'Devastating response' if Iran nukes attacked

26 February 2007 – Iran is anticipating a U.S. or Israeli military strike on its nuclear facilities and has been providing Palestinian terrorists and other regional allies with contingency plans for attacks against the Jewish state and American regional interests in the event of war, according to Palestinian terrorist leaders.
A senior leader of the Islamic Jihad terror group, which Israel says is backed by Iran, told WND Tehran is expecting to be attacked, but he didn't provide a time frame in which Iran anticipates a strike.
He claimed during any attack his organization has been directed by Iran to "wreak havoc" on Israel with suicide bombings, rocket attacks and "special surprises." He said rocket attacks would be launched from both the Gaza Strip and from the West Bank, which borders Jerusalem.
He threatened his terror group will target American interests in the Middle East whether any purported strike against Tehran is carried out by Israel or the U.S.
"The Zionists and the Americans are coordinated 100 percent. It doesn't matter who attacks Iran, we are planning to hit them both," said the Islamic Jihad leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he said the topic was "very sensitive."

resides in Damascus and travels frequently to Tehran.
Comments: Update; as I covered yesterday, Iran will not sit idly by and watch their nuclear and military installations burn to the ground. No matter where you look in the news, there are warning signs of a major regional war on the horizon. The U.S. and Israel are preparing for what looks like a joint strike on Iran… while Iran, Syria, Hezbollah and the Palestinnians are preparing to fight back. Israel will not take any chances following the war in Lebanon and will be prepared for any eventuality. Not since the Yom Kippur war has Israel faced such a threat as they are facing now. The consequences of not acting against these terrorists could be devastating in the long run and waiting may not be an option that Israel can afford to take.
Purim is only a week away and it is a celebration of the defeat of the Persian King Haman. This year the Jews will have their eye on Iran/Persia as the Iranian leader also seeks to destroy the Jews. The wheel of history is turning once again.

Dollar falls against yen, euro in Asia

26 February 2007 – The dollar dipped against the euro in Asia Monday to its lowest level in almost two months, and it also fell against the yen as market sentiments turned sour toward the dollar.
The euro temporarily hit US$1.3199, its strongest since US$1.3291 Jan. 3, mainly on speculative trading. The euro was trading at US$1.3180 midafternoon, up from US$1.3162. The dollar also fell against the yen to 120.98 yen from 121.04 yen late Friday in New York.
Weighing on the dollar were renewed concerns about tensions over Iran's nuclear program, expectations for a sharp downward revision in fourth-quarter U.S. economic growth and falling long-term U.S. interest rates, said Hideaki Inoue, chief foreign-exchange manager at Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking.
"Psychologically, those who have tilted their positions want to close off their positions," he said.
Traders said the dollar's fall against the yen came from a repatriation of overseas investments by Japanese investors preparing to close their books at the end of the fiscal year in March. Selling by Japanese exporters also drove down the dollar.
Comments: Update; With Oil and Gold prices heading higher, the dollar is showing signs of weakness. As I covered yesterday one of the main concerns right now is tensions with Iran. I’m not an expert in this matter but it is not hard to see that when Gold goes higher the U.S. dollar goes the opposite way. Gold continues to move higher and pretty soon it will pass the $700 mark and from there it is anyone’s guess where it will climb too. On the other hand, a war could knock the stuffing out of the U.S. dollar but we will have to wait and see what transpires there. Because the markets are so volatile right now, it is a good idea to keep an eye on them. They can speak volumes.

Jordan's King Abdullah to address U.S. Congress re: Middle East peace

February 26, 2007 -- Jordan’s King Abdullah II is to address a joint session of the United States Congress next week, in a last ditch effort to jump start the Mideast peace plan before the end of US President George W Bush’s tenure in 2008, officials said Saturday.
In his ‘historic’ speech - the first by a foreign leader before the bicameral legislature since mid-term elections last fall - Abdullah II will concentrate on the Palestinian cause as the core crisis in the region, said one of the sources.
‘It will be a collective Arab message to spur influential power circles across the US into listening the voice of the other party,’ the source said.
In July 1994, his late father King Hussein delivered a similar speech alongside the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin - nine months after the two leaders initialed the ‘Washington Declaration’ which paved the way for the 1994 Jordan-Israeli peace treaty.
Before the US tour, the King will hold ‘coordination’ talks in Egypt and Saudi Arabia - two pillars of the so-called ‘moderate Arab quartet’ in addition to Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
En route to the US, the Jordanian leader will stop in London for talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Bush’s staunchest ally abroad - who is deeply involved in efforts to settle the Palestinian crisis.
Abdullah ii - a frequent visitor of Washington on yearly basis since he ascended the throne in 1999 - is also scheduled to launch a diplomatic and media offensive on the need to wrest a six-month window of opportunity in the Middle East crisis.
Comments: Some Bible prophecy students have speculated that Jordan’s King Abdullah could turn out to be the Antichrist, the world most crazed dictator and mass murderer. In this news article, Abdullah is making a final pitch for Middle East peace before President Bush rides off into the sunset on January 20, 2009, i.e. back to his ranch in Texas. That’s a mere two years away to solve the 59‑year old Middle East conundrum.
Why does the King care so much about the Israeli-Palestinian squabble anyway? It’s because the increasingly frustrated Palestinian refuges within Jordan are just about fed up with the status quo situation and are about to raise an insurrection against the Kingdom and that’s troubling. The Palestinians have demanded a sovereign state within Israel proper with East Jerusalem as their capital city. Nothing short of that accomplish will appease the Palestinian people. The King has control of the Temple Mount site and he’s influential with the Jewish government, thus he wields the necessary authority to mediate Middle East peace. He can’t expect Britain’s Tony Blair and U.S. President Bush to perform the yeoman work needed to forge peace. The King just has to exercise his vested authority. He does, however, require a mighty military to enforce the peace. This is where the U.S. or the EU military comes into play. Authority means nothing unless you can back it up with force. I know, I know. We’ve all heard in the past about the King’s dire warnings about the window of opportunity fast closing. He’s becoming like Peter who cried too many times about the wolf, but maybe this time around, that window scare might just do the job. We know that in reality, it will be the Rapture event that will be the catalyst that will transform the peace talks into concrete action leading to the Daniel 9:27 false peace.

