Kadima Proposes Handing Judea and Samaria to Europe

January 2006 – Following the establishment of the state, the strategic territory
would be handed to security forces associated with Palestinian Authority
President Mahmoud Abbas.
The proposal comes after WND broke the story earlier this week according to top
European and Egyptian diplomatic sources Israel has been conducting
behind-the-scene negotiations to hand over most of Judea and Samaria to Abbas'
security forces. The sources said the transfer of security control to Abbas
would be coordinated by the European Union and Jordan.
Judea and Samaria
encompass Jerusalem
and are within
rocket-firing range of Tel Aviv and Israel's international airport.
At Israel's prestigious Herzliya Conference, Knesset Member Shlomo Breznitz,
reportedly a close confidante of Olmert, said the
Judea and Samaria should be
temporarily transferred to the Europeans
and that most of the territory's
Jewish communities should be evacuated.
"The only way to get out of the impasse is to transfer the territories, for a
limited time, to an international mandate, that will run them until the
establishment of a Palestinian state," said Breznitz at the conference.

According to an aide to
EU foreign policy Chief Javier Solana,
speaking on condition of anonymity, there will be a "historic political
evolution and movement in negotiations in the next few weeks and few months,
unseen since the Camp David peace talks in 2000."
Comments: Handing temporary security control of Judea and Samaria (including Jerusalem) over to the European Union could be one of the most anticipated prophetic events of modern times. You see, once Jerusalem is compassed with armies, we know that the desolation is nigh. If Israel withdraws from the West Bank and it looks like they will, the bible tells us that those who are in Judea will flee to the mountains. This is an interesting passage because if the Jews are forced to pull out of the “Judea and Samaria” there will hardly be any Jews left to fulfil the scripture in Lu 21:20 and Mr 13:14 This would mean that this passage is probably referring to the Jews that are in Judea now, prior to the future pullout. So in other words, it’s possible that with this pullout from “Judea and Samaria” these same Jews uprooted may be the same ones fleeing to the mountains fulfilling the scripture. My guess is that a pullout will take some time to accomplish, setting these scriptures in motion.
Since they are talking about handing over the control of the West Bank to the European Union, many believe that the Antichrist will come from the European Union and will sit in the reconstructed Third Temple during the middle of the 7 year tribulation period. Something we need to be watching for is… who they hand this temporary control (from the European Union) over too? I think the pieces to that puzzle are already in place.

Australian leader announces sweeping water reforms amid record drought

25 January 2006 – Prime Minister John Howard on Thursday announced a multibillion dollar package of water reforms aimed at easing Australia's five-year drought, a move his critics claim is a ploy to establish his environmental credentials ahead of federal elections later this year.
Already the world's driest inhabited continent, Australia's agricultural sector has been crippled in recent months by the worst drought in the nation's 106-year history. Most Australian cities are facing tight water restrictions, as reservoir levels continue to hit record lows.
Under the 10 billion Australian dollar (US$7.8 billion; euro6 billion) plan, the federal government will seize regulatory control over the Murray-Darling river system, Australia's largest waterway, from the four states that border the rivers.
The plan also includes a massive overhaul of Australia's irrigation infrastructure, earmarking nearly A$6 billion (US$4.7 billion; euro3.61 billion) for the modernization of pipes and channels along the Murray-Darling aimed at saving billions of liters (gallons) of water each year.
"The current
trajectory of water use and management in Australia is not sustainable,'' Howard
told the National Press Club in Canberra. "In a protracted drought, and with the
prospect of long-term climate change, we need radical and permanent change.''

Isaiah Washington Begins Counseling
ET has confirmed
that embattled "Grey's Anatomy" star ISAIAH WASHINGTON has begun
counseling for an anti-gay slur he made during last week's Golden Globes awards
and on the set of his hit ABC show.
"With the support of my family and friends, I have begun counseling," says
Washington in a statement. "I regard this as a necessary step toward
understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again. I
appreciate the fact that I have been given this opportunity and I remain
committed to transforming my negative actions into positive results, personally
and professionally."
According to Life & Style, the 43-year-old star
has entered a residential treatment facility for a "psychological assessment"
after talks with ABC executives.
Comments: I don’t watch this show, but I watch enough TV to have heard about this “incident”. In my opinion, it looks like this actor is being sent to “rehab”, not for drugs or alcohol, but to correct a perceived defect in his personality. Later in this article, his problem is referred to as a “behavioral issue”. Now, maybe he does have bursts of anger that are misdirected, but this looks like an attempt to cure him of a negative attitude toward the gay and lesbian community.
How frightening that this might be one of the ways an employee keeps their job. Instead of a reprimand or a written warning, they are instead locked away in “rehab” … I see this as the tip of an iceberg that will fully show itself in the future. The coming one-world government will only be too happy to institute such “behavioral correction”.

