King Abdullah invites Pope Benedict to visit Jordan

February 12, 2007 -- His Majesty King Abdullah II has extended an invitation to His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI of the Vatican to visit Jordan.

 

During her meeting with the Pope, Queen Rania affirmed King Abdullah’s appreciation to the Pope’s efforts to strengthen cooperation and understanding amongst followers of various religions and promote values of loveliness and peace around the world.

 

She also asserted Jordan’s keenness to further cement cooperation with the Vatican to move forward in supporting efforts geared to realize just, lasting and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

 

On his part, the Pope valued King Abdullah’s unceasing efforts to relaunch peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis and promote peace and stability in the region.

 

Comments:  There’s a growing movement among Bible prophecy authors and students that the Antichrist (AC) will be a Muslim and on top of the list of possible candidates is Jordan’s King Abdullah.  Look at his credentials:  He’s young (45), handsome, military trained, has a fierce countenance (I couldn’t possibly out stare this dude), his Hashemite Kingdom holds the keys to the Temple Mount, he already has a peace agreement with Israel, he’s admired by moderate Arabs and Jews alike, he espouses peace, he has offered to mediate peace between Israel and the Arabs/Muslims, he speaks fluent English, and his wife is a Westerner.  The Americans and the Europeans think he’s the best thing since homemade apple pie.  Note that the AC will come from an area that was formerly part of the Old Roman Empire and Jordan fits that bill.  Insignificant Jordan is a “little horn” type country.

 

What he needs from Roman Catholic Pope Benedict is the Pope’s agreement to share Jerusalem with the Muslims and Jews.  Being that he speaks for the Muslims and Israel is receptive to offer the Palestinians East Jerusalem, if the Pope is on board to give his thumb up to make Jerusalem an international city for all faiths and religions, then it’s a “GO”.  The Final Status talks pertaining to Jerusalem will have been greatly accelerated.  King Abdullah would be the Antichrist and Pope Benedict would be his right hand man, the False Prophet.  All we need is the Rapture to occur and whammo, the action will be fast and furious.  A lightning quick peace in the Middle East will finally dawn in that region.

 

Personally, I don’t trust the King and the Pope.  There’s something devious about Abdullah and Benedict’s countenance makes Freddy Krueger look tame by comparison.  The King’s father participated in past wars to drive the Jews out of the Holy Land and the Pope’s German homeland is self-explanatory.  Together, they could turn into Abdullah the Butcher (no, not the retired Muslim wrestler) and Benedict Arnold II in their betrayal and slaughter of both Jews and Christians during the upcoming 7-year Tribulation Period.

Baptist leader pleads for unity

February 12, 2007 -- A leader in Southern Baptist evangelism says he's "heartbroken" over feuding within the denomination over theology and worship styles and says it's distracting from the critical work of religious outreach.

 

Bill Curtis, chairman of trustees for the North American Mission Board, said the disagreements are intensifying as baptisms in Southern Baptist churches are at their lowest level in 12 years and 73 percent of member churches are either not growing or declining.  "The ultimate result of this behavior will not be greater denominational purity - it will be missed evangelistic opportunity."

 

Comments:  The Baptist denomination used to be prefer a low profile, stayed the course, were straight as an arrow when it came to taking God’s Word literally, and faithfully preached the Gospel of God to the unsaved.  If you joined a Baptist church, you were pretty assured that you would be fed from the Bible and the Holy Spirit was allowed to lead the flock to a growing knowledge of the Lord Jesus.  In other words, there would be no surprises and blessings were showered upon the faithful believers.

 

Now a day, like some other Protestant denominations albeit of the liberal mainline genre, Baptists are succumbing to infighting about procedures and the such.  The main mission of reaching out to the lost is shunted aside because of the time, effort and energy expended to quell the family feuds.  They have allowed the Devil to distract them from doing the Lord’s work.  As a result, long time churchgoers are leaving in droves, some to seeker sensitive and emergent churches, while others are opening up home churches.

