusalem's Abu Tur neighborhood.
During the ceremony, participants sacrificed a young goat that was donated by a
resident of Tekoa. The participants also built a special two-meter tall oven, in
accordance with halakha (Jewish law).
Comments: We know that prior to the Mid-point of the seven year Tribulation; the Jews will rebuild the Third Temple and revive their ancient Temple rituals and sacrifices just as they did thousands of years ago. The present day Sanhedrin were only recently established (again) after 2000 years and some believe will have a significant roll in Israel during the last seven years.The Great Sanhedrin is an assembly of 71 of the greatest Jewish judges who constituted the supreme court and legislative body of ancient Israel. The Sanhedrin is mentioned frequently in the Gospels as Chief Priests.
Because the present day Sanhedrin (court) seek to revive ancient Temple rituals, this will be seen as another sign that the rebuilding of the Third Temple may not be far off. This article (coming from Haaretz) will be viewed by many Israelis and due to the recent contrversial dig near Al Aqsa, the momentum for a Jewish presense on the mount is gaining public interest. Keep an eye on this one.

La Nina Brewing Up Hurricanes, Forecasters Warn

28 February 2007 – Forecasters warned Tuesday that a LaNina weather pattern - the nasty flip side of El Nino - is brewing, bringing with it the threat of more hurricanes for the Atlantic.
Officials at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced the official end of a brief and mild El Nino that started last year. That El Nino was credited with partially shutting down last summer's Atlantic hurricane activity in the midst of what was supposed to be a busy season.
"We're seeing a shift to the LaNina, it's clearly in the data," NOAA Administrator Conrad Lautenbacher said. LaNina, a cooling of the mid-Pacific equatorial region, has not officially begun because it's a process with several months with specific temperature thresholds, but the trend is obvious based on satellite and ocean measurement data, he said.
"It certainly won't be welcome news for those living off the coast right now," Lautenbacher said. But he said that doesn't mean Atlantic seaboard residents should sell their homes.
Forecasters don't know how strong this LaNina will be. However, it typically means more hurricanes in the Atlantic, fewer in the Pacific, less rain and more heat for the already drought-stricken South, and a milder spring and summer in the north, Lautenbacher said. The central plains of the United States tend be drier in the fall during LaNinas, while the Pacific Northwest tends to be wetter in the late fall and early winter.
Comments: More hurricanes in the Atlantic are not good news for the Southern States. Last year was (for the most part) a quiet season for hurricanes compared to 2005. According to this article El Nino last year was the reason for shutting down last years hurricane activity. I’m sure that weather forecasters will be keeping an eye on this new weather pattern and there will be more updates as we get closer to the summer months. With an extra warm summer (in the forecast) and now a La Nina brewing this is looking to be an active year.

New edition of the Bible says evolution is true

February 28, 2007 -- If you believe that we evolved from apes, that Genesis is great poetry, and that the Universe is billions of years old, can you still enjoy reading the Bible?
Bronx school teacher and book artist Ruth Rimm thinks she has an answer. Her latest book series, the "Lost Spiritual World," is a lavishly illustrated, "postmodern" edition of the Bible for skeptics, seekers, and people of different faiths.
"There may be a profound message behind the miracle stories, but the big bang and evolution implore us not to read things literally," Rimm says. "Most Americans would rather discover the spiritual truths behind the religious metaphors, especially given how fundamentalism is impacting public life with a narrow view of religion."
Comments: Ms. Ruth Rimm is certainly touting Tim Horton’s current promotion, “Roll Up the Rim to Win.” She aims to win the souls of humanity to her way of thinking. Imagine a belief in evolution being compatible with God’s creational truth? That’s like mixing oil and water. No matter how you stir the two, you cannot get them to bond together. Evolution is the Devil’s doing and propagated by the late Charles Darwin. Darwin’s gross error was promoting the unproven theory that intelligent mankind descended from dumb apes rather than created by a wise God.
The real Bible debunks the evolution nonsense right in the very first verse of the very first chapter. Genesis 1:[1] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Take that verse literally, my reader friend, for your soul’s sake. Ms. Rimm’s "Lost Spiritual World” shows her own spiritual state as being lost, without God, and without everlasting life. It’s very obvious that like Eve, she’s been beguiled by the wily serpent. Her end will be the Lake of Fire. Let the people of other faiths fall into Satan’s trap, but true Christians ought to avoid the "Lost Spiritual World" series like they would with the Harry Potter series.

Catholic Church launches new advertising campaign to lure people back

February 28, 2007 -- "You can always come home." That is the message the Fort Wayne-South Bend diocese is trying to get out.
The Catholic Church has four, 30 second television commercials asking Catholics who have fallen away from the church to come back.
Comments: Home restoration guru Bob Villa used to say at the beginning of his show, “It’s good to back Home Again.” Well, the Catholic Church in the U.S. would love to see all their former members partaking in the Mass and fattening the coffers of the church. So many have left that it was beginning to mirror the exodus of members in the mainline Protestant denominations.
Being that we’re living in the end times, Satan’s urgent task is assembling all his lost minions together in ecumenical unity as a prelude to the formation of the One World Church headed by the Vatican. “Come back, come back, wherever you are! We Catholics have an exciting spiritual program to offer all. Look at the Emergent Church movement and its contemplative prayers, incense, beads and rosaries and labyrinths. They’ll emulating us. We’re the Real McCoys! Look at the Lutheran Evangelical Church (USA) and their desire to return to its roots. All around you, Protestants are coming back to the Mother Church so why not you who were baptized as a child in Catholic Churches. Even Billy Graham reveres our church, so there!” The Vatican’s town criers bellow out to their own and tragically, many will flock back to the wolves in sheep clothing. Matthew 7:[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Comments: Doesn’t the thought of the impending construction of the next Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount send chills down your entire spine? Just think of it: The Temple Mount Faithful Movement has for decades lobbied the Israeli Government for permission to rebuild. Now, we’re seeing the preparatory stages being set for animal sacrifices and ancient rituals. Many religious Jews can sense in their bones the coming of their long awaited Messiah (of course, for us Christians, Jesus had already come to Earth some 2,000 years ago). To say they have been patient would be a gross understatement. Patience does have its reward. God will indeed permit His people to rebuild the Temple just as Daniel 9:27 alludes to. Daniel 9:[27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. 2 Thessalonians 2:[4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
The sad part is that the future Antichrist will put a stop to the restored animal sacrificial ritual, enter the rebuilt Temple and desolate it, and then sit on the throne as God. How utter blasphemy! It will be at that time juncture in time that the Antichrist will unleash his pent up fury against the Jews by persecuting and killing 2/3 of them. The very thing these Jews have prayed to God for will be for a season only. Many overlook the more important aspect of receiving Jesus Christ as their Messiah now and be raptured to Heaven along with us Christians. But, God will be merciful to His own people during the last 3.5 years of the Tribulation Period known as the time of Jacob’s trouble when He will bring his remnant through the purging fire unto His Son Jesus. Thereafter, they will enter Christ’s Messianic Kingdom for 1,000 years.