Osama bin Laden wants England’s Prince Harry dead (preferably) or alive

Comments: The professional bounty hunters just got a job offer that could pay them millions of dollars. The prey is none other than Prince Charles’ youngest son, the red hair freckle face boyish looking 22 year old. Osama prefers him dead rather than alive so he can hang the deceased prince from the highest tree in Pakistan or Afghanistan (wherever he’s holed up) for the entire world to see. This would be payback for Britain’s involvement in President Bush’s war against terrorism. The whole world would be mortified seeing the young lad waving in the wind just like a roasted Peking duck dangling from a skewer in a Chinese deli counter. Britain would immediately shelve its plan to withdraw its troops from Iraq and declare total war against bin Laden. There will be no rest until bin Laden is apprehended and brought justice not only for the killing of Harry, but also for the over 3,500 Americans who perished in the 9/11 attacks on the U.S.
Political assassinations are nothing new to the Royal Family. Queen Elizabeth’s own uncle, Lord Mountbatten, was killed on his boat by a bomb blast. Somehow, the death of Harry would be more tragic since he’s so young and is a darling among many admiring people in this world. Of course, Harry chose to expose his life to danger by insisting that he will fight alongside his fellow countrymen and women to flush out the terrorists in Iraq. Yes, he will be guarded by Britain’s best troops, but that won’t guarantee that a suicide bomber might not be able to get through the security web and take out Harry and others. The war against terrorism recognizes no distinction between royalty and commoners. It’s Islam against the rest of the world and Harry is a special target because he represents British imperialism’s poster boy.

February 26, 2007 -- In January I read a news story that grabbed my attention as to the lateness of the hour we're living in as it relates to the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Its title? Israel May 'Stand Alone' in Years to Come, Professor Says
The following is an excerpt from that article (emphasis added mine):
Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz mentioned several events as reasons to be concerned. They could create "the conditions for a perfect storm," he said, with Israel at the center.
The first event is the recent publication of former President Jimmy Carter's book on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Dershowitz, addressing a recent national security conference in Herzliya, Israel, called Carter's book a "watershed event" in U.S.-Israeli and U.S.-Jewish relations.
Carter's book asserts the "old canard" that Jews control the media and because they do, it prevents fair coverage of the Palestinians' plight, said Dershowitz, who addressed the gathering by satellite.
Carter's book also promotes the idea that Jewish control of American politics makes it "suicidal" for any American politician to present a "balanced view" of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Carter gave legitimacy to arguments that undermine Israel, Dershowitz said. Until now, such arguments have only been heard from the extreme right and left, he added.
The professor also mentioned college campuses where "junk academics" have created a debate on the proper role of "Jewish influence" on American foreign policy. This is instilling questions about Israel's right to exist in the next generation, he said. Psalm 83:4: They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
Comments: I will go on record to say that I have no affinity for Alan Dershowitz because this smooth talking lawyer defended President Bill Clinton to the hilt during the U.S. House of Representatives’ impeachment proceedings against the President for the Monica Lewinsky affair and other happenings. Alan Dershowitz is a staunch Democrat and he is as a liberal as they come. It does surprise me that he’s not too enamored with President Carter’s recent statements about the Israeli-Palestinian situation because Carter is a liberal humanist just like Alan Dershowitz is. Even Democrats have their public spats and disagreements. The difference here is that Alan Dershowitz is defending his own Jewish people against the pro-Arab Carter. That’s very commendable. I know of many Jewish Americans and Canadians who have betrayed and sold Israel down the river for profit not caring whether Israel will be annihilated.
If you think this world is predominately against Israel, you haven’t seen anything yet. The international community is applying the corkscrew on Israel right now to make peace with her Arab enemies. The cry for a Middle East peace accord can be heard in the rafters of the cavernous U.N. General Assembly auditorium. Israel has resigned herself to the inevitable that she will have to give in sooner or later to the Palestinians and Syrians. The status quo cannot be permitted to continue. Once the “false” peace is formulated and seven years have elapsed, the Muslims, Russians, the Antichrist’s military and pretty well the entire world will turn on Israel in the Battle of Armageddon just prior to Christ’s return to Earth. Revelation 16:[16] And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. Zechariah 12:[2] Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. [3] And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