Christian Youth Challenge Blasphemy on YouTube

January 24, 2007 - More than a month ago, atheists began to blaspheme the existence of God on the popular YouTube network. Today, Christians are turning the tables and taking up the challenge to stand up to their faith in Jesus Christ publicly.
"I'd like to personally praise the Lord for all He does for me,"
said one young participant in the newly launched "Praise the Lord
Challenge" on YouTube. "He's done so much for me and I've only known
him a few years."
Comments: Well it’s nice to know that the Christian community launched a response to the blasphemous group on YouTube. I read an article on CNN.com about this a while back and decided not to follow the link to the YouTube video. I can’t bring myself to watch young people denounce God. It is far to sad to watch.
I only pray that these young people will turn from their sins and recognize Christ as their Savior and receive the fullness of His love. I praise the Lord for giving us the heart and the will to fight back against blasphemy.

Film’s Child Rape Scene Causes Stir

January 24, 2007 - At a festival that features several films with sexual content, including full male nudity and a documentary about bestiality, a southern Gothic tale that includes the rape of a young girl is causing the biggest stir.
"Hounddog" is the story of Lewellen, a girl played by 12-year-old
Dakota Fanning, who is growing up in the 1960s South. She is a
free-spirit obsessed with Elvis Presley and has little supervision
by her abusive father and alcoholic grandmother.
Even before the first screening of "Hounddog" at the Sundance Film
Festival this week, a Christian film critic, citing Fanning's age,
decried the movie as child abuse, and Roman Catholic activist Bill
Donohue called for a boycott.
Comments: Now while I do not agree with the movie itself, the attacks on the child and her family is totally uncalled for.
I think this movie gives an accurate picture of the morality in this world today. Whether the child signed on for this movie or not, she is still a child and should be treated as such. Something like this can be very traumatic for anyone, but a child is especially vulnerable. I have never understood while movies have to be so graphic, I mean what is the imagination for anymore? I tell you what it should be for: Thinking of new and creative ways to spread the Word of God to every corner of the globe.

Israeli president could face indictment

January 25, 2007 -- Israeli President Moshe Katsav faced indictment Tuesday on charges of rape and abuse of power in the most serious accusation against a top Israeli official in the country's history.
The allegation Katsav used his position as Israel's ceremonial head of state -- a job supposed to serve as the country's moral compass -- to force himself on his female employees has left the country reeling.
"It is a sad day for the state of Israel," said legislator Benny Elon, who called on Katsav to resign to spare Israel further trauma.
But Katsav gave no indication he was preparing to step down, despite a wave of demands that he quit.
Attorney General Meni Mazuz's announcement that he intended to indict Katsav on a raft of charges was only the latest corruption scandal roiling the government, with accusations reaching as high as Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
Comments: At a time in Israel’s history when she’s about to be attacked by Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Syria and Iran, Israel can ill afford for its leaders to be indicted for sexual misconduct, financial impropriety and the grand‑daddy of them all, political corruption and abuse of power. The Israeli population look to their politicians and military generals to be morally upright people and when a career bureaucrat such as Katsav was found to have sexually harassed his female employees, well you can envision Israel’s world image taking a direct hit of the worse sort. The Gentile nations and the Arab/Islamic world will heap scorn on Israel. This will add more fuel to Islam’s assertion that the immoral infidels (which includes Israel) must be eradicated. (Of course, the self-righteous followers of Islam in Iran have never been publicly caught with their pants down.)
PM Ehud Olmert is already seen as a shady character and should it be revealed that he’s just as bad as Katsav if not worse, you can imagine the increasing calls for his resignation. How did Israel get to become like all the nations surrounding her? God chose Israel as the apple of His eye and her people as His special people. He would be their protectorate and guardian yet the people demanded a human king. God gave them Saul as king and ever since, Israel’s leaders have alternated between good and bad with the majority leading the people away from God and into spiritual idolatry. When Israel’s leaders were wicked and evil and put God out of their lives, the nation was chastised by God. 2007 could be the year that God will permit Israel to agree to a 7-year peace accords between her and the many peoples/nations which in turn will set off the 7-year Tribulation Period. Mid-point into that period will be the Great Tribulation Period in which God will permit the Antichrist to persecute and kill off 2/3 of Jews worldwide as chastisement and to bring His people back to Him in repentance.

