Madonna: 'We All Need to be Like Jesus, Gandhi, Martin Luther King and John Lennon'

February 16, 2007 -- Madonna, a subject of controversy in many religious circles, said she wants to be Jesus.

 

Months after outraging Christians for her performance of hanging on a cross during her recent "Confessions" world tour, the American diva said, "For me we all need to be Jesus in our time," in an interview with Sirius Satellite radio.

 

Christians condemned Madonna’s performance last fall, where she wore a crown of thorns while appearing crucified on a mirrored cross.

 

The Roman Catholic Church and Muslim and Jewish leaders said the act was "disrespectful," especially when her tour hit Rome's Olympic stadium, just a couple of miles from the Vatican.

 

Madonna reiterated her message in the latest interview.

 

"Of course some people thought, 'Oh, she's just being controversial, she's just getting on a cross and trying to [anger] people ... 'but that wasn't my intention at all," she said.

 

"Jesus' message was to love your neighbor as yourself, and there are people in need. I hope that people got that message," Madonna explained.

 

Jesus is not the only figure the singer wants to model after. She further stated that she wants "to be like Gandhi and Martin Luther King and John Lennon.” "But I want to stay alive," she added.

 

Comments:  Madonna, the Material Girl, is one messed up woman.  Her mind is more confused than a Rubik Cube.  She’s had the audacity to imitate the Virgin Mary, but Madonna is anything but a virgin; she has slept with more men than Liz Taylor had husbands.  Her blasphemous portrayal of Jesus hanging on the cross has merited God’s unmitigated wrath and it’s a wonder she’s still alive.  In the Old Testament, such similar acts would have had God strike that person dead. We’re indeed living in the dispensational of the grace of God in that He’s so patient with sinners not willing that any should perish.  Madonna’s days are numbered and if her fear is staying alive, then she ought to repent to the Jesus whom she portends to admire and emulate.  Yes, I am cynical when it comes to Madonna. She loves to be in the limelight and the center of attention.  We’ll see what her next outlandish acts will bring forth.

 

The thing that ought to irk Christians is that she has lumped Jesus with the likes of Gandhi, King and Lennon, three men with dubious faiths.  Gandhi was a Hindu who believed in reincarnation.  Martin Luther King was a reverend, but of the liberal variety, and John Lennon, an avowed Christ rejecter and a follower of Eastern mysticism such as Hinduism, Yogis, and Hare Krishna, once boasted that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ.  Well, God permitted a deranged gunman to mow down Lennon in New York City in 1980.  Where’s the boasting now?  Jesus alone ought to be our example for daily living.  All mere humans fall terribly short of the glory of God in that they possess the sin nature that will garner a person an eternity in the Lake of Fire.  Sola (only) Jesus ought to be Madonna’s message.

Mormon enters U.S. presidential race

February 16, 2007 -- Republican Mitt Romney, a former governor who would be the first Mormon in the White House, launched his campaign yesterday with a call for “innovation and transformation” to rejuvenate the economy and restore faith in government.

 

Standing in the Henry Ford museum in suburban Detroit, Romney said he could reclaim the American spirit of ingenuity and questioned if his 2008 presidential rivals were up to the job.

 

“It is time for innovation and transformation in Washington,” said Romney, flanked by a new Ford hybrid and a classic AMC Rambler from his father’s old car company. “I do not believe Washington can be transformed from within by a lifetime politician. It cannot be transformed by someone who has never tried doing such a thing before, in any setting, by someone who has never even managed a corner store.”

 

Comments:  The U.S. Republican Party is supposed to be comprised of people with conservative values and some even adhere to Biblical principles.  There’s a perception that this right wing party is Christian.  Mitt Romney falsely portrays himself as a Christian because he’s a Mormon. Mormonism is a cult and is as Christian as shock jock Howard Stern.  Mormons don’t believe in Jesus as the Son of God who came to Earth to die for sinners.  Sure, Mormons live “clean” lives and many don’t drink coffee or smoke, but clean living never scored points with a Holy God who demands restitution for unrepentant sins.

 

Mr. Romney’s Mormonism is as anti-Semitic as Henry Ford was.  Ford’s checkered history of railing on God’s chosen people is a historical fact.  In fact, his descendents went to great lengths to make amends so that not only the family name is absolved, but the car manufacturing company would remain viable.  If Romney does become U.S. President, will he persecute the American Jews?  In the post-Rapture world, anti-Christian and anti-Semitism would become rampant.

 

When you look at four possible candidates for president, it’s a rogue gallery of a sort.  Hillary Clinton is a liberal feminist who supports abortion; Obama Barack agrees with free choice for the expectant mother and he’s a Muslim; Rudy Giuliani (although a Republican) is sympathetic toward gays and lesbians; and Romney’s Mormonism will lead many people to the Lake of Fire.  America’s future is as bleak as a bombed out Beirut after an Israeli retaliation strike.  Thank God that we have a bright future in Jesus Christ!