 

The Devil attacks the once fundamental churches because he’s sly and because he loves divisiveness.  If we believers don’t have our eyes fixated on Jesus, we too will be drawn into squabbling with our own fellow Christians.  Pride raises its ugly head as congregants choose sides and positions and if it divides the church, than so be it is the spirit of the day.  This grieves the Holy Spirit and achieves what the Devil had set out to accomplish.  As we get closer to the Lord’s return, expect more and more of this kind of internal disputes.  Protestant Christian unity within the same denomination is being shattered amidst the growing ecumenism movement and the uniting of all faiths and religions being orchestrated by the Roman Catholic Church.  How clever the Devil is to have it all going his way during these last days we’re living in.

'Islam Political Correctness’ rankles Homeland Security employees

February 12, 2007 -- Citing recent internal memos, Department of Homeland Security employees complain their boss Michael Chertoff is hamstringing counter-terror operations with pro-Islamic political correctness.

They say headquarters has cautioned officials not to describe Islamic terrorism as Islamic and to respect Islam as a "religion of peace."

 

"It's constantly drilled into us that Islam is not the enemy, and that the terrorists are merely a minority of 'extremists' distorting Islam," said one official who wished to go unnamed.

 

WND has obtained a copy of the internal alert from Chertoff, which was distributed to staff at 7:57 a.m. Aug. 10 – within hours, it says, of the arrests of "a significant number of extremists engaged in a substantial plot to destroy multiple aircraft flying from the United Kingdom to the United States."

 

"It's ridiculous. 'Extremists' could mean anyone. Who are we talking about here? Neo-Nazi extremists? Environmental extremists?" another DHS official said. "It's so politically correct. If the head of Homeland Security can't say it, who can?"

 

He noted that as a Jew, Chertoff is especially sensitive to charges of bigotry leveled by Muslim-rights groups.

 

Comments:  Remember the wholesome family series, “Father Knows Best”?  Well, in this news article, President Bush Jr. didn’t heed his father’s example, former President Bush Sr., who pleaded with Israel not to enter the Gulf War of 1991 when Saddam Hussein launched 39 Scud missiles against Israel.  His father knew that if Israel had intervened, the shaky Coalition Forces (Western and Arab nations) would disintegrate and the Arabs would sympathize with Saddam.  Israel, in an unusual display of self-control, refrained from retaliating against Saddam and the Coalition Forces went on to defeat Saddam by liberating Kuwait from his clutches.

 

It’s incomprehensible that President Bush Jr. would appoint a Jew to head up the Department of Homeland Security and then hamstring him from calling a spade a spade, i.e. it’s America’s war against Islamic terrorists.  Extremists could mean Japanese or IRA terrorists who haven’t been known to target America’s interests.  No, it’s Osama bin Laden, the Taliban of Afghanistan and the mullahs of Iran, all Islamic in faith and in action, who have staged the relentless war against the “Great Satan”, the USA, and against the “Little Satan”, Israel.

 

Michael Chertoff, if he truly loves his own people the Jews, ought to step down and let a Gentile American head up the fight against the Islamic terrorists.  His continuation at the post not only hampers the effectiveness of his staff in doing their jobs, but he’s placing Israel in a situation where the Jewish State’s interests aren’t being better served.  Sure, the Islamic jihad warriors might step up targeting Jews around the world if Chertoff was more aggressive and didn’t care about political correctness, but it’s much better in the long run for Islam to push hard at Israel and Israel can respond with her heavy ammo Rambo style.  But, the junior Bush doesn’t have the stomach for a full out war against Islam just like his father who stopped General Norman Schwarzkopf from crossing the Euphrates River to apprehend Saddam Hussein.  That ill advised decision later cost the Americans further anguish and service person lives with Saddam on the lam.  In war, either go all out or don’t start it to begin with.