Texas Hold'em will sweeten pot for charities
Hoping poker events will leave them flush

January 25, 2007 -- The Manitoba Gaming Control Commission has agreed to allow charities to host Texas Hold'em poker tournaments to help flagging fundraising campaigns.
Beginning Feb. 1, organizations including church groups can apply for a licence that lets them host pokers events where the winners take home cash.
"We held two tournaments and they went very, very well," said Gord Kent, entertainment and special events chair for the Army Navy Airforce Veteran's Club on Portage Avenue. "It was very good for the club and good for our charity."
Texas Hold'em is a unique form of poker where players each get two cards dealt face down, and then build a hand using five cards dealt face up. The game has taken on an iconic popularity thanks in large part to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the granddaddy of poker tournaments, Internet poker sites and nearly round-the-clock television coverage.
Andrea Kowal said the commission looked long and hard at the format of Texas Hold'em tournaments before making any final decision about whether to let Manitoba charities in on the action. However, there had been a lot of interest to allow the charities to replace some of the more traditional games with a more contemporary style of gaming.
To date, however, the only legal Texas Hold'em played in Manitoba is at Manitoba Lottery Corporation's Club Regent Casino. MLC spokeswoman Susan Olynik said Club Regent hosts a Texas Hold'em tournament every Tuesday with an 88-player limit. The tournaments are normally sold out weeks in advance.
Comments: Gambling has never been so widespread in the Western societies as it is today. It has been governments which are heavily promoting the vice for monetary gain. Thousands upon thousands of addicted gamblers (including Christians) have wasted their entire life’s savings and have gone into debt due being unable to pay back the principal and interest from borrowing. Some have tragically ended their lives yet governments shed no tears nor show any remorse. Even churches have fallen prey to basement bingos and now Texas Hold'em. The church buildings, the places of worship of Jesus and buildings for Bible reading, prayer and exhortation to evangelize and make disciples, have become the den for thieves. Luke 19:[45] And he (Jesus) went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; [46] Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. I’m not specifically singling out Roman Catholic churches; there are also mainline Protestant denominations that hold bingos, bazaars, card games, etc. The desire to be like the world is a strong draw for these religious institutions that crave increased revenues. Let us engage in evil (gambling) so that good (charities for worthy causes) may result. Romans 3:[8] Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just. When professing Christendom shuts Jesus out of their buildings, Satan’s devices have their sway. Increasingly, Christians have blended in with the world and the dilution seriously weakens the believers’ testimonies.

High-risk robbery investigation: Winnipeg at centre of national probe

January 25, 2007 -- Winnipeg is at the centre of a massive cross-country police investigation involving high-risk, high-reward robberies of financial institutions, police confirmed Thursday.
The story was reported exclusively on the Free Press website last night.
Several suspects, including at least one Winnipeg man, have been arrested this week and are being held in custody facing numerous charges. Police say more arrests are pending.
Const. Jacqueline Chaput said police across Canada began executing a number of search warrants on Wednesday involving a "criminal organization".
The raids were the culmination of a three-year investigation involving the Winnipeg Police Service Criminal Investigations Bureau, along with several other Canadian police agencies, she said.
Chaput wouldn't identify other provinces, but sources told the Free Press the case has connections to British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.
A police source said it's believed a major bank robbery was being planned in Vancouver and set to occur soon, prompting police to act when they did this week.
The initial investigation can be traced back to a Winnipeg bank theft of more than $100,000 in May 2004, according to the source.
The incident -- in which thieves broke into eight new automated-teller machines at the new Polo Park-area CIBC mega-centre -- caught the attention of police for its sophistication.
Detectives believe someone broke into the branch at Empress Street and Ellice Avenue and emptied the cash out of the ATMs.
Police believe a number of people may have had access to the machines in the days leading up the robbery, as the new $7.5-million building was under construction and due to open the following week.
The daring hit forced grand opening celebrations to be postponed while police detectives, bank security officials and a private security firm scoured the scene for clues.
Police were stumped, eventually turning to Crime Stoppers to publicize the incident and offer a $2,000 reward for information.
Comments: Money’s days are definitely numbered like the remaining hairs on David Letterman’s head. ATMs hold doodles of untraceable cold cash that, when stolen, may never be recovered. The general public still likes the feel of paper money though and it will hard to wrestle that away from them. Debit card use, on the other hand, is on the rise with credit card use on the decline. That’s good news for the electronic commerce industry. Recently making the news headlines were stories of how unscrupulous store employees were taking some credit cards and running the electronic strip containing personal information (including financial) through a skimmer (purchased via the Internet) and then later making their own credit cards. Unsuspecting owners of the credit cards were shocked to see thousands of dollars of unapproved purchases show up on their next statements.
The reality is that anything that a person physically can handle, e.g. paper currency, plastic credit and debit cards, smart cards, etc., can be stolen, tampered with, and misused to the detriment of the rightful owners. The money gurus are fully aware of this and have allowed consumers to experienced pain lessons. “No pain, no gain”. The hit to the pocketbook and to one’s privacy will result in a deafening cry for an alternative. Well, don’t weep anymore because smart chips implanted into a person will be the next logical step in commerce. The same type of chips that many animals are implanted with will be inserted just under the skin of humans. This, of course, is what Bible prophecy authors and students have been on the lookout for decades. The introduction of human chip implants and their widespread use will herald the soon revealing of the Antichrist, Mr. 666.