Little hope for Mideast peace summit

February 17, 2007 -- Middle East peace summits often start with low expectations. This is especially true of the trilateral meeting here Monday between U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who leads Fatah.

 

Rice, Olmert and Abbas each come to the negotiating table with little power or prestige. Each of them represents what their own constituencies regard as weak, even failed regimes. And because of this, they lack the freedom required to propose the kind of dramatic initiatives or concessions that might be able to kick-start a peace process that has been almost dead for years.

 

The talks, the first of their kind in six years, are scheduled to be held in a hotel near the Old City. They are expected to be dominated by explanations from Abbas about what powerful vetoes Hamas will have over the new Hamas-Fatah coalition government that was announced Feb. 8 in Mecca. The meetings will also include statements from the U.S. and Israel about how they intend to deal with, or not deal with, a more moderate, but still Hamas-dominated government.

 

Hamas's intractability and the political weakness of all the participants are only two of many reasons why the timing of Monday's summit is inconvenient for everyone.

 

When the Bush White House announced the talks five weeks ago, it spoke of bolstering Olmert and Abbas's stature by reinvigorating the peace process. But to bring vigour to the talks there must be concrete proposals of some kind and Rice has none to offer.

 

After largely ignoring the Israel-Palestinian file for six years, President George W. Bush still has little time for it. He remains transfixed by the debacle in Iraq and how to escape from it. And when not consumed by Iraq, he has been fretting about how to respond to a likely Taliban spring offensive in Afghanistan. Olmert has been distracted, too. His unpopularity has been fuelled by what his compatriots regard as his government's failed war against Hezbollah in Lebanon, its inability to stop rockets fired from Gaza from hitting Israeli towns to the south of Tel Aviv and a series of high-profile sex and money scandals.

 

Still, for all that, Abbas may be in the worst position of the three.

 

Almost all of his energy lately has been devoted to trying to prevent a total civil war between Hamas and Fatah in Gaza while fashioning a new government that gives his more moderate Fatah movement a greater say in Palestinian affairs.

 

Given all these dark clouds, the most the summit and bilateral talks with Olmert and Abbas, which precede it this weekend, may achieve is that Rice may be able to get the two men to focus on what needs to be done before heavy issues can be addressed.

 

Comments: The trio will be attending the summit to discuss things. Wow, how exciting! Not!! They will be coming with a bare cupboard with no substance whatsoever to nurture a possible future peace accord.  That being said, why not stay where they are and teleconference each other in the comfort of their enclave’s living room?  Just say their “hellos” and mercifully conclude their brief conversation and get back to their day job.  Nothing will be accomplished at this summit anyway.  All three persons have issues to be resolved back home.  For Ms. Rice, it’s having to go through the peace making motions for her lame duck boss, President Bush.  For Mr. Olmert, it’s about getting the “birds and the bees” to stay away from his corrupt government and for Mr. Abbas, it’s all about spinning the Bee Gees’ LP “Stayin’ Alive” as Hamas’ guns’ crosshairs have him plainly in sight.

 

It has become so apparent for anyone who understands the Middle East that no one can solve that region’s conundrum.  President Clinton tried his hardest and was relegated to check into “Heartbreak Hotel”.  Senor Javier Solana, the El Zorro hombre has been unable to cross his “T’s”, dot his “ï’s”, let alone slash his “Z” across a peace document.  No, it will take a superhuman to force all combatants to drop their armaments and assume a pretentious position of peace and security.  We know from Daniel 9:27 that no man, the U.S., Russia, the EU or the U.N. will produce peace in the Middle East prior to the Rapture event.  It will only be after Jesus has snatched away all true Christians to Heaven that Satan will be allowed to reveal his chosen one, the world’s long awaited man of peace who will be granted the unfettered authority, backed by the world’s mightiest military, to impose a peace treaty.  Israel and her enemies will be forced to hand over all their weapons of destruction or else. Revelation 17:[12] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

'Millions of credit cards' may be reissued

February 17, 2007 -- New credit cards being issued to Canadians because of four recent security breaches at one bank and three retailers could eventually number into the millions.

 

Already, thousands of Visa and MasterCard holders in Winnipeg and across the country are getting new cards mailed to them with only cryptic explanations about security precautions.

 

One Winnipegger who called Visa asking why he was getting a new card said he was not given any information about the potential security breach.

 

Comments:  If the brains at MasterCard and Visa are being outsmarted by the skimmers and shysters out there, what’s a consumer supposed to make out of this?  We’re talking about private information being accessed by those who are intent on assaulting our personal identity, lighten our Net Worth, and inflict paranoia on us.  How could this happen?  How could these credit card issuers be so inept?  Or is it a natural evolution of the cards themselves.

