Former Presidents Carter and Clinton announce major Baptist meeting

January 11, 2007 -- Plans are in the works for a major meeting for Baptists distancing themselves from conservatives in the Southern Baptist Convention.

Former presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton joined the leaders of about 40 Baptist groups to make the announcement yesterday at the Carter Center in Atlanta.

The meeting, scheduled for next year, is aimed at improving the public image of Baptists and broadening their agenda on social issues such as poverty, racial conflict and health care.

The S-B-C has become the leading voice against gay marriage and abortion since coming under conservative control nearly 30 years ago.

Comments:  Carter and Clinton are two former liberal Democrat humanistic presidents.  Carter has publicly declared that he’s a Christian whereas Mr. Clinton has assumed the obvious, i.e. he was the leader of a ‘Christian’ nation.  Both Bill and Hillary Clinton appeared in Billy Graham’s final crusade in New York City in which Mr. Graham (a friend to both Democrat and Republican presidents) quipped that Mr. Clinton ought to be a preacher.

Carter has angered Conservative evangelicals with his liberalism that borders on Communism and Carter’s recent public strafing of Israel didn’t endear him with Christian Zionists.  Like Carter, Clinton doesn’t see anything special about Israel.  They believe that the Church has replaced Israel in God’s plans and Israel needs to be prodded hard to make peace with her Arab enemies.

Like Rick Warren who’s currently pushing his five-point P.E.A.C.E. plan, Messrs. Carter and Clinton have jumped on the social gospel bandwagon.  No longer is soul saving the No. 1 priority for Christians.  Instead, people’s temporal needs must come first and foremost.  Feed their famine induced bloated bellies, find a cure for AIDS, eradicate poverty (Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter have regularly contributed to Habitat for Humanity as carpenters and promoters), put an end to racial tensions, and make this planet a Heaven on Earth paradise.  Can you say ‘Utopia’ and ‘Shangri‑La’?  Heaven and Jesus can wait.  Man will rejuvenate Earth and make it a blessing for all 6.5 billion humanoids.  In fact, mankind will present the earthly kingdom to Jesus. More and more Southern Baptists have given up the Rapture hope of Jesus’s soon appearing and believe that Jesus may not come for another 100 to 20,000 years. Instead of waiting and watching in vain, they’re rolling up their sleeves to get to work and make this world better and better.

France 'no longer a Catholic country'

January 11, 2007 -- Barely half the French population describe themselves as Catholic, according to a poll released yesterday, sparking a leading religious publication to declare France "no longer a Catholic country".

A poll published in Le Monde des Religions yesterday showed the number of self-declared French Catholics had dropped from 80 per cent in the early 1990s and 67 per cent in 2000 and to 51 per cent today.

The number of atheists has risen sharply to 31 per cent from 23 per cent in 1994.

Le Monde des Religions cited varied reasons for the decline, including the rural exodus, changing values and the rise of individualism. One devout Catholic said the biggest problem was that younger generations were no longer interested.

"When you go to Sunday mass, it's just old people, except for special occasions like midnight mass," said Marie-France Guillon, a retired school teacher from the fishing village of Crac in Brittany. "When I tried to get my grandson, who took communion in March, to go to Sunday school, he said 'no thanks, I'd rather stay and play monopoly.' "

Comments:  Thank God, people in France are giving up on the false religion that is Roman Catholicism.  On the flip side of the coin, there are more atheists than ever.  From personal experience, atheists and agnostics are easier to reach with the Gospel of God than religious people who are self righteous and don’t see themselves as sinners in need of the Savior Jesus Christ.  France is a field that is white unto harvest.  Certainly, the window of opportunity is now.

Islam has double its percentage and is expected to make a bigger splash on French society.  Both Roman Catholicism and Islam have pagan roots albeit they’re two of the world’s three religions that believe in one god.  True Christianity believes in the true Triune God.  Judaism is adheres to Jehovah God while rejecting the Son of God, Jesus.

Yes, Roman Catholicism is a tired act in France these days.  The population no longer cares about rituals and traditions.  They don’t see any relevance in the RCC in their hectic lives, lives that are saturated with diversions.  You can bet Pope Benedict XVI has a worried look on his face.  His church is being tuned out in Europe especially.  In America, the RCC is actually thriving; therefore the pope will try to duplicate that throughout all of Europe.  These are indeed trying times for the harlot church.

'Little Mosque on the Prairie' debuts

January 11, 2007 -- Canadian Muslim leaders were urging their congregations to tune in to Tuesday night's debut of CBC's internationally hyped sitcom "Little Mosque on the Prairie."

"There are a lot of imams going around (suggesting) people watch (it)," said Mohamed Elmasry, president of the Canadian Islamic Congress and an imam himself. "I believe it's about time for Muslims to laugh at themselves - we are a latecomer into comedy."

"Little Mosque," set in the fictional town of Mercy, has received enormous media attention from news outlets including CNN, BBC Radio, The Associated Press and the New York Times. Much of the coverage has focused on the fact that the show is a comedy about Muslims set in a post 9-11 world.

Comments:  A Muslim who is ROFLOL (rolling on the floor laughing out loud)?  Say it ain’t so!  That’s like usually stoic President Richard Nixon appearing on ‘Laugh‑In with Rowan and Martin’ flashing his famous V sign, shaking his head, and exclaiming “I’m no crook”.  Viewers would be holding their bellies in uncontrollable laughter. 

What would the ayatollahs in Iran be thinking about a comedy pertaining to Islam’s followers?  They would not be pleased for mirth is not congruent with Allah, the Koran and the prophet Mohammed.  Muslims, after all, are brute murderers, not Yuk Yuk performers the likes of Jerry Seinfeld and Richard Pryor.  But, in order to be accepted by the Western societies, Islam will put aside its disdain temporarily and use the West’s penchant for laughter and entertainment as the weapons by which to first initiate people into Islam and assimilate them all.  Resistance will be futile.