 

In a world where a person’s privacy is being invaded like cockroaches in an unsanitary restaurant kitchen, each Earth citizen ought to be very disturbed.  All forms of physical IDs and business credit and debit cards are prone to being misused by unscrupulous people with criminal intent.  The call for the mothballing of paper cash and ATMs, debit and credit cards to be replaced by something that isn’t physical will reach a crescendo.  Even Smart Cards can be easily stolen and they aren’t the long term alternative.  What is then?  Well, how about implanting a smart computer chip underneath the skin of each person?  They do that to pets already and some employees.  The concept consists of placing a rice size chip under the right hand and all a person needs to do for financial transitions is wave his/her hand over a scanner.  For amputees, the chip could be located under the forehead.  Readers, we’re headed in that direction leading to the Mark of the Beast.  Revelation 13:[16] And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.

English cardinal OK's homosexual Mass

February 18, 2007 -- Homosexual rights campaigners have gained permission from the head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales to hold Mass for gay parishioners.

 

While the Church has allowed celibate gays to receive holy communion, traditionalist Catholics believe that practising homosexuals should be barred from the sacramental rite because their way of life defies Church teaching.

 

Now, however, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor has taken the controversial step of allowing fortnightly Masses in his Westminster diocese specifically for homosexuals.

 

Comments:  The churches in England have had a history of defying the Roman Catholic Church (RCC).  Because the pope at that time wouldn’t allow him to divorce his queen, Henry VIII broke off ties with Rome and established his own church.  In this news article, the English counterpart to the RCC, i.e. the Catholic Church of England, once again thumbed its nose at the Vatican which forbids homosexuals and lesbians to be practising priests and nuns and partake in the Mass.  True Christians know the Mass is an abhorrent sacrificing of Jesus over and over again and the Mass is to be avoided at all cost.  So, in God’s eyes, permitting homosexuals to participate in a vile ritual is a double slap to the face of His Son Jesus.  The Devil has accelerated his attacks on the personage of Jesus in these last days.  The perceived infighting among his own minions is meant to confuse the unsaved.  Why would the Devil allow his house to be divided?  Why not have solidarity?  The sly Devil knows exactly what he’s doing.  Some confused Catholic church goers will give up on their church and seek cultic churches which binds a soul tighter than violin string.  From the frying pan to the oven.

 

This world caters to gays and lesbians in all facets of life, from the business aspect to religion.  Get used to it because that’s what the unsaved Sodomites want and are getting.  God is permitting them to wallow in their sins. The conservative RCC is under siege from the liberal elements from within.  Pope Benedict is a caretaker pope whose sands of time are fast trickling down.  His successor will most likely be a very liberal and youthful cardinal.

Brigham Young University bans YouTube access for students

February 18, 2007 -- The popular Internet video-sharing site YouTube has been blocked on campus at Brigham Young University, the Mormon church school where students agree to live a "chaste and virtuous life."

 

BYU's filtering software blocks pornography, adult content and violence. YouTube has its own filters for porn, but BYU decided last fall to add the site to the list of those blocked through the university's Internet service, The Daily Herald newspaper reported Friday.

 

 

Students who live off-campus and have a private Internet provider can view whatever they want, although it may violate the school's strict, conservative standards.

 

Student Megan Timothy, who lives on campus, said she finds most YouTube videos humorous and wishes she could access the site from home, but she understands the campus-wide block.

 

"It's BYU, and they block everything," Timothy said.

 

Students and faculty at BYU agree to follow the school's honor code, a list of standards in line with the principles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

The honor code includes provisions against alcohol, tobacco and caffeine use, among other things. It also specifically mentions pornography or other offensive materials as taboo and says using the BYU computer network to obtain or distribute pornographic material is inappropriate.

 

Comments:  Here’s another example of the Devil attempting to restrain the natural inclination of young men and women to want to commit sin.  Often we hear people blame the Devil by saying “The Devil made me do it”. But, the Devil will usually leave the unsaved alone and tempt Christians who want to live a life that’s pleasing to God.  The unsaved are his already; he doesn’t really need to expend time and energy to tempt those already chained by their sins.  The Bible tells us that there are three main factors working against every human being, i.e. the world, the flesh and the Devil

 

Even in the Devil’s lair, i.e. the cultic Mormon institution of higher learning known as BYU (graduates have included Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young, the grandson of Brigham Young), young people are immensely influenced by the world around them and their carnal desires.  The Devil needs to portray Mormonism as a squeaky clean “Christian” church to those who are contemplating joining.  In this day and age where parents are totally fed up with the filth on the Internet and all around them, clean and virtuous Mormonism will appeal to them.  Why not send your youths to BYU?  Yes, why not?  The Mormons’ poster family, the TV’s Osmonds, have turned out well and none have been in trouble with the law.  The Devil always has alternatives for people to turn to.  If an unsaved person is disgusted with the degenerating society, then Mormonism is the Devil’s solution.  The unwary doesn’t realize that he will be no better off because the Devil just switched that person’s graffiti jail cell for a spic and span cell down the hallway.
